THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX:
Slavery,
Racism
and "Nazis."
Many Americans think "Nazi" and "racist" is the same thing.
They don't realize that 400 years of American slavery was carried
out by the Spanish, the Portuguese, the Dutch, the British, the French,
NOT by the
Germans
[certainly not the "Nazis."]
By the time slavery was officially ended first by the British and
then by the
Americans,
all off
Africa
had been taken over and divided between France and Britain,
with smaller portions going to Spain, Italy and Belgium.
The only German "possession" was South West Africa [now known as Namibia].
World War II weakened the hold of the colonizing powers in Africa.
Why do Americans equate "Nazi" with racist?
Guess who hates the Nazis most?
In other words, constant brainwashing goes on to create mental paradigms.
Sharon is the biggest murderer alive,
but he is honored and invited to the White House. He is not a Nazi.
Does anyone dare say: This Jew is a mass murderer and Israel's Jews,
backed by International Jewry, are involved in ongoing genocide.

Muslim Children in Atlanta Taken without Explanation:
In Atlanta, Georgia,on May 6 and May 9 there were more protests
against the taking of two Muslim children by the U.S. government.
The Friday, May 6, protest, was right in front of the state legislature
in downtown Atlanta to attract the law makers' attention. Glimpses of
and references to the protest appeared on two local TV channels.
On May 9,
the mother of the two children,
Sis. Khalidah Tunkara
was herself stopped by the police and almost arrested near the
court outside Atlanta.
The government has
REFUSED TO GIVE ANY EXPLANATION FOR TAKING HER CHILDREN.
It's taking on an
Islam-vs-secularism
color. The mother,
Khalidah Tunkara, WEARS FULL HIJAB and a FACE VEIL.
The local authorities seem to think this Islamic image of the mother
is unacceptable.
We urge the Muslims of Atlanta to rise up in support of Sis. Khalidah.
Let the Imams speak out in the mosques.
IF THESE PEOPLE CAN physically TAKE AWAY OUR CHILDREN,
whom will we have as Muslims tomorrow?
---------------------------------------------
METAIRE, Louisiana:
SHOCKING Disclosure: Sis. Muhanna, who was murdered in December in
her home, and nothing was taken, was a
Palestinian,
sister-in-law of Palestinian leader Dr. Abdelhalim Ashqar
whom the government has been persecuting in a number of ways.
[Recently his bank account was closed without explanation.]

War News:
[From our
Media
Monitor with brief analysis.]
LIBYA's QADDAFI is sending $600 million to
Jews in Israel
who over 40 years back were living in Libya.
[FOX TV May 10.]
New Trend
reports that these Jews are living easy lives in Israel,
funded by the U.S. and International Jewry. Is there any reason why
so much money should go to them? The real story is something else.
Our analysis is that this money may well be for the CAPTURE of
ABUL FARAJ al-LEEBI by
Pakistani
General Musharraf at the orders of the U.S.
The timing of the $600 million pay out indicates that New Trend's
analysis of al-Leebi's arrest was correct. He fled into the Pakistani
mountains to escape Qaddafi's wrath. He may well have been organizing
the Libyan Islamic opposition.
President
Bush
made the claim that Al-Leebi was a "direct threat" to the U.S.,
a patently absurd claim.
Behind the whole show were ostensibly the
Zionist
Jews for whom both Bush and Musharraf seem to be working. Proof:
The Jews got $600 million from Qaddafi, who has claimed for decades
that he supports the Palestinians. Just about all the
Arab
rulers are playing this dirty game.
Saddam had to be removed because he broke away.

Iraq:
"insurgents" killed: 100 or 7?
Not far from the
Syrian
border, by the Euphrates river, on May 9, the U.S. launched 1,000
of its best troops, spearheaded by tanks and supported by the latest
jet fighters and helicopter gunships.
The U.S. claims that in the first 48 hours of the offensive,
it killed 100 "insurgents." The 100 figure was placed firmly on
the top front page of the New York Times [May 10] and from there
found its way across the country to numerous publications which
feed off the NYT.
[The Baltimore Sun was somewhat cautious and claimed "about 100"
on its front page.]
New Trend's analyst went through the major newspaper to see if they
could substantiate the 100 figure in any way. Almost identical
reports appeared in the Chicago Tribune and San Luis Obispo,
California paper. There is NOTHING in the body of these reports
to support the U.S. claim.
There are "embedded" reporters with the U.S. forces and they havn't
come up with any substantiation either. One incident they report
showed that a resistance fighter killed a marine and wounded
another before he was killed. There are a couple of other specific
reports, which give a total of SEVEN resistance fighters killed
with THREE U.S. marines killed and 12 wounded.
Probably, the U.S. has "estimated" that a 100 must have been killed
in the bombing and missile attacks it carried out.
A good guerrilla force never meets a heavily armed modern army head
on because there is no sensible equation of fire power.
U.S. OPPOSED BY ENTIRE POPULATION:
One report indicates that as the U.S. forces prepared to cross
the Euphrates to move northwards, an ENTIRE SMALL TOWN switched
off its lights to signal to people across the river that the Americans
were coming. This signalling continued in other towns as the Americans
advanced.
On May 10 and 11, the U.S. made no further claims of losses
inflicted on "insurgents" though the offensive continued. Evidently
the big push has fizzled out.
--------------------------------------------------
AFGHANISTAN:
THEY STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENED AT GUANTANAMO BAY!
Afghans don't know either English or Urdu. The news of the
torture of prisoners of war in Guantanamo is just beginning
to reach them! On May 11, there were demonstrations in Jalalabad
against the mistreatment of Muslims by the U.S. in GTOMO. The
demonstrations got out of hand, the police opened fire and two
people were killed. [Source Fox TV.] Jalalabad is not pro-Taliban
and seldom gets excited about anything.
FIRST TIME IN LAGHMAN: Associated Press reported on May 9 a five
hour clash brtween U.S. troops and Taliban in this area 60 miles
east of Kabul. Two marines and 2 Taliban were killed in the clash.
The U.S. then called in air support and the Taliban fled.
The U.S. says 21 more of the Taliban must have been killed in
the air attack but AP says these are "unconfirmed."
Pakistani newspapers say EIGHT Afghan civilians, including a woman
and a child, were killed in the U.S. air attack.
MULLAH UMAR LAUGHS OFF KARZAI'S "AMNESTY" OFFER:
The Karzai clique in Kabul sent an offer of "amnesty"
to the legendary Taliban leader Mullah Umar through
Sibghatullah Mujaddadi. A spokesman for the Taliban called
Pakistani newspapers to ridicule the offer. Sibghatullah Mujaddadi
does not understand what's going on, the spokesman said.
Mullah Umar will not talk with anyone in Kabul till the Americans
evacuate Afghanistan, he said. And even after they leave, Karzai
might see the fate of the Soviet puppets after Soviets withdrew.
As to the comment of Karzai and General Musharraf that the
"Taliban are finished," the Taliban spokesman asked:
Who do you think is killing the U.S. troops and Afghan
"government troops?" Are they killing themselves?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
PAKISTAN:
U.S. MUST APOLOGIZE for DESECRATION of the
QUR'AN
in GUANTANAMO BAY
Looks like New Trend's report, from British Muslims released from GTMO,
that a U.S. guard threw the Qur'an into the toilet while torturing a
Muslim prisoner, has finaly reached Pakistani law makers.
There was furor in the Pakistani parliament on May 9, as speakers
both from the Islamic opposition and the secular supporters of
Musharraf condemned the desecration of the Qur'an by the U.S.
and called for apology by the U.S.
The fact that Musharraf supporters spoke out indicate the general
opposition to America in Pakistan. For their own credibility,
they had to pretend that they cared.

Children Held at Abu Ghraib:
U.S. Locked up 15,000 Iraqi Civilians for No Crime
[Excerpts from a report by MATT KELLEY The Guardian
Associated Press Writer]
WASHINGTON (AP) - Children held by the U.S. Army at Iraq's
Abu Ghraib prison included one boy who appeared to be only
about 8 years old, the former commander of the prison told
investigators, according to a transcript.
"He looked like he was eight years old. He told me he was almost 12,"
Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski told officials investigating prisoner
abuse at Abu Ghraib. "He told me his brother was there with him,
but he really wanted to see his mother, could he please call his mother.
He was crying."
Karpinski's statement is among hundreds of pages of Army records
about Abu Ghraib the American Civil Liberties Union released
Thursday. The ACLU got the documents under a Freedom of Information
Act lawsuit seeking records about abuse of detainees in Iraq.
Karpinski did not say what happened to the boy in her interview
with Maj. Gen. George Fay.
The transcript released Thursday is the first government
document indicating that a child no older than 11 was held
prisoner at Abu Ghraib.
Karpinski said the Army began holding women and children in a
high-security cellblock at Abu Ghraib in the summer of 2003 because
the facility was better than lockups in Baghdad where they had been held.
The documents also include statements from six witnesses who said
three interrogators and a civilian interpreter at Abu Ghraib got
drunk one night and took a 17-year-old female prisoner from her cell.
The four men forced the girl to expose her breasts and kissed her,
the reports said. The witnesses - whose names were blacked out of
the documents given to the ACLU - said those responsible were not punished.
Another soldier said in January 2004, troops poured water and
smeared mud on the detained 17-year-old son of an Iraqi general
and "broke" the general by forcing him to watch his son shiver
in the cold.
On another subject, Karpinski said she had seen written orders
to hold a prisoner that the CIA had captured without keeping
records. The documents released by the ACLU also quote an unnamed
Army officer at Abu Ghraib as saying military intelligence officers
and the CIA worked out a written agreement on how to handle
unreported detainees. An Army report issued last September said
investigators could not find any copies of any such written agreement.
The Pentagon has acknowledged holding up to 100 "ghost detainees,"
keeping the prisoners off the books and away from humanitarian
investigators from the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld has defended the practice,
saying he authorized it because the prisoners were "enemy combatants"
not entitled to prisoner of war protections.
The ACLU sued Rumsfeld earlier this month on behalf of four Iraqis
and four Afghans who say they were tortured at U.S. military
facilities. Rumsfeld and his spokesmen have repeatedly said that
the defense secretary and his aides never authorized or condoned
any abuses.
Karpinski - one of the few generals to be criticized in Army
detainee reports for poor leadership - quoted several senior
generals in Iraq as making callous statements about prisoners.
Karpinski said Maj. Gen. Walter Wodjakowski, then the No. 2 Army
general in Iraq, told her in the summer of 2003 not to release
more prisoners, even if they were innocent.
"I don't care if we're holding 15,000 innocent civilians. We're
winning the war," Karpinski said Wodjakowski told her. She said
she replied: "Not inside the wire, you're not, sir."

One of a series of
revolutionary Khutbas:
Most Muslims do not Study Qur'an &
Hadith.
Cut off from Original Islam by the triple evils of Kingship,
Slavery and the Subjugation of Women: Abu Hanifa, Malik,
Shafii etc did not Form Schools of Fiqh Named After Them.
Dr. Kaukab Siddique
gave the Juma Khutba at Masjid al-Madinah in Baltimore on April 29, 2005.
The following are its main points:
-
Text: "Say: 'Shall I seek for ruler other than Allah when it is He
who has sent unto you the Book, explained in detail'..."
[The Qur'an 6:114]

-
I have nothing personal against anyone who follows the Islamic Schools
of Thought [fiqh]. However, if Muslims are to progress, they must
open the Qur'an and study it in the light of the authentic Hadith,
and not follow books relevant only to a certain time in history.
Only the Qur'an and the Hadith transcend history.

-
My study of Pakistan and parts of Africa shows that most Muslims do
not open the Qur'an for guidance. Many of them don't have a book of
Hadith in their homes. They simply follow the schools of thought
which they were born into.

-
Following the era of colonialism, at least some Muslims are seeking
the original teachings of Islam but most find it easier to simply
follow what their fathers did.. WHY?

-
The answer is that following the Golden Era of the Prophet, pbuh,
and of the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs, hereditary monarchy was
established in the Muslim world along with its accompanying evils,
like Slavery and the Subjugation of Women.

-
In Islam, there is no monarchy or dictatorship. The basic principle
of the Islamic polity is "mutual consultation and consent"
[Shoora in the language of the Qur'an.]

-
The Prophet, pbuh, passed away in year 11 of the Hijra calendar.
Abu Bakr, r.a., was Caliph from 11 to 13, a short time jamp packed
with brilliant achievements. Umar, r.a. ruled from 13 to 23 H.,
leaving behind a lasting example of justice. Usman, r.a, was Caliph
from 23 to 35, and Islam became a world power. Towards the end of
his rule, the internal perfection of the Caliphate started being
eroded. Ali, r.a., 35 to 40 H. was a great human being but Muslims
now got involved in internal contradictions.

-
Ameer Muawiyya, 40-60 H, laid the foundations of monarchy though
the original Islamic impulse still remained very strong and Muslims
were united during his regime.

-
Under Yazeed, 60 to 64 H and Abdul Malik, 65-86, hereditary kingship
appeared in its most brutal form.

-
The great Islamic scholars, Abu Hanifa, Ja'afar, Malik, Shafii,
Hanbal remained independent of the power structure, although the
"Caliphate" now was an imperial power, the superpower of the time.

-
Abu Hanifa and others did NOT form the schools of thought named
after them. The Kings tried both to coerce them and to buy them
but failed to erode their resolve.

-
The most famous incident is that of Imam Malik whom Caliph Harun
ar-Rasheed himself approached to make his book of Hadith, Muwatta,
the text book of Islamic Law in the entire empire. The Imam
refused the offer.

-
For Imam Shafi'I, even Hadith from ONE narrator was more important
than any scholar's view. Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal focused totally on
Hadith. Imam Abu Hanifa used Hadith and understanding of the 4
Caliphs and the sahabah to understand the Qur'an.

-
Most modern Muslims, in Pakistan and elsewhere, know little about
the Qur'an and even less about the Hadith. They love Islam and
the Prophet, pbuh, but progress is very slow because of their
blind following of Schools of Thought which spoke to a certain
age and time.

-
In the later collections of Muwatta [by Imam Malik] there are
additions endorsing SLAVERY, and these narrations are NOT from
the Prophet, pbuh.

-
As we know, ISLAM came to STOP SLAVERY, not to accept it in some form
or the other. Look at SURAH AL-BALAD [chapter 90 of the Qur'an].
Early in the Makkan period, it equated Islam with the FREEING of
SLAVES. What would Bilal, r.a., have thought of "later Islam"
which started finding excuses for slavery?

-
Hadith tells us that men must not put obstacles in the way of
women's participation in the mosque. Men and women were EQUAL
in the mosque during the time of the Prophet, pbuh, and the 4 Caliphs

-
Now we find modern Muslim scholars saying that women don't have an
obligation to go to the mosque. It's a destructive tendency playing
right into the fragmentation of the family system in America. Most
of our women now go everywhere EXCEPT to the mosque.

-
Hadith tell us that the greatest women of Islam were at every famous
Jihad
which shaped the origins of Islam. At the battle of Uhud, a woman,
at great personal risk, saved the life of the Prophet, pbuh, as
narrated in detail in Ibn Sa'ad's Tabqat.

-
The future belongs to Islam but will we be among those victorious
forces? That will depend on our ability to study the Qur'an and
the authentic Hadith and implement Allah's Guidance and Muhammad's,
pbuh, example in our lives.

PROPOSAL for a WAQF to help Sisters but through Male Relatives
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Muslim Men, a Problem for Us to Solve
In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful
Assalaamu Alaykum, Brothers -
Brothers, Muslims are faced with many challenges these days.
(Allah t'ala is truly Merciful.) Here is one we can handle with
deep and far-reaching benefits.
I often see on lists requests from sisters for aid. Like many of you,
I often respond. There is a problem:
The requests come from sisters. The requests should come from
brothers on behalf of sisters. Even if the sister is alone--and
that is rarely the case--a man should represent her. Reason?
The primary reason is that even normally generous brothers are
reluctant to send money to a strange woman. And there are sound
bases for that reluctance. We will not recount those here. Suffice
it to say, because of that reluctance many women and children
suffer and families that could be saved from dissolution are not
saved. Shaiytan wins.
SOLUTION--a Funding Institution--a "Waqf"
Maybe this solution gets at the heart of the matter. I present it
to brothers for refinement and, after refinement, participation:
-
Requests come to an Administrator;
-
If the request comes from a brother on behalf of himself and his
family, he must have his request authenticated by the administration
of a local masjid. He is given contact information for a
Participating Masjid;
-
After authentication, the brother is sent a token donation;
-
The Administrator then negotiates with the local masjid to establish
a balance between what the local community will continue to do for
the brother and what the Waqf must do. Ideally the local community
assumes the entire burden, its goal being to make the brother
independent;
-
If the request comes from a sister, she is told to have a man request
on her behalf. Her husband if that is feasible. A local brother.
A non-Muslim male relative if necessary in the case of converts.
A non-Muslim father of her children if necessary in the case of
converts. (No non-Muslim male "friends" in the case of converts);
-
The man representing the sister must have her request authenticated
by the administration of a local masjid. He is given contact
information for a Participating Masjid;
-
After authentication, the sister is sent a token donation;
-
The Administrator then negotiates with the local masjid to establish
a balance between what the local community will continue to do for
the sister and what the Waqf must do. Ideally the local community
assumes the entire burden, its goal being to help the sister establish
a stable family. In the case of converts, the local community should
attempt to give a role in helping sisters to non-Muslim relatives
and fathers of children.
The date of this writing is 5 May 2005. At this time the waqf is
only an idea. If you wish to contribute to the development of this
idea into an actionable plan, please contact Na'im AbdurRafi
http://deencom.com
Consider the following thoughts for now:
-
Funds would be maintained by an Islamic Bank;
-
Funds could be invested by that bank for the purpose of building the
fund and assisting Islamic business projects and facilitating
Islamic financing of real estate purchases;
-
At some point the Administrator referred to above might require a
salary and a salaried staff;
-
The waqf effort could be initiated utilizing volunteers, with
responsibility rotating until the time is right for a paid
administration;
-
Basic funding would come from commitments to very small monthly
donations by every Muslim man who has an e-mail address. My
thinking is five dollars.
Insha'Allah, shortly after 5 May 2005, a discussion list will be
established for the purpose of planning. Insha'Allah, not too
long after that, something will be launched. We seek the
forgiveness, mercy, and guidance of Allah Most High.
