Rabi' al-Thani 29,1432/April 3, 2011 # 14
Latest News:
Ivory Coast: Heavy fighting continued through March 31,
April 1 and 2 between the forces loyal to Bagbo and Outtara.
Tens of thousands of people have become homeless. The death
toll is rising after massacre and counter massacre in a
western town. The suffering is greater than that in Libya
but President Obams and African American leaders are silent.
Ivory Coast urgently needs help.
Afghanistan: Huge demonstrations broke out in Afghan cities
following the news that a Christian pastor in Florida [USA]
had desecrated and burned the Qur'an. On Friday, April 1, in
the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif, demonstrators became
violent when guards at the UN compound opened fire on them
killing 3 . The demonstrators seized weapons from the
[Napalese] guards and stormed the UN center killing the 4
guards and 3 European officials. [Afghans consider the UN a
branch of the US.]
Then on April 2, in Kandahar, Karzai's troops opened fire on
a very large rally against the Qur'an desecration in the
USA. At least 10 unarmed Muslims were killed in the
shooting. The crowds then ran riot, setting government
buildings and vehicles on fire and injuring scores of
police. The city is now in a seriously disorganized
condition.
[All through March, guerrilla attacks by the Taliban on NATO
forces continued resulting in the death of 37 of NATO's best
troops. In two small arms attacks in Kunar province, Taliban
killed 6 troops from the US 101st airborne division, US
sources say.]
In Libya, the US has suddenly withdrawn from the bombing
campaign. There is speculation that the US has realized that
Qaddafi was right: the "rebels" are strongly Islamic and
include al-Qaida fighters. The bombing destroyed only a
dozen Gaddafi tanks and 20 vehicles. No casualties are
mentioned. The rag tag rebels cannot face Gaddafi's
artillery fire and are now regrouping under a professional
officer's command. In Misrata [western Libya], Gaddafi's
military has killed 237 civilians in two weeks. Hundreds of
civilians from African countries have taken refuge in
Misrata even as Gaddafi's forces shell the city. [See US
Muslim rebel leader Shaikh al-Awlaki's statement from Yemen,
distributed by Reuters, on why al-Qaida sees the uprisings
in Arab countries as very positive for the Islamic cause.
Scroll all the way down.]
In Syria and Yemen, the people's unarmed rallies continued.
The tyrant Assad has made some arrogant speeches and has
killed more people. In Yemen too, the corrupt regime refuses
to leave. Gaddafi's horrific killing of civilians has
encouraged both Assad and Salah to stay in power but the
people seem to have no more fear of the tyrants, reports
say. Crowds are larger. Huge!
Bahrain's opposition has been crushed temporarily with Saudi
help but people are not giving up.

Literature Given to 191 Muslims after Juma: Pakistani &
African American Muslims
April 1, 2011: At the largest gathering of Muslims in
Maryland, at Masjid Rahma, western Baltimore, Jamaat
al-Muslimeen's literature was given to 191 people, mostly
Pakistanis, African Americans and Arabs. It consisted of 6
pages, including a report on demonstrations all over
Pakistan to protest desecration of the Qur'an in Florida.
Also included was an intro to Sarmila Bose's book on East
Pakistan which undermines Indian and secular Bengali
propaganda against Pakistan.
Also included in the six pages was a summary of Dr.
Siddique's khutba against dictatorship in Egypt, Libya,
Syria etc and his analysis of the dire condition of women in
America. There was a note on Sis. Nadrat's great success as
a marathoner as well as an appeal to Min. Farrakhan to ask
Gaddafi not to use heavy weapons on civilians.
The final item was Br. Shamim Siddiqui's mind boggling
article titled: Hang Gaddafi!
During the distribution, a Jamaat representative kept
chanting: "Muslim world is rising up!" "Muslim world is
rising up!" [Try the chant. It works!]
The Kind of Teachers who can teach Students how to Learn
Excerpted from the writings of Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz
[
DrAAS.info
]
[Distinguished Professor of Mathematics and teacher of
teachers.]
" ... the most successful teachers in reaching, teaching and
inspiring all students to pursue excellence are those who:
-
go into their classrooms with the knowledge and
understanding of the subject to be taught and with the will
to teach all their students;
 -
come to believe that all students can learn and excel;
 -
accept the fact that all students need to know the part they
have played in the creation and development of knowledge;
 -
have the mind to come to know, love and respect their
students, and indeed, to be able to identify with their
students as their own;
 -
take their students as they come and then take them where
they want them to go, without ever blaming or attacking
their self-esteem for their lack of knowledge and
understanding;
 -
ever seek ways and means to inspire their students to work
more and more diligently in the pursuit of truth, which they
make come alive, and
 -
seize every opportunity to publicize their students' success
in the acquisition of knowledge.

All students (the experienced and inexperienced) readily
respond positively to these kinds of teachers, and they
learn how to learn, excel and learn to love the pursuit of
knowledge.
Needed For Jamaat al-Muslimeen's Peaceful Movement for
Change in America ....
Our supporters need to read Br. Shamim Siddiqui's books for
the organized effort needed to spread Islam in America.
He urges US Muslims to study Islam, imbibe its spiritual
values and evaluate themselves as Muslims. Americans are
looking for authentic Islam. Let us do our homework and do
Allah's work to win the hearts and minds of the American
people.
In his beautiful 160 page book The Dawah Program, Br. Shamim
[Long Island, New York], teaches us how to deal with
Christians and other non-Muslims. It is packed with
practical help for those who want Islam to win the people by
peaceful means. We can send it free to serious
activists.
Israel is the central source of Oppression in the Middle
East: Why is it ignored?
We have the "abused wife syndrome" in our nations.
Spotlights from Imam Badi Ali [National Islamic Shoora]
Jamaat al-Muslimeen, NC
Spotlight #1: Oppression is the topic of discussion in the
middle east but why is the central source of oppression,
ISRAEL, being ignored? It was to protect Israel that the
West supported all the dictators and tyrants.
Spotlight #2: The pillars of oppression are: Poverty,
Injustice and Ignorance.
Spotlight #3: Can you be neutral when a bear or a predator
is beating up a little bird? If you are too scared, at least
go to the third level of faith given in the Hadith: consider
it evil in your heart and make that truthful feeling an
investment in your view of life.
Spotlight #4: In the behavior of tyrants, we can see the
"abused wife syndrome." The tyrant abuses the wife but
considers it his right. Over time, the abused wife too
starts thinking that she deserves to be beaten and admires
the strength of the abuser. Such is the situation of Muslim
nations.

Dr. Siddique Addressses Academic Freedom, Holocaust Story,
Libya, 9.11
http://www.TruthJihadRadio.blogspot.com
Dr. Kaukab Siddique was on the Kevin Barrett show on March
30. Barrett is a convert to Islam who is famous for his
endorsement of "insider" theories about 9.11. He gave Dr.
Siddique complete freedom to have his say on a variety of
subjects for 50 minutes LIVE. Here is a summary of Dr.
Siddique's main points:
-
Corporate media are Zionist controlled and do not allow the
Islamic viewpoint to reach the American public. It's true
not only of TV but of print media as well. The New York
Times attacks Islam in a sophisticated way almost every day
but will not publish any Islamic rebuttal.
 -
Universities are the last bastion of freedom in American but
here too any viewpoint contradicting the Jewish holocaust
story can lead to dismissal or denial of promotion and/or
recognition.
 -
In September 2010 i spoke in Washington, DC about the need
to end Israel's occupation of Palestine by peaceful means,
such as worldwide boycott through Muslim unity. I was
subjected to retaliation by the combined forces of
International Jewry and Christian Zionism.
 -
It began with a right wing attack by a group claiming
victimhood owing to the 9.11 attacks.
 -
That was followed by a blast from Stackelbeck, from the
so-called Christian Broadcasting Network [CBN], and the
notorious hate monger Glenn Beck, and a whole list of
Christian zionists.
 -
When my attempt to undermine Israel's legitimacy did not
elicit public outrage, Jewish-Zionist groups dug up my
discussions of the holocaust story and tried to paint me as
"anti-semitic."
 -
Believe it or not, an entire bunch of state representatives
travelled to my university and pressured the university
president to get rid of me. The threat to withhold funds to
the university was projected against along with an
orchestrated campaign of Jewish hate.
 -
Even my tenured position would not have saved me, so
ruthless and arrogant this power structure happens to be.
However, I have deep roots in the Black community and both
students and faculty at my university know that I have a
track record of opposition to all forms of racism. The
Zionist attack on me was thus a total failure.
 -
Most ridiculous was the Zionist claim that I am
anti-semitic. I am semitic myself. I can't be anti myself,
while my Jewish and "Christian" [CBN] accusers are obviously
White and provably racist against Palestinians and Africans.
 -
My religion, Islam, forbids me to hate ANYONE. Jews and
Muslims were friends for centuries and we Muslims protected
them against the crusaders. But then the Jews under the
banner of Israel grabbed our land, Palestine, by force of
arms and they use American power to protect their
illegitimate entity.
 -
The holocaust story needs to be subjected to critical study
and close analysis. If the holocaust happened according to
the narrative of the victors of World War II, surely it
cannot be hurt by critical study. If it did not happen or
did not happen to the extent or in the form projected by the
accepted version, why do we have to insist on the horror
stories?
 -
I am not a holocaust expert but critics and scholars who are
not Nazis have made it difficult, if not impossible, for us
to accept the conventional wisdom of the victors.
Scholarship and authenticity will win out in spite of
censorship.
 -
About 9.11.
 -
I see the attacks as breakdown and failure of American
security and intelligence services.
 -
Most Muslims see US intelligence services as impeccable and
in complete control of things. The facts are otherwise. Bob
Woodward's book State of Denial contains massive
documentation of the confusion, chaos and futility within
the Bush administration. CIA director Tenet was totally
mistaken about Saddam's alleged WMDs and came up with the
claim that finding the WMDs would be a "slam dunk."
 -
US intelligence has almost always failed when dealing with
Muslims. Remember that the CIA could not figure out that an
old man with a long beard, Imam Khomeini, had the support of
the Iranian masses.
 -
EGYPT
 -
Now look at the 30 years of US collaboration with Egypt's
Hosni Mubarak and the intelligence chaos when the Egyptian
people rose up. The US rushed to change policies in
mid-stream and urged the military not to use force.
 -
LIBYA
 -
The final disaster for US intelligence is Libya. Gaddafi had
become America's buddy to help crush Islamic forces. Then
the Libyan people rose up. Gaddafi hit the defenseless
people with brutal force and killed hundreds. Obama did not
comment on Gaddafi's crimes for NINE days. Then he saw that
the Libyan people were not going to accept defeat and he
admonished Gaddafi in light tones.
 -
Gaddafi trusted America and had $30 billion in assets in the
US. His enemy is Islam.
 -
After 31 days, Obama started air strikes against America's
friend Gaddafi. It is an extremely opportunistic action and
the moral stance Obama has taken is unconvincing. Oil and
strategy are involved; not the welfare of the Libyan people.
The air strikes are not effective but could lead to gains
for the western powers in the region.
 -
Facebook shows the gathering of people against Israel. It
has been temporarily deleted but will reappear. The new
intifada could come come through facebook.

Letter: Muslim Woman's Brief Comment on Recent New Trend:
Hang Qaddafi, etc.
Thank you. A lot of good information - as usual.
Fatma B [Washington, DC]
Letter: Objection to the "Hang Qaddafi" Article
I propose we refrain from advocating hanging the bad guys (
see article by Shamim Siddiqui of Long Island). Not good.
Non-violence or justice, does not promote the best aspects
of Islam or any other holy tradition; it does nothing other
than inflame already very intense passions that obstruct the
making of peace. If we hang the bad guys willy-nilly we'll
have a long road in front of us and not many left to walk it
at the end

Letters:Re: Personal from the editor of New Trend: My
daughter is a marathoner!
Nadrat baytee! Salaam alaikum. Well done, and shabash. May
Allah Kareem bless you with a long life. You will see how
much good running does to a person's body. Having been a
distance runner and long distance walker I can say this from
personal experience. Believe you me, baytee, you will soon
start seeing the effects of this running on your heart and
systems. You make me proud.
Affectionately, Mir Salim Ullah [Pakistan]
[Ed. note: "baytee" is Urdu for daughter. Shabash is Urdu
for congratulations.]
Assalamualaikum bro Kaukab
Congratulations on your daughter running the marathon of 26
miles. Masha-Allah, that's impressive! Wish I can also do
something like that.
Jazakullahu Khair.

Correction:
Hijra from Makkah to Madinah was on camel, not on foot.
Dr. Omar Afzal [Ithaca, New York] has noted, re. our
marathon story, that Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, did his hijra
from Makkah to Madinah on camel back, not on foot. He is
correct. Here is the sequence of events:
The Prophet, pbuh, and Abu Bakr, r.a., walked three miles
from Makkah, going south to the mountain known as Thaur.
They climbed the mountain and then slid down into a dark and
deep cave. They stayed there for three nights. Every night
Asma, r.a., brought them skimpy but healthy food, walking
three miles, climbing the mountain and then going back three
miles. Thus she walked a total of 18 miles in the rough
desert in three days.
The hiding place was in the south of Makkah, while Madinah
is in the north. This was done to fool the oppressors. They
even tried the south and came close to finding the two but
finally gave up. Then a camel driver brought two camels on
which the messenger and his closest friend rode to Madinah.
The heat was intense and it took tremendous physical
endurance to complete the journey. [The best narrative on
hijra, based on Hadith, is in Maulana Maudoodi's Seerate
Sarware Alam, salAllahoalaihiwassalam, Vol. 2, October 1978,
in the Urdu language.]
This may be why the US is opting out of Military Operations
in Libya
Obama did not Understand Gaddafi till it was too Late
March 17: LONDON (Reuters) - Al Qaeda's most influential
English-language preacher said revolts sweeping the Arab
world would help rather than harm its cause by giving
Islamists freed from tyranny greater scope to speak out.
Western and Arab officials say the example set by young
Arabs seeking peaceful political change is a counterweight
to al-Qaeda's push for violent militancy and weakens its
argument that democracy and Islam are incompatible.
But al Qaeda preacher Anwar al-Awlaki, in an article
published online on Tuesday, said the removal of
anti-Islamist autocrats meant Islamic fighters and scholars
were now freer to discuss and organize.
"Our mujahideen brothers in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and the
rest of the Muslim world will get a chance to breathe again
after three decades of suffocation," he wrote, using a term
that refers generally to Islamic guerrilla groups or holy
warriors.
"For the scholars and activists of Egypt to be able to speak
again freely, it would represent a great leap forward for
the mujahideen," wrote Awlaki, an American of Yemeni origin
who is believed to be hiding in southern Yemen.
He said it did not matter what sort of government succeeded
Arab autocrats, as these were unlikely to be as repressive.
Imagining that only a Taliban-style regime would benefit al
Qaeda was "a too short term way" of looking at events.
"We do not know yet what the outcome would be (in any given
country), and we do not have to. The outcome doesn't have to
be an Islamic government for us to consider what is
occurring to be a step in the right direction," he said.
Revolts break fear "barriers"
"In Libya, no matter how bad the situation gets and no
matter how pro-Western or oppressive the next government
proves to be, we do not see it possible for the world to
produce another lunatic of the same caliber of the Colonel
(Gaddafi)."
Awlaki said the revolts had broken "the barriers of fear"
among Muslims whose "defeatism" under tyranny had deepened
after Algeria's crushing of an Islamist uprising in the
1990s.
Awlaki made his remarks in the fifth edition of "Inspire,"
an online al Qaeda magazine aimed at Muslims in the West.
The publication is produced by al Qaeda in the Arabian
Peninsula (AQAP), an arm of al Qaeda responsible for the
group's most spectacular attempted attacks in recent
years
