Personal from the editor of New Trend: My daughter is a marathoner!

This morning, March 25, my daughter Nadrat ran the 26.2 mile national marathon in Washington, DC. Her timing was 3 hours and 52 minutes which bested her own record by 7 minutes. She was there for the run at 6.30 in the morning.

She wore a shirt with the flag of PALESTINE on it, reminding Americans of the occupation.

Most of us cannot walk 26 miles, let alone run it. Let us try to improve our life style. It is sunnah to walk long distances. The Prophet, pbuh, walked all the way from Makkah to Taif. The three day/night hijrah to Madinah by the Prophet, pbuh, and Abu Bakr, r.a., was also on foot.

Muhammad, pbuh, and Ayesha, r.a., were good runners and competed with each other in running. [See Hadith.]

The Real Spark behind the Uprising in Libya

On June 29, 1996 Qaddafi's forces massacred nearly 1200 prisoners in the Abu Saleem prison in Tripoli, Libya. Most of them were Islamic political prisoners who were protesting against the stifling and unbearable prison conditions.

For years, the relatives of the executed prisoners were not informed of their deaths. In 2002 the horror of Qaddafi's crime came out and slowly percolated through Libyan society. Islam, instead of being crushed, became stronger than ever in Libya. [Islam is reborn after every Kerbala, as the poet said.] However, Qaddafi's reign of terror was such that no one dared to speak out within Libya.

It was the inspiration from Afghanistan's fight against America which gave new faith to the Libyan people, and a little over a month ago, they rose up against Qaddafi regardless of his terror squads. [Many Libyans are reported by US media to have left Libya since 9.11 and joined Shaykh Osama. Some, according to wire services, were killed in US air strikes against the Taliban.]

No one could have expected a woman from India, PhD from Harvard, teaching at Oxford, to deliver such a devastating blow to the propaganda of India and Bengali secularists against Pakistan.

The tragedy of East Pakistan in 1971 was a victory for India and the secularized Bengali elites. The Pakistani army sometimes behaved as if it was an occupation army, just as it is doing today in Frontier Province and Baluchistan. Bengali nationalists, backed by India and Bengali Hindus, wrought havoc among Bihari Muslims who supported Pakistan. The worst sufferers were Bengali Muslims who supported Pakistan, most of them from Jamaate Islami. The Pakistani army abandoned them and surrendered to the Indian army. The Pakistani troops fought bravely against heavy odds but were betrayed by their generals

The understanding that the enemy of Bangladesh is India, not Pakistan, is now widely accepted in Bangladesh and Jamaate Islami has been largely rehabilitated. However, recently, pro-India elements have become dominant again in the power structure and have put Islamic scholars of Jamaate Islami on trial as "traitors."

Secularist Bengalis, backed by India and worldwide Zionists, have grossly exaggerated the crimes of the army so that the propaganda against Pakistan has reached epic proportions, almost at the level of the Jewish holocaust story.

The complete secularist control of the story of East Pakistan as publicized by India, has been dealt a fatal blow by Sarmila Bose. She has already published a series of articles with detailed research which brings out the real suffering of East Pakistan. The army committed atrocities but largely remained disciplined. The stories of rape of Bengali women by the army were almost wholly concocted by Mukti Bahini, the terrorist group organized by India which was itself carrying out mass killings of Bihari Muslims loyal to Pakistan.

Bose's book will be of great importance as it will undermine the Indian-secularist attempts to make sure that Pakistan and Bangladesh do not become friends again.

Bangladesh has one of the largest populations of Muslims in the world. It is a strategic blunder for the Muslim world to abandon such a huge population. During my trips to Bangladesh, I saw that most Bengalis are deeply imbued with love of Islam. Let us embrace our Bengali ummah. The army generals tore them away from us and cut the Islamic roots of Pakistan with help from India. Today Islamic scholars of the highest moral character are being tried by the pro-India government of Bangladesh and the global ummah remains silent.

Madonna's Charity Fails in Bid to Finance School Madonna's plans to build a $15 million girls school in Malawi have fallen through amid allegations of lavish expenditures for directors of the project, reports the New York Times. The pop star and her fellow Kabbalah followers set up a charity, Raising Malawi, to oversee Madonna's charitable ventures in the African country. On Thursday, it was announced that the charity's board of directors had been expelled after it came to light that extraordinary sums had been squandered on cars, free housing, salaries, and a golf course membership for school officials. $3.8 million has already been spent on the terminated school project, which would have educated 400 girls. My name is Bradley Smith and my website, Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust, is at www.codoh.com. I'd like to introduce myself to your readers at New Trend.

In December, 2006, I delivered a talk in Teheran at the now infamous Holocaust Conference. The title of the talk was: "The Irrational Vocabulary of the American Professorial Class with Regard to the Holocaust Question."

With this talk I focused on how the American professoriate, Jew and Gentile alike, has made of the Holocaust question a taboo matter. No American professor, Gentile or Jew, will allow himself to make the mistake of addressing the Holocaust question from a perspective that is not approved of by those, inside and outside the university, who administer them. It only follows that what the professor himself will not dare to address openly, he will not allow his students to address openly.

Why does it matter? Those who address the Holocaust story with such abandon, who gain so much political and monetary profit from it, exploit the story to morally justify U.S./Israeli policies against the Palestinian people.
At the Teheran Conference it was surprising how often one heard the word "Palestine." In the talks, from the audience, in the hallways. That was in 2006, the Iraq war was in a serious phase with a great deal of violence. I had expected to hear the word "Iraq" a lot. But what I heard again and again was "Palestine." The primary languages were Farsi, Arab, and English. "Palestine" was the same in all of them. It was in Teheran that December where I understood that Palestine is the primary issue challenging the Muslim and Western worlds at this moment in time.

If the reader goes to the text of my talk, he or she will find that I do not attack Jews as human beings, but address an American professoriate, Jew and gentile alike, that is unwilling to allow themselves, or their students, to address either the Holocaust question itself, or how it is exploited by the U.S./Israeli alliance to morally justify inhuman policies toward, particularly but not exclusively, Palestinians.
The American professorial class, on this issue, betrays the intent of Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and betrays the ideals of intellectual freedom and free expression of the university itself.

I would like to give an updated draft of the talk I gave at the Teheran Conference to Muslim audiences in Southern California. I wonder if there are some who read New Trend who might be able to put me in touch with a person or persons who can help me arrange such an affair.

Suppressing free and open discussion on any subject is as bad as telling lies, and knowingly suppressing the truth is the biggest lie of all, because it is based, not on a mistake or a genuine error, but on a deliberate intention to deceive.

Having been tortured, Rudolf Höss, who was the commander of Auschwitz from 1940 to 1943, almost certainly lied in his 'confession' and testimony to save the lives of his wife and children. Even if torture and duress cannot not be proven, the overwhelming reason for recognizing the utter falsity of the Höss confession is that the gassing method he described was not scientifically plausible.

Yet Höss's conviction has stood, by inference, as a testament to the cruelty of Germans in general, since he was tried at Nuremberg, in 1947, and subsequently hanged on April 16th, 1947, in Poland.

At the same time that helpless Muslim civilians in more than one Muslim/Arab country are being victimized and crushed without mercy by the West and by their own "Muslim" leaders, there are some novel and interesting ironies appearing simultaneously on the world stage.
While some politicians in the West have been "bull-horning" their warnings against Iran for its nuclear reactors, it was in Japan that the real nuclear threats to the world erupted. So, it was politics and not concern for the welfare of humanity that was behind these western leaders political maneuvers. The schemers, as it were, have been out-schemed by a Higher Power.
The decision of some western countries to intervene in Libya with "mightier" military power "to protect Libyan civilians" is actually killing Libyans on the ground. The realities on the ground are speaking louder than the "honorable" statements of western leaders. In fact it is exposing the absurdities and dishonesty and true evil intents/nature of both western leaders and the Arab rulers who joined in. Could there be another reason for this firepower from the skies such as "protecting" Israel besides grabbing the much needed oil?
Another irony may be hiding behind the stage at this time such as an out-of-control disaster that may cause the victimizers to flee from the regions that they are attempting to grab.
Perhaps, the 100th attribute of Allah SWT is "the Creator of Ironies."

Min. Farrakhan is powerful as usual.

I agree with him about opposing intervention in Libya. The situation is going to change as it did in Iraq, inshallah.

However, the minister is too kind to Col. Gaddafi. The colonel has been using tanks, artillery and jet aircraft against the Islamic people of eastern Libya. Gaddafi is definitely not interested in Islam or the Muslim ummah.

Just before the uprising started, he was with America and invested $30 billion in America.

I see the future with Islamic forces, not with Gaddafi.

Please ask Min. Farrakhan to ask Gaddafi to stop using heavy weapons against Muslims. They are not al-Qaida. They want to replace him with an Islamic state.

America and Gaddafi are both wrong. Islam is the coming power. Min. Farrakhan does not see that. Libyans who are opposing Gaddafi are Africans too.

Use of force by each party will finally open up the gates to the real Al-Qaida.

I was searching for more info on the opportunistic attacks on Libya, when I decided to see what Farrakhan had to say. I 'think' a few years ago he and the NOI received a million or so dollars from Gaddafi.

I try to pass info on to my email contacts, because it is so difficult to get honest reporting-especially during such a crisis where Muslims are suffering. I sent out your New Trend newsletter on the 20th; it was very informative, but very long. Most people are lazy and dislike reading. I am sure that of my 150 contacts only 1/4 of them read your excellent analysis of the situation.

I have no way of contacting the Final Call; you have the knowledge and the clout. Minister Farrakhan may appreciate your interest and information- especially since he knows that he will not receive anymore money from Libya.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see that Gaddafi and his ilk (Saddam, Noreiga and many other so called 3rd world leaders) who have dallied with the shaitanis of the west are then gobbled up when they are no longer useful- or when the opportunity arises. That is the nature of the beast. I am wondering why the Sudan has not fallen yet to the ravages of the proletariat -or has it fallen to the vote of separation.

It is neither foolish nor unconstitutional.

Gaddafi is a usurper. He dethroned King Idrees illegally, resumed all the powers like a dictator, prohibiting all human rights and misusing all the wealth and resources of the country for his personal ends, greed and caprices. He has ruled for the last 42 years like a "mad" man without holding any democratic process in the country and still wants to cling to power. He must be put to trial and hanged to death in the thoroughfare of Tripoli.

He is an idiot # !. In fact,the Arab league should be the first to try and hang him. But since it is an impotent body, it has no courage to say a word against its own constituent members - Kings, Sheikhs and Presidents, it requested the UN to drag him down through the western powers.

But it is a different situation that even the "No-Fly Zone" is not going to damage the position of the tyrant of Libya. It cannot remove him from power. Gaddafi is expanding on the ground and Allies are flying in the air with their might. - a monstrous joke of 21 century of no loss and no gain but only shame.

Shame for the timid Arab League; Shame for the UN and Shame for the Muslim world and its most worthless leadership..

US Pastor's Desecration of Qur'an Condemned.

LAHORE, Mar. 23: The Jamaat e Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, said a coterie of thieves and plunderers was holding the country as hostage and was talking of "saving the system" only to protect its corruption and ill-gotten wealth. President Zardari has sold away Pakistan's independence and sovereignty in America's hands, he said, while addressing a Ijtema of the JI Lahore at Wahdat Road park on the historic Pakistan Day.

The JI secretary General, Liaquat Baloch, deputy chief, Sirajul Haq, Punjab chief, Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees and Ameerul Azeem, also addressed. the crowd Thousands of men, women and children attended the Ijtema. Later, the participants rallied at Wahdat Road to condemn the desecration of the Holy Quran by devilish American pastor Terry Jones. Holding copies of the Quran in their hands, the participants vowed to lay down their lives to protect the sanctity of the divine book.

Syed Munawar Hasan said the US had handcuffed Pakistan through the IMF and the World Bank, and added that prosperity could not be achieved through foreign loans which were got only to bolster personal bank deposits. Syed Munawar Hasan said the Army chief, who had remained asleep over 250 drone attacks, had now tried to deceive the nation through crocodile tears.

He said, the Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had freed CIA spy Raymond Davis on the direction of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He further said that the US, having suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Afghans, was now trying to destabilise this country through Indian and Israeli agents with the intent to make a case for placing our nuclear assets under international control.

The JI chief said the present awakening in the Muslim world was an expression of hatred for the US policies, and the US slaves were facing the public wrath everywhere. He said, the Pakistani nation would have to stand by the patriotic forces to defend its independence and sovereignty. He said, the JI had a long history of struggle and sacrifices for the country and the nation since independence and was the only party that could steer the country out of the present mess as its leadership and cadres were free from corruption and loot.

The JI, he said had begun a mass contact drive to seek public support and he was confident that no power on earth could now stop a grand Islamic revolution in the country.
He said the army and the rulers had deprived the people of basic needs; lawlessness, price spiral and unemployment had made the people's life miserable. Hundreds of factories were closed due to load shedding of gas and electricity. People were committing suicide due to poverty whereas the rulers were competing each other to win Washington's pleasure.

Addressing the Ijtema, the JI Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch, said that it was the military establishment that was ruling the country as those claiming two third majority had been driven out of the parliament.

JI deputy chief, Sirajul Haq said that the rulers who were enjoying luxurious living were trying to snatch the last morsel of food from the masses. President Zardari had 114 billion rupees in foreign banks while Mian Nawaz Sharif's foreign deposits ran to Rs. 149 billion, he pointed out.
The JI Punjab chief, Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, said that since 9/11, the world at large was a prey to US terrorism. He said the nation would have to support the JI with full resolve and determination for a real change.



Pakistan Rises Up against Desecration of the Qur'an in the USA

LAHORE, Mar. 25: A countrywide protest was held on Friday against the desecration of the Holy Quran by a devilish American pastor, on the appeal of the Jamaat e Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan,

The Ulema and scholars addressing Friday congregations at mosques, condemned pastor Terry Jones' blasphemous act and called upon the Muslim world to lodge strong protest on this score in the UN General Security Council.

Speakers addressing protest rallies demanded that Terry Jones be hanged for disrupting world peace and the US envoy in the country be expelled immediately as persona non grata. Protest rallies were held in big and small cities and towns.

Syed Munawar Hasan, addressing a huge gathering at Jamia, ul- Uloom, Multan, said that the US was heading for a clash of civilizations and was bent upon destroying world peace. He said, pastor Terry Jones was indulging in blasphemy on Pentagon's bidding because the west had been maddened by the increasing trend of the western public towards Islam and the Quran. However, he said, the western powers would not be able to contain this tide by desecrating the Quran and profanity of the Holy Prophet as the humanity in search of peace and happiness would ultimately find refuge in the Holy Prophet of Islam.

Speaking on the occasion, JI Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch, said that if the US failed to take appropriate action against Terry Jones, the whole world could be in flames and the US and Europe too won't be safe.

JI central leader, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, addressing the Juma congregation at Syed Maudoodi Institute in Lahore, said the US pastor's act was unpardonable and this should make the world realise as to who are the terrorists. He however believed that such nefarious acts would only make the western people to study the Quran which in turn would win over their hearts. Hafiz Muhammad Idrees noted that even Pakistani Christians had condemned the incident which was appreciated by Muslims.

In Islamabad, a protest rally was held at Aabpara which was led by the deputy chief, JI Punjab, Mian Muhammad Aslam and JI Rawalpindi chief, Sajjad Abbasi. Rallies were also held at Sargodha, Sahiwal, Okara, D.G.Khan, and Pakpattan.
In Lahore, another protest rally was held at Multan Road. The JI Lahore chief, Amirul Azeem, while addressing the rally, said that Terry Jones was neither a Christian nor a pastor, he was a CIA and White House agent who was making calculated efforts to plunge the world in a war so that the US could sell its arms and ammunition.

He said the US was avenging its defeat in Afghanistan by killing innocent and peaceful citizens and also by profaning the holy Propeht [pbuh]. He said the drone manufacturing US company was selling its drones after spending billions on publicity so as to remove every hurdle in the US expansionist designs.

In the Sindh province, rallies were held at Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Sukkur and several other towns. The Karachi rally was led by senior JI leader Prof. Ghafoor Ahmed and JI Karachi chief, Muhammad Husain Mehnati.

In Baluchistan, protest rallies were held at Zhob, Mandokhel, Khuzdar, Noshki, Chamman, Lasbela, and Panjgoor.

In Khyber Province, rallies were held at Naushsera, Buner, Swat, and Kohat where the speakers demanded that Terry Jones be hanged for desecration of the Quran. They also called for severing all ties with the US.

Action Alert: Egypt - IHRC calls for the release of Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman and his return to Egypt

1. Summary

IHRC urges campaigners to write letters to the Supreme Council of Armed Forces

(SCAF) in Egypt, demanding that they work to ensure that Islamic scholar Dr.

Omar Abdul Rahman is released.

The US government imprisoned Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman on fabricated charges,

sentencing him to a life in 1995.

2. Background

Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman is an elderly Egyptian sheikh, imprisoned in the United States in 1995 through sedition laws last used during the American civil war. He is now 73 years of age, and his health has deteriorated significantly. There is a high chance that he may die soon, and his family have requested for him to be able to spend his last moments with them in Egypt.

His family held a protest in front of the headquarters of the Egyptian Armed Forces on Friday 25th March 2011, calling upon Chief of the Armed Forces, Marshal Tantawi, to demand the immediate release and return of Sheikh Abdul Rahman to his country.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman was imprisoned several times in Egypt in 1970 and 1981 for 3 years. He left Egypt in 1990 after facing security restrictions and being put under house arrest for a year. Three years after arriving in the US, he was arrested on de-contextualised evidences and sentenced to a life sentence.

The elderly Islamic scholar, educated at the prestigious al-Azhar University in Cairo, and unceremoniously dubbed by the media as the Godfather of the Islamic Group, has been a harsh critic of the regime of Hosni Mubarak. He has welcomed initiatives by the Islamic Group to stop the violence currently taking place in Egypt.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman spent 18 years under solitary confinement, and is restricted from having visitors.

His lawyer Lynne Stewart, the only person granted permission to visit the elderly Sheikh, was also convicted and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for relaying messages between the Sheikh and his family.

His family has only been granted a visitation once in the last 18 years. Their efforts of gaining a visa to visit him more often were on every occasion denied.

His health has deteriorated substantially, as he suffers from many illnesses and is confined to a wheelchair. He was reportedly subject to physical abuse by the prison guards, and subjected to strip searches every time he has a visitor.

IHRC calls for the immediate release of Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman, and his safe return to his family in Egypt.

3. Action required

Write to the Supreme Council of Armed Forces requesting them to urge the US government to release Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman immediately, and return him safely to Egypt.

Re: The release of Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman from US prisons I am very concerned about the current health situation of the Egyptian national Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, who has been unjustly serving a life sentence, having spent 18 years in solitary confinement in a US prison.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman is an elderly and frail man, and a very well respected scholar from Al-Azhar. His imprisonment is an insult to the Egyptian government, and to the Al-Azhar institution that no representation has been made for his immediate release by the Egyptian government despite this miscarriage of justice against an Egyptian national in the United States courts. He is currently suffering from serious illnesses including diabetes and heart problems.

Physician reports state that 'his overall prognosis is poor and he is confined to a wheelchair.'

The family of Sheikh Omar have been repeatedly denied visitation rights over the past 18 years.

I am deeply concerned about the state of his health, which has deteriorated under the poor conditions in a US prison. I request that you to call upon the US government to secure his release and return him to his country Egypt. Please use your authority, as head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forced, which heads the provisional government of Egypt, to call for his immediate release.
