In July,
Br. Kaukab Siddique
gave the Juma'
khutba in Laurel, Maryland.
There was a little hitch in the decision making
for the khutba when someone
told the organizers of Juma' prayers that Br.
Siddique was opposed to
ICNA
and
had criticized Jamaat-e-Islami of
Pakistan
(10 years back). On the intervention
of a respected brother, the khutba went
through. There were also some concerns
that the speaker may be too outspoken and there
have been FBI raids in the
area on Muslims. Here are the main points of the
khutba:
TEXT: " No bearer of burdens shall bear the
burden of another."

1. The Hereafter is more important than this
world. Tawheed and Risalat must
be strongly linked to the concept of Akhirat.
2. O Allah! Help the Muslims to get rid of fears
and suspicions in their minds
and fill our hearts with Your fear!
3. It is the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) to know
the people among whom we
live. We must study America and understand who
are our potential friends and who
are our enemies.
4. The ZIONIST PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN has been a
TOTAL failure. Day and night
the Zionists on TV, Radio and newspapers have
labored to turn Americans against
Islam and Muslims. They have used their best
minds. What's the result? Half a
dozen attacks on mosques by nuts and crazies over
one year 10 months. No
Muslim killed in any proven hate crime.
5. If the people of America were against us, we
would not have been able to
hold this Juma'a. So take the idea out of your
minds that Americans hate us or
that we are in danger.
6. By contrast, the persecution is coming from
the U.S. government. The
people could not be aroused, so the government
had to do it itself. The FBI is busy
hunting Muslims on the flimsiest pretexts.
7. Do not try to cringe in front of or beg the
government. Zionist
Jews
are
never impressed by people who say: We are miskeen
(good guys), please forgive
us. Stand for your rights and fight for your
rights in an organized way.
8. Look at the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh). He
even knew which tribe's sheep
had more hair. Read the
Hadith.
Here we have
Muslims trying to please the
people in the power structure while we ignore the
millions who are our
potential friends, like the African-Americans,
the Hispanics,
the Women,
people of
German
origin, people of conscience in general,
etc.
9. Do not break the law and do not use rhetoric
which is just strong
emotional words. Staying within the law does not
mean that you join the Democratic
Party or start bloc voting for the next man in
the White House. Understand how
the Prophet (pbuh) gave his message. You cannot
improve a mess by becoming part
of it (unless you are looking for morsels).
10. You have the RIGHT TO SPEAK, WRITE, ASSEMBLE
and ORGANIZE. No one is
stopping you from condemning the bombing of
Iraq
and
Afghanistan
or opposing
Israel.
Do it and do it in clear language. Don't
be trying to shelter behind
anti-war non-Muslims.
11. Under the law you have the right to support
the children of Iraq. Just
make sure that the organization you are donating
to is legal and all it's papers
have been properly processed.
12. Children have no politics. It is not right
that the children of
Palestine
should die because their families oppose Israel,
or the children of Iraq
should die because their parents do not accept
"liberation" by the U.S. We must
help the children but find legal ways to do so.
We are part of the worldwide
family of Islam and cannot be just sitting here
crying while there are legal ways
to help the children.
