ISRA wal MAIRAJ: Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) Journey to Jerusalem & High Heavens

The Qur'an
refers to the mystic journey of Muhammad (peace be on him) to
Masjid al-Aqsa.
The Hadith tells us that this was the mosque in Jerusalem which Muhammad (pbuh)
reached in a miraculous journey by night. From this mosque, he had his
Ascension or Mairaj during which he was taken through seven heavenly
dimensions to the "Presence" of Allah Almighty.
The Hadith is rich in its metaphorical descriptions of Paradise and Hell
which were "shown" to Muhammad (peace be on him) during his Ascension.
The Mairaj is also connected with the finalization of the
FIVE DAILY PRAYERS for Muslims.
Just about every little detail in the Hadith about Isra and Mairaj is of
extreme importance for Muslims, including the fact that the Prophet
(pbuh) had taken refuge in a woman's home from where he began his trip
when he was granted the audience with Allah Almighty.
Just about every great Islamic thinker, writer, scholar has written about
the significance of this unique journey BEYOND SPACE and TIME, some of the
most powerful poetry on the subject coming from Allama Iqbal who was
seminally touched by the power of the HADITH of the Prophet (pbuh).

ISRAEL has tried to deny the validity of the Prophet's journey.
International Jewry and crazies among evangelical Christians want to
destroy the mosque. In a recent expression of hate, President
Bush's
"adviser" Daniel Pipes claimed that there was no
Masjid al-Aqsa
in Jerusalem and it had been built later by an Ummayed king! Such
distortions about the THIRD MOST SACRED ISLAMIC site indicate that
International Jewry and Islam are dead set on a collision course.
Masjid al-Aqsa today is under Jewish occupation as is all of
Palestine.
Islamic scholars say, it is the sacred duty of every Muslim in the world
to liberate Jerusalem, purify the Mosque of the abuse it has endured and
to drive the Jews out of Palestine.
[Islam has no quarrel with Jews who want to live as a peaceful minority in
Palestine as they did for centuries under Islamic rule. Military
occupation, however, will be removed by military force, as history shows.]
From among the Muslims, the western powers have produced a secularized
elite who deny the authenticity of Hadith. These brainwashed potential
COLLABORATORS have also started spreading the claim that Masjid al-Aqsa
is not in Jerusalem.
The confusion arises because the Jews refer to the Mosque as "the Temple."
The Qur'an refers only to the MASJID (or Mosque) and not to any Temple.
The secularized Muslims are confused because they do not read the Quranic
verses after the reference to Masjid al-Aqsa. Hence They DO NOT see the
second reference to the Masjid in the same chapter of the Qur'an.
When the Muslims took Jerusalem, there was no "Temple" there and they
built the Mosque at the sacred site of the original prayer area [masjid]
from which Muhammad (pbuh) ascended into the heavens and to which he
returned. The later building of a mosque on the SITE OF THE MAIRAJ by an
Ummayad ruler was not a new mosque but a restoration of the mosque
mentioned in the Qur'an and the Hadith.
