U.S. ADMITS AL-QAEDA REGROUPING: New bombing not getting anywhere
Afghans tricked U.S. into Search for Mullah Omar in Baghran area
"A fool and his money are soon parted" (Pashtun proverb) working on
U.S.
{In our next issue, as we continue eyewitness account of Pakistan,
we'll have
an interview with a top Islamic leader, Syed Munawar Hasan, interim
Ameer of
Jamaate Islami Pakistan.}
After the Tora Bora bombing spree, the U.S., led by Rumsefield and
Stufflebeem, had assured the world that Al-Qaeda is "finished."
Pakistani
coup leader and self-appointed "president" Musharraf had declared that
Osama
might well be dead. Rumsfield ruminated that Osama is probably in a
cave
sealed up by bombs.
Then came the video from Osama, an Osama haggard from praying and
fasting in Ramadan, in which he reported the U.S. bombing of a mosque
in
which Taraveeh prayers were going on. It was a slap in the face of
those who
said he was dead.
Even then Americans thought that the video might be a farewell
message
and nothing is left of Al-Qaeda.
Today, January 7, 2002, the U.S. finally admitted that Al-Qaeda
is not
only NOT finished but is actually trying to regroup on the
Pakistan-Afghan
border.
The U.S. reported a second day of severe bombing near Miran Shah
on the
Pakistan frontier. Looks like the U.S. was lured into bombing some old
tanks
and APCs and thought that it had struck an Al-Qaeda force.
Earlier on January 3, 2002, the U.S. media announced vociferously
that
Mullah Omar was about to be captured and his "surrender" was being
negotiated. Four days later, Mullah Omar is nowhere to be found and the
"surrender" negotiations were between Afghan tribes and a Taliban
formation
to end chances of mutual strife.
{"Surrender" in Pashtun terms means that one force decides not to
fight
for a certain high ground and allows the opposing force to take over.
The
"surrender" is that of a defensive position, not of men or weapons.
Kandahar
was "surrendered" to mullah Naqibullah, but the Taliban themselves did
not
surrender.}
Looks like the U.S. media have unknowingly absorbed some jokes
put out
by the Pashtuns. The media (be it CNN, MSNBC or FOX) have not yet
realized
that the Pashtuns are playing with them. One story is that "Mullah Omar
escaped on a motorbike." The other one is that "both his legs are
injured and
he cannot walk without help." The dupes of these stories do not realize
that
the two stories are contradictory!
The final admission by the cut-throat Karzai clique in Kabul is
that
Mullah Omar was never in the Baghran area and Karzai really does not
know
where is the legendary mullah!
THE WILY PASHTUNS ARE PLAYING GAMES WITH THE CIA, putting out
stories
about Mullah Omar and Al-Qaeda sightings to make money. {Give me $10
and I'll
take you to someone who can tell you about the mullah, says one wise
guy. The
second one says, give me a $100 dollars and I'll help you further. The
third
one says, give me $10,000 and I'll organize a force to go capture
Mullah Omar
and on and on it goes.}
The Pashtuns are beginning to understanding the Americans who
think
dollars and bombers is a winning combination. So the cynical mountain
people
take the dollars and tell the Americans to bomb an empty mountain range
where
"al-Qaeda are holed up."
{Remember that cartoon character, the dog who wants to catch the
fox?
The fox appears in disguise. The dog asks him: Where did he go? and the
fox
says: that-a-way, that-a-way, making the dog run around in circles. The
CIA
is that dog.}
As the Pashtuns say: A fool and his money are soon parted.

AFTER THREE MONTHS OF BOMBING, October 7 to January 7, the U.S. has
captured
neither Mullah Omar nor Osama nor al-Zawahiri. Now the U.S. admits that
al-Qaeda is re-grouping IN AFGHANISTAN. As Mao, Ho Chi Minh and Guevara
pointed out, if a guerilla force survives attack by an overwhelming
conventional military power, it has WON strategically. The Muslim world
has
hardly started to fight. For Muslims, this is neither the end, nor the
beginning of the end, but only the end of the beginning.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The U.S. has imprisoned (on a warship) the venerable Taliban ambassador
Mullah Abdus Salam Zaeef as captive handed over by the KHAIN Musharraf
regime. Handing over an ambassador to a third party is unheard of in
the
history of civilization. Musharref is getting involved in gross
violation of
basic decency. The Taliban are the friends of Pakisan. They never hurt
the
U.S. either. Such gross violations will simply lead to the invocation
of the
Islamic-Pashtun concept of BADAL or retaliation. The Pashtuns honor
guests
and ambassadors. Such treatment of an honored ambassador, respected
throughout the Muslim world, is a blot on Muslim history.
