Anti-Imperialist Forces Must Support Afghanistan
500,000 Afghans Face Death Owing to U.S. Sanctions

June 13, 2001 witnessed an event which was ugly and funny at the
same
time. The U.S. House of Representatives passed a unanimous resolution,
420-0,
condemning Afghanistan for its actions against women and Hindus. {420
in
Pakistan means "fraud."} Speaker after speaker, wearing the saffron
Hindu
symbol, spoke against the Taliban who have brought peace and unity to
90% of
Afghanistan. The speakers went to extremes in their condemnation, so
much so
that they sounded funny and grotesque:
1. One speaker claimed that AFGHANISTAN is a danger to the stability of
THE
WHOLE WORLD.
2. Another one compared the tokens the Hindus have to wear in
Afghanistan to
the Star the Jews had to wear in Nazi Germany.
THE CRUSADERS and the ZIONISTS were united as never before. The growing
power
of the Hindu lobby in USA was also quite evident.

What should be the Muslim response to Afghanistan? First and
foremost
we must give up the idea propagated by AMC, CAIR etc that if we try to
please
the U.S. government by condemning the Taliban, the U.S. will stop its
aggression against Afghanistan. That's a non-starter.
We must understand the causes of the U.S. campaign against
Afghanistan.
The U.S. is prepared to let 500,000 Afghans die of starvation and
disease for
the following reasons:
1. ANY ISLAMIC REGIME IN KABUL WILL BECOME A RALLYING POINT FOR THE
MUSLIM
WORLD.
1a. Remember that the U.S. would not recognize the government of Prof.
Burhanuddin Rabbani when it was in control of Kabul. Instead it
encouraged
Hikmatyar to try to take Kabul by force, thus weakening both Rabbani
and
Hikmatyar
1b. Before that the U.S. weakened Hikmatyar by encouraging him to carry
out a
conventional attack on Jalalabad.
Thus for proper understanding of U.S. policies we must see the U.S.
strategy:
It will never support a government in Kabul which has any adherence to
Islam. So the issue is not the Taliban's policies but the strategy of the
U.S.
2. The U.S. sees Islam as a threat to its hegemony across the world.
The
resurgence of Islam would oppose the
capitalistic/multinational-corporation
of the world. There are good economic reasons for this anti-Islam
strategy:
2a. Afghans wear their indigenous clothes, turbans, baggy dresses. The
women
are not allowed to copy Paris and New York. The chances of selling
consumer
goods to people influenced by Afghanistan are very low.
2b. The spreading of Afghan influence into Pakistan and across the
Muslim
world and Africa would hurt the marketing of American-style business
stuff.
2c. The sale of blue movies and western attitudes/goods/fashions which
is
burgeoning in Pakistan is destroying the Pakistani allegiance to Islam.
The
victory of Afghanistan could reverse this trend.
3. Refuge for Osama bin Laden has exposed the hypocrisy of Saudi
Arabia. The
U.S. considers Osama a terrorist and is ready that if necessary all of
Afghanistan is to be destroyed to capture and humiliate Osama.
3a. The Saudis claim to be an Islamic regime but Osama's defection has
shown
the world that the Saudis are linked to U.S. imperialism. The Muslims
recognize Osama as an Islamic hero: by the same token the Saudis
working with
the U.S. against him are the ENEMIES OF AUTHENTIC ISLAM
FACTS ABOUT AFGHANISTAN:
1. One Million Martyrs in the Jihad against the Russians.
2. No reparations have been paid to Afghanistan by Russia (instead
Russia has
been helped by the U.S.)
3. Constant efforts by the U.S. to destabilize Afghanistan.
4. The Taliban were originally brought as just another group which
would
complicate the internal turmoil in the country.
5. When the Taliban showed their independence, the U.S. turned against
them.
6. The stories about oppression of women by the Taliban are largely
fabrications of the Zionist media and were started when the Taliban
refused
to kow-tow
7. The Taliban have been excessively strict against the women of Kabul
but
this was a pro-Communist city which they took by storm. In that
context,
their behavior towards the conquered population has been very decent.
8. The little yellow sticker which Hindus have been asked to wear is
meant to
protect the Hindus against the strict rules applied to Muslims. It's
like the
"handicapped" sign on cars in USA which allows such people to park in
places
where others cannot park. Another example is that of the Amish people
who
drive horse buggies on motorways but their dresses and their buggies
are
identifiable so that no one will bother them for clogging the road.
(The zionist ploy that the little sticker is like the Nazis putting a
star on
the Jews is absurd. It simply shows that the anti-Afghan moves are
being
directed by the Jews.)

IS AFGHANISTAN AN ISLAMIC STATE UNDER THE TALIBAN? It obviously is an
Islamic
state according to the clear intent of the Taliban. The Qur'an is the
source
of law. Liquor is prohibited. That does not mean that it is perfect or
even
near perfect. It's an experiment and it will need the strong support of
the
Afghans and the Muslim world to succeed. Mullah Omar and other Taliban
leaders live a lifestyle which is not very different from that of the
sahaba,
the Companions of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Obviously the U.S. will try
to
destroy such people.
If MUHAMMAD (pbuh) had been alive today, the U.S. would have sent an
armada
to kill him and the Jews would have led the armada.

WHAT SHOULD THE MUSLIMS DO:
1. OPPOSE U.S. INTERVENTION IN AFGHANISTAN.
2. BREAK THE SANCTIONS.
3. Help Jihadist groups in Pakistan. One very good group is LASHKARE
TAIBA.
Send them donations and tell them to send half to Afghanistan and the
rest
for Kashmir.
4. Educate the American people about Afghanstan. The Afghans are not
the
enemies of Americans. Even those who write filthy articles against the
Taliban are treated like honorable guests when they go there.
5. BUILD HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, ROADS, in Afghanistan and provide clean
water.
6. DON'T TRY TO IMPOSE ANYTHING ON THE AFGHANS. The Russians learned
that
lesson and the U.S. will too.
