Hadith of the Week
Narrated: Abdullah bin Abi Qatada Al-Ansari [r.a.]
My Father said: "Allah's messenger said, "Whenever I stand
for prayer, I want to prolong it but on hearing the cries of
a child, I shorten it as I dislike to put its mother in
trouble."

Breaking News
Kobane: Mujahideen Outflanked Communist Defenders:
YPG Kurds & FSA suddenly in Serious Situation.
November 29: In a surprise attack, this time from the north,
Islamic State [IS} mujahideen broke through the Communist
Kurdish defense line. The attack was led by a martyrdom
operator. YPG, Peshmarga and FSA defending Kobani are now
withdrawing into the center of the city.
Looks like the IS mujahideen circled around the city and
attacked from the north. This corridor leads directly into
Turkey and from here Peshmarga and Shi'ites from Iraq have
been sending reinforcements into Kobani under cover of heavy
bombing of IS positions by the US and Saudi-UAE jet
bombers.
Last month FSA [Syrians trained by the US ] carried out a
similar tactic to enter Kobane from the north. Now the
Communists are crying "foul" and condemning Turkey for
letting the fighters coming in, which Turkey is vehemently
denying it.
African Muslims are part of the Islamic State fighters in
Kobane. Two of them, a Somali and an Eritrean convert to
Islam, both British citizens, were killed in a US air strike
three weeks back.

Why do we know nothing about ISIS? They are cooperating with
Naqshbandi Sufis.

Excerpted from a long article.
Nadezhda Kevorkova is a war correspondent who has covered
the events of the Arab Spring, military and religious
conflicts around the world, and the anti-globalization
movement.
IS established Sharia courts in all the territories they
hold - there are no robberies, thefts, acts of violence or
taking over of property in these territories. Islamic tax is
lower than government tax. The Islamic administration pays
monthly salaries - $400-600, which is about what people get
in Damascus and Baghdad.
Widows are paid $100 plus $100 for each child. The houses of
officials who have run away are given to the poor and to the
militants. ISIS supports small businesses - auto repair
shops, appliance repair shops, computer firms and basic
goods producers. IS provides businessmen with work space,
grants them small subsidies and provides them with security
guards and cargo escorting.
According to my sources, the distribution of food among the
poor is under control. The rich pay a special tax to support
the poor.
There's also what you may call a cultural life: in Mosul,
they held the Koran recital competition and even a football
match.
And though the IS is hostile towards the Muslim Brotherhood
and the Shias, it's the Ikhwan and Hezbollah that are
closely following the fundamental principles of Islam. So
some of IS members are experts in this field.
Finally, IS cooperates with the Naqshbandi Army made up of
powerful Sufi sheikhs and former officers of Saddam
Hussein's army who have been resisting the occupation forces
for a decade. Naqshbandi is a major Sufi order, founded in
the 14th century and prevalent in many regions from Turkey
and the North Caucasus to Central Asia and India. The Sufi
order has its headquarters in Mecca and London and has
strong ties with global elites.
The question concerning the intolerance of IS
ultra-fundamentalists and sectarians remains unresolved. So
is the question whether monopods protect themselves from the
sun by the shade of their only foot.
How the Egyptian people were fooled.
Nov. 29: A court under the dictatorship of General Sissi
dismissed charges against the ousted dictator Hosni Mubarak
and against his security chief.
More than 2,000 Egyptians came out to protest but were
dispersed by security forces. One was killed.
800 people were killed by Hosni Mubarak regime.
Dr. Muhammad Morsi was elected president. The military
convinced Egyptians that Morsi was responsible for all that
was going wrong.
The military removed Morsi and killed 1500 unarmed
protestors, wounded 25,000.
Now General Sissi, supported by Saudi Arabia and the UAE and
indirectly by USA is the new Hosni Mubarak
Anti-Police Brutality Rallies Continuing.
November 29: There were new protest demonstrations in
Ferguson, Missouri, against the police murder of Michael
Brown., Police arrested 16 people.
On November 28 more than 200 protestors successfully stopped
sales at major business outlets where biggest sales of the
year called Black Friday are held.
Answering doubts, rumors and jealousies of the secularists
about Jamaat e Ialami's biggest Mass Gathering
by Shamim Siddiqi
These criticism are time barred and prejudiced as usual.
Ameer Mohtram Sirajul Haq Saheb has a clear vision as how to
transform Pakistan NOW into a real Islamic state through his
God-given wisdom of a Mumin. He has clearly pinpointed our
malaise and then positively urged the people what to do?
Basically he has urged:
-
The Landlordism must be abolished and the land is given
to the poor tenants;
 -
Agricultural Income must be taxed to solve the economic
issues;
 -
He has pinpointed all the burning issues of the country
Province wise to get mass support and spotlighted the issues
of labor, education, inequality in wealth and what not.

He has now to organize the people behind all these issues at
grass root level and that is the job of all the people who
love Pakistan and Islam to come around him and help the
Movement by all means. This is the crux of the problem and
the Muslim Ummah must fill this gap.
I am sure if he could organize Mass Movements for all these
burning issues, and I am sure he will do it the change will
come definitely. He has the guts and mass appealing cool and
calm temperament, he will succeed, Insha Allah.
I am following his trend very closely. All the "pygmies" of
Pakistan politics, their days are numbered.
The change is imminent due to the facts: :
-
America is doomed for good due to her Hippocratic and
anti- Islam policies both at home and abroad ;
 -
Capitalism is on its death bed;
 -
India couldn't solve the problems of her have-not's,
 -
China-Pak relations will bear fruits; and
 -
Islamic Renaissance is at the horizon. Thus, the time is
fast going for a change

As such, these z'one-eyed' secular journalists are the false
prophets and will soon wither away. Mohtram Sirajul Haq
Saheb will, Insha Allah, prevail over his adversaries in all
fields.and at all fronts with only one condition: To fulfill
his political needs he has to build the requisite Team of
Trustworthy Leadership in thousands and thousands not only
in Pakistan but throughout the Muslim world through the
sister organizations That is equally the positive need of
time.
Wal ILmu Indallah
May Allah give him the requisite amount of courage, stamina,
sagacity and the Nusrah that He has committed Himself for
those who fight in His way for the Iqamah of His Deen [Ref:

Health Notes
8 Popular Foods Drenched in Cancer-Causing Chemicals
by S.A. Nickerson
Over the last decade, as genetically modified, or GMO, foods
have increasingly taken over our food supply, we've been
learning more about their dangers to our health.
Now, one courageous doctor is pointing to mounting evidence
that leaves no doubt — GMO foods are even worse than we were
told.
As this respected doctor points out in a riveting new
presentation, no long-term human studies have ever supported
GMO safety. Shockingly, the World Health Organization only
requires a mere 90 days of testing to claim that GMOs are
safe. Well, no one dies from smoking cigarettes within 90
days of starting to smoke, either!
Yet while lifetime studies still have not been done on
humans, scientists have done these studies on animals — and
what they found is stunning. Lab mice fed just a 33 percent
GMO diet begin developing aggressive cancers (particularly
breast cancer), liver failure, and kidney failure.
Shockingly, 50 percent of the males and 70 percent of the
female animals on the GMO diet succumbed to early death at
an age equivalent to 40 to 50 human years.
While more people have begun to fight back against GMOs, the
big GMO companies spend millions of dollars to defeat laws
that would require GMO labeling. Quite simply, these big
companies know that GMO crops are cheaper to grow, and
therefore more profitable.
In the meantime, many health experts now warn us to take the
only positive action available to protect our health —
avoiding GMOs as much as humanly possible. But considering
the fact that GMOs are hidden in over 30,000 food products,
that is not an easy task.
Fortunately, one courageous doctor has stepped up to the
plate. Dr. Russell Blaylock, one of America's leading
medical researchers and nutritionists, has created a special
free video presentation that explains the hidden health
hazards of GMOs. Dr. Blaylock will show you how to protect
your family from GMOs and their dangers — aisle by aisle at
the grocery store.
Dr. Blaylock's new video presentation exposes how GMO
ingredients and other harmful additives are hidden on labels
under safe-sounding names. In fact, you'll see some of the
actual labels and find out what to watch for.
And those stickers pasted onto fruits and vegetables? Using
real examples, you'll learn a simple way to tell the
difference between GMO produce that may also be packed with
harmful pesticides and herbicides, and produce that is safe
and natural.
GMOs enter your body through thousands of packaged and
canned food products, through fresh produce, and through the
meat, chicken, and fish you eat. The expert help Dr.
Blaylock offers in this video reveals everything you need to
know to avoid GMOs at the grocery store as well as
restaurants.
Since the introduction of GMO foods, many cancers and other
diseases have skyrocketed in humans. Can this really be a
coincidence? Please use the information available in this
online educational presentation, Cracking the GMO Code, to
help protect your own health — and the health of your
family.
Renowned former neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D., left
conventional medicine after decades of practice to

Juma Khutba - Summary
US Muslims should Remain non-Violent but Uncompromising with
the Oppressors.
That is Sunnah.
Understanding Hijra and immigrants.
Understanding Why do Muslim Fight Each other in Nigeria,
Afghanistan, Iraq etc?
On November 28 Br. Kaukab Siddique gave the juma khutba at
Masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen in Baltimore. It is a very
friendly little mosque. A brother was raking the leaves on
the sidewalk. Then a beautiful adhan was given next to the
street. Even the tall security brothers are very
friendly.
Here is a summary of the main points made by Br. Kaukab.
Hopefully other imams will pick it up because New Trend has
a wide reach.
-
Iman, risalat, akhira, amr bil maroof nahi un il munkar,
compassion, sharing, caring da'wah, tanzeem. These are the
essentials of Islam in America as they were in Makka when
the Prophet, pbuh, began his mission.
 -
When the mission of da'wah is completed or can no longer
be continued, then comes hijra.
 -
Hijra is from the land of unbelief to the land of Islam.
Immigrants are not in America owing to hijra, They came from
the lands of Islam to the land of unbelief, for their dunya,
not for their deen.
 -
Their situation is bordering absurdity. They behave as if
they are in Madinah and start building these multi-million
dollar mosques.
 -
Decades pass and even the neighbors of these rich mosques
do not embrace Islam. They barely tolerate the mosques owing
to the country's laws. Instead all these fancy mosques are
being influenced by the unbelievers and by the powerful
American culture.
 -
Powerful American media are influencing our children into
thinking that globally Muslims are not good Muslims because
they fight America and US Muslims are the good Muslims
because we support America.
 -
The biggest problem arises when media shows us that
Muslims are FIGHTING EACH OTHER. They all pray and fast and
their mosques overseas are packed but they fight each other
and even kill each other and go to the extent of attacking
each others' mosques.
 -
What kind of Islam is this, our children want to know.
Perhaps USA is right that all those Muslims fighting other
Muslims are terrorists.
 -
This is where our study of Qur'an and hadith can help our
children.
 -
Prayers and fasting and zakat and mosques are important
in Islam. However, these are tools, means and ways of
achieving Islam's real goal which is the Law of Allah
established in this world through Khilafa and a place in
al-Jannah even if we fail trying.
 -
When occupying military forces enter our lands, some
Muslims fight them. Other Muslims join the occupiers. Hence
the confusion because both sides pray and go to mosques.
 -
Even more difficult: The imperialist powers support
dictators, tyrants, hypocrites, agents and fund and arm them
to rule Muslim populations. The job of these agents is to
suppress and westernize the Muslims. These rulers too pray
and go to mosques.
 -
We must learn that Islam means that we stand up for the
truth in the Qur'an and Hadith and oppose the kuffar and
those who support the kuffar.
Anyone who supports the kuffar against Islamic fighters is a
kafir or munafiq even though he/she may pray and fast and go
to mosque.
 -
In America, we must remain non-violent but we must
oppose all evil just as the Prophet, pbuh, did in Makkah.
Remaining peaceful does not mean supporting, condoning or
remaining silent about oppression, be it here or
overseas.

Spotlights and Guidance
Antisemitism is a lie: UN is a tool for Injustice.
-
Zionists continue to believe that its okay to kill and
enslave to achieve the objectives of their sacred books.
 -
Teach your children every morning when they get up that
they can move mountains with Allah's help.
 -
Liberation of Palestine is not impossible. It is quite
possible.
 -
Antisemitism is a big lie created by the Zionists to
block criticism of their evil behavior
 -
Zionists and their allies use the United Nations as a
tool to legalize injustice and occupation, and to maintain
their power.
 -
The European settlers were able to get away with their
usurpation of the lands and rights of Native Americans,
Zionist occupiers are following their example.
 -
Zionists believe that for them to exist, they can destroy
everything else.
 -
While walking through a dark forest, take care of others
walking with you and be aware.
 -
Let's ask ourselves how Muslims would react if Makka and
Madinah were under occupation. How can we be so inactive
when al-Aqsa is being desecrated.
 -
Fear of occupation and oppression is far worse than
confronting the occupation itself.

Pakistan - US Drone Attacks Coordinated with Pakistani
Military Attack in Tirah Valley [Khyber]
-
Nov 27:
 -
In the Tirah valley, Pakistan air force jet fighters
attacked several villages suspected of supporting factions
of the Pak Taliban. According to Dawn, 11 suspected
"militants" were killed. Strict curfew is being imposed on
villages where the Paki army is reaching. In the Akakhel
area, a villager was killed by the army when he allegedly
"violated curfew." In other villages, the army has set fire
to homes [sources Dawn daily].

A US drone missile attack in Afghanistan's Nangarhar
province, on a little village, narrowly missed mujahideen
leader Maulvi Fazlullah, killing 5 of his Pakistani
fighters. According to Dawn, Fazlullah has been sending
reinforcements to help the Pakistani mujahideen fighting the
Pakistani army in the Tirah valley [Khyber area]

Fazlullah is the current leader of Pakistani Taliban and is
the legendary hero of the battle with the Pakostani army in
Swat. He fought the elite Pakistani forces to a standstill
and then, after being severely wounded, withdrew across the
border into an area secured by fighters allied to the Afghan
Taliban.
He is famous for his short range radio through which he
reached the women of Swat and urged them to support the men
fighting the Paki military. The army tried to eliminate the
radio on various occasions but failed.
Also on November 25, a US drone hit a village in Kand Sari
on the edge of North and South Waziristan killing 6 people
and wounding three suspected of supporting the Pak Taliban
on the way to help the mujahideen in the Tirah valley.

Lincoln University president, Robert Jennings, resigns
post
Posted: Monday, November 24, 2014 10:00 am
Wilford Shamlin III Tribune Staff Writer phillytrib.com
The Lincoln University President Robert Jennings announced
his resignation Monday, days after the university's board of
trustees ordered an internal review of remarks he made at an
all-women's convocation in September.
Valerie Harrison has been named acting president for the
historically Black university, said Kimberly Lloyd, chair of
the university's board of trustees. It is located 45 minutes
southwest of Philadelphia, in rural southern Chester
County.
Harrison's experience in higher education spans more than 15
years, including vice president for legal affairs and
general counsel at Arcadia University, recognized for its
leadership in international education. She has a master's
degree in liberal arts from Temple University and is
completing course work for a Ph.D. there, as well. She has
also advised Temple University on legal matters since
earning her law degree from the Villanova University School
of Law.
A search for a permanent successor is now under way,
officials said.
During Jennings' tenure, The Lincoln University launched its
first fund-raising campaign for undergraduate scholarship
funding amid shrinking enrollment at historically Black
colleges and universities (HBCU), as some grant programs and
other forms of financial aid continues to decline. He served
as an evaluator for the U.S. Department of Education and
chair of the NAACP Education Legal Advisory Board.
Earlier this month, the board of trustees ordered a review
of remarks Jennings made two months ago after meeting in
executive session.
He received backlash last spring when he broke an
established tradition by scheduling commencement exercises
on the weekday. When interviewed about the new policy,
Jennings told the Tribune the decision brought thousands of
dollars in savings by avoiding weekend overtime rates. The
university avoids the increased cost of paying the shift
differential to union employees who work weekend hours, and
hiring cleanup crews to set up and remove chairs, he
said.
Robert Archie Jr., a member of the board of trustees, has
expressed support for Jennings in the face of grumblings,
describing them as a small number of alumni who wanted to
see the commencement tradition continued.
"It's a very small core of alumni," Archie told the Tribune
in a recent phone interview. "Those are people who don't get
the message that this is a business, and it has to be run as
a business."
As the country's first degree-granting HBCU, The Lincoln has
educated graduates who have achieved prominence, from the
first Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and poet
Langston Hughes to the first presidents of Ghana and
Nigeria, and Lillian Fishburne, the first Black woman
promoted to rear admiral in the U.S. Navy.
In announcing the resignation, Lloyd asked for support from
the university community as The Lincoln's leadership
continues its work on the shared mission of educating future
leaders.
"The future is bright," Lloyd said in the closing paragraph
of her letter.
President Jennings all-expense paid Visit to Israel : Letter
from an alum which he Ignored.
The Lincoln University
1570 Baltimore Pike
P.O. Box 179
Lincoln, PA 19352-0999
Dear President Robert R. Jennings,
I read about your all-expense paid trip to Israel in the
latest Lincoln Review. The article was titled "Dr. Jennings
Represents The Lincoln University in Holy Land" and it is
further revealed that the American Jewish Committee paid for
this trip.
I was very disappointed to read about your journey to
Israel, which is occupying Palestinian land. Palestine is
the real Holy Land, not it's occupier - Israel. The American
Jewish Committee is a staunch Zionist organization that
espouses the ridiculous belief that Jews are superior to all
non-Jews. It is this Jewish Supremacist view that gives them
the right to steal Palestine from the Palestinians just as
White Supremacy was used to support the murder of Native
Americans by European settlers, as well as the enslavement
of Stolen Africans!
Your trip to Occupied - Palestine is oddly timed. It was
only a few years ago, when these same staunch Zionists went
on the attack against your Professor of English (Interim
Chairperson), Dr. Kaukab Siddique. His courage to condemn
Zionist ideology and Israel's existence is still unmatched!
Members of Zionist organizations, including the American
Jewish Committee, called for his termination simply because
he challenged Zionist oppression and nothing else!
Now, coincidentally, you have been selected by the American
Jewish Committee to participate in Project Interchange in
Israel. The only purpose of such an all-expense paid trip
would be to buy your support for their Zionist cause. It is
inconceivable that a highly educated man, such as yourself,
would set foot in an area of the world that has been so
oppressive to the indigenous residents. It is unconscionable
that anyone would participate in any project under the
Israeli banner!
These Zionists have very little respect for non-Jews, even
Black Jews, who have encountered their own form of
oppression in Israel. You will never be viewed as an equal
in Zionist eyes. Your Black skin won't allow them to do so.
They will only use you to promote their Jewish Supremacist
agenda. You will be their puppet and nothing more to
them.
Many devils out there dangle carrots in an effort to entrap
us. An example of a dangling carrot is free money. Please be
more selective when accepting free gifts from others. I
recommend never doing business with those who do not respect
you!
Do you realize that, in spite of the pivotal role that
HBCU's have played in Black America, there are those of us
who believe in its obsolescence?! I encourage you to join
endeavors that seek to empower and form an alliance with
oppressed people all over the world, especially those of
African-descent.
Sincerely,
Aisha Shaheed,

The Alternative to Thanksgiving: Plymouth Day of Mourning
by Sis. Karin Friedemann [Boston]
The 45th National Day of Mourning, organized by the United
American Indians of New England (UAINE), took place on
November 27, 2014. This historical commemoration happens
every Thanksgiving Day in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The Day of Mourning has become a local custom and tourism
alternative to the annual "Pilgrim Progress" Procession, a
traditional costumed reenactment representing the Pilgrim
survivors of the first, harsh winter of 1620/1621. According
to the US national mythology, when the pilgrims arrived, the
Native people fed them and welcomed them.
Native Americans and several hundred supporters gathered
Thursday near Plymouth Rock to hear what actually happened.
The first official "Day of Thanksgiving" was actually
proclaimed in 1637 by Governor Winthrop, to celebrate the
Mystic, Connecticut massacre of over 700 Pequot women,
children, and men.
National Day of Mourning began in 1970 when a Wampanoag man,
Wamsutta Frank James, was asked to speak at a state dinner
celebrating the 350th anniversary of the pilgrim landing.
However, he was disinvited after he showed the event
organizers a draft of his speech, which was not written in
praise of the "white man." Native people from throughout the
Americas responded by organizing their own yearly event in
Plymouth.
This year's event drew hundreds of people of many different
backgrounds, who braved the cold to meet at the hill above
the Plymouth Rock monument, also said to be the Pilgrim's
first burial ground. The grassy hill is graced by a very
beautiful statue of the tribal prince or "Sachem,"
Massasoit, who is given credit for feeding the pilgrims in
that fabled feast in Plymouth. The icon was sculpted in 1921
by Cyrus Edwin Dallin, a Mormon from Utah, who became a
Unitarian and settled in Boston.
The commemoration began with burning of sage and a prayer,
followed by speeches given by representatives from different
indigenous tribes from across the Americas.
"The pilgrims did not find an empty land any more than
Columbus "discovered" anything. Every inch of this land is
Indian land. The pilgrims (who did not even call themselves
pilgrims) did not come here seeking religious freedom; they
already had that in Holland. They came here as part of a
commercial venture," began Moonanum James, the son of
Wamsutta James, introducing the National Day of
Mourning.
"About the only true thing in the whole mythology is that
these pitiful European strangers would not have survived
their first several years in "New England" were it not for
the aid of Wampanoag people. What Native people got in
return for this help was genocide, theft of our lands, and
never-ending repression."
The speakers taught about colonialism, CIA invasions,
disappeared persons, environmental devastation, and our
responsibility towards future generations.
UAINE co-leader, Mahtowin Munro mentioned the clean water
concerns connected to the XL-pipeline and dozens of other
pipelines in the U.S. and Canada. She also raised the
struggles of people protesting the non-indictment of Darren
Wilson who brutally shot unarmed African American teen,
Michael Brown, in Ferguson, Missouri.
"We have no RIGHT to give up, to lose hope or to stop
struggling. We have an obligation to resist," Munro reminded
the peaceful gathering. "From Ferguson to Plymouth, protest
is our right."
"Many of you have heard of the XL Keystone pipeline. We have
had a victory, and have been able to halt the XL Keystone
pipeline, for now. For now. But there will be more votes
coming up on that no doubt. At least a dozen more pipelines
are in the works."
Bert Waters read out loud a letter from Leonard Peltier, an
American Indian Movement organizer who has served 37 years
of a life sentence in prison. He is now 70 years old and
losing his vision.
"You have no idea how cool it is, just to get a new pair of
socks. In the past few months, I have really been feeling my
age, and I am so very thankful for all the support you have
given to me. I won't lie, it has been a rough time, lately,
but I am hopeful that is changing. My people have always had
a deep connected relationship with the sun, and I realized
the other day just how much I miss the sun. When I had the
sun's light upon me, I felt stronger. These walls hold out
the sun's energy, and it weakens me."
Peltier stressed that personal visits and letters are how he
"felt a bit of the sunshine again." He said that his point
is that "we may find the things we need in places that we
might not expect."
"I can always pray. This can never be taken away from me.
And through that prayer, I can keep the sun, and that hope
for life. On this day, Thanksgiving, I shall choose to be
thankful, and not to celebrate tyranny. And I shall also
pray for you, and with you. I pray for each and every one of
you, whether you support me or not. I pray that your lives
will be full of meaning, and that you will find new ways to
learn. I pray for your strength, and that you will always
stand up for the things that you know are right. I pray that
each one of you find a way to protect our Mother Earth."
Mr. Gonzalez talked about Guatemala, the United Fruit
Company and U.S. policies toward the people of that country.
A sister from Puerto Rico spoke of Taino struggles.
"I liked that it was not only a protest against white
settlers by Native Americans, but it also included
Palestine, Ferguson, and other people," Faith, 13, told New
Trend.
Sekou Odinga Freed: Was Inspired by Malcolm X.
"My name is Sekou Mgobogi Abdullah Odinga. I am a Muslim and
a POW." [Interview with Drum]
From Nadrat Siddique [Baltimore]
Br. Sekou Odinga is finally free, after decades long effort
by a few caring folk. But.. many other Black political
prisoners from the Cointelpro era continue to languish
behind bars for upwards for 30 years. Many are former Black
Panther, Black Liberation Army, or Repulic of New Afrika
members, and most were tortured upon capture (for instance,
Sekou was tortured for six hours after his capture, and then
forced into a courtroom for a 2.5 year court battle BEFORE
he could completely heal from the torture). We need to get
them all out, and not just when they're on their death
beds..
About Sekou Odinga, U.S.held political prisoner of war:
"My name is Sekou Odinga. Some of us have never agreed to be
American and have struggled to free and build the Republic
of New Afrika. Under international law, oppressed people
have that right... the right to be free of the oppression
and to build...

Baltimore -Jamaat al-Muslimeen Statement on Ferguson &
anti-Police-brutality Rallies
What Muslims should say to friendly media about
Ferguson:
-
Muslims stand with the oppressed people of America.
 -
We condole with the Brown family.
 -
There is no justice in America for those who are poor and
exploited.
 -
Police brutality is a fact across America from coast to
coast.
 -
Armed man in uniform shooting down an unarmed man and
then accusing him of petty crime and being big and strong is
also typical of US and Israeli military behavior in Muslim
countries.
 -
Zionism and racism are closely related.
 -
Congressional Black Caucus is silent about Zionism and
hence cannot oppose Zionist controlled media from subtly
supporting police brutality.
 -
Americans should realize that most African Americans are
peaceful protesters. This could change.
 -
African Americans should unite against oppression and
stop fighting each other. Unite against the oppressors .
 -
Stop praising Dr. King. Oppressors fear Malcolm X,
Farrakhan, Nat Turner, John Brown. They have coopted Dr.
King. Listen to what Farrakhan said at Morgan State u.
 -
Link up with the people of Africa and the Muslim world.
Then you won't feel like a minority.

Notes on Sex and Marriage
by Kaukab Siddique, PhD
Prophet Muhammad pbuh, said: "People marry for the sake of
beauty, wealth, race and spiritual commitment. You should
marry for spiritual commitment otherwise may your hands be
rubbed in dirt" [Hadith]
Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, said: "Sexual modesty is part of
faith." [Hadith]
We must begin by accepting the fact that we are given the
ability to love by a higher power, Allah [or God for
Christians]. Without unimpaired physical, mental, spiritual
and emotional health, we would not be able to love. A great
Muslim theologian, Muhammad al-Ghazzali, gives a metaphor to
explain the way love works. On a hot day, when we take
refuge in the shade, we are pleased not only with the shade
but are thankful for the trees which provide the
shade.[1]
Thus Allah is the source of love. If our love is limited to
beings other than Allah, we are very liable to be
disappointed. Why? Simply because all that humans have is
limited and is steadily passing and withering away. Then one
day we are faced with the prospect of leaving this world and
going to another level of existence about which we know
nothing if we do not love Allah.
Allah, however, is not an idol or a limited being who can be
loved the way humans love other humans. He is beyond our
limited understanding; so he helps us to understand love and
how and whom to love. To love Allah, we must love his
creation, in particular human beings. If we do not love
humans, our claims of loving Allah are not acceptable to
Allah Almighty. We must love not only all humans but all of
Allah's creatures, from the birds in the sky to the ants in
the earth.
Among the best of God's creatures are those whom He selected
to Guide humans, the most prominent of whom are Abraham,
Hajira, Moses, Asya, Jesus, Mary, Muhammad and 'Ayesha [may
Allah bless them all]. The final and perfected message of
all of these Guides was brought by Muhammad, peace be on
him. If we want to love Allah, we must love Muhammad, peace
be on him, and through him all the others who preceded him.
[2]
If our love of Allah is established and clear, then we'll
easily see whom to select as spouse for our special personal
and sexual love.
We live in a time and age when Islam is gradually but
steadily resurgent. Among the new generations of Muslims
there are increasingly larger numbers of young people who
see their personal happiness as linked to love of Allah and
acceptance of the Way [Sunnah] of Muhammad, pbuh. However,
there is powerful resistance to this resurgence from the
established feudal, military and westernized sections of
Muslim societies. For them, their aristocracies are more
important than Islam. They often marry their children to
cousins to keep their wealth within their families and to
keep their racial-family lines [genes] "pure." They, in
particular, want to evade the property rights which Islam
gives to women.
Islam does encourage great respect for mothers and fathers
and supports the family system, but it does not permit
parents to shape the lives of married couples.
In the choice of spouses, parents play a very important role
but it is an advisory role. The final choice has to be made
by the two who want to get married. Islam teaches that the
virgin who knows little of the world should have a wali to
advise her so that she may not be entrapped by a clever man.
However, in the final choice, the bride must choose freely
and without any pressure of any kind.
In all issues related to spousal life, the married couple is
commanded by Islam to seek guidance from the Qur'an and the
Sunnah, not from parents or relatives. In fact in
husband-wife relationships, there is no role for parents and
siblings other than that of compassion and caring.
Interference is allowed only when there is clear oppression
and violation of Islamic Law. Even in divorce, the Qur'an
says:
"... Wives have rights similar to those of husbands
according to what is equitable...." [The Qur'an 2:228], the
only difference being that women have to wait for a fixed
time before remarriage while men don't have to, and thus men
have a "degree" of advantage for biological reasons.
Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, commanded: "Surely you have a right
over women, just as women have a right over you." [Hadith,
Sunan of Tirmidhi.]
Husbands should not be taking personal, sexual, matters to
ANYONE outside the bedroom:
"On the Day of Judgment, terrible will be the situation of a
man who goes [sexually] to his wife, or of a woman who goes
to her husband, and then spread the secrets of their
personal life, outside." [Hadith of Muhammad, pbuh, Sahih
Muslim]
Without acceptance of the Will of Allah by both men and
women, marriage cannot be successful and should not be
carried out.
In conclusion, the four types of love human beings feel are
summarized by Imam Ghazzali thus:
-
Natural love which we have for children, parents and
siblings/relatives.
 -
Sensual or physical desire which is animalistic and is
the result of sexual drives and is aroused by the physical
shape and form of the object of love.
 -
Love based on reason and understanding, such as the
love one has for poetry or other aesthetically pleasing
objects and for morally exalted behavior. This is the
highest limit of human love outside Islam.
 -
Islamic love which is rooted in the love of Allah and
his Messenger, pbuh, and prepares one for the Hereafter.
Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, taught repeatedly that in Paradise
you will be with the ones you love. [These are the Pure
Companions of Paradise repeatedly referred to in the
Qur'an.] [3]

-
Imam Muhammad al-Ghazzali, died 1111 c.e. in Baghdad, the
greatest theologian of Islam, wrote the best discussion of
LOVE in all of Islamic literature. See his Ihya
Ulum-id-Deen, volume 4 available in Urdu and English
translation.
Allama Iqbal, the Poet-Philosopher of the East, died c.e.
1938, has some of the most powerful expression of the
meaning of the highest form of love, ISHQ, in his verses
about Self and Selflessness.
 -
"And among people are those who take others than Allah as
equals to Him. They love them as they should love Allah. But
those who believe are stronger in love for Allah..." [The
Qur'an 2:165]
 -
The Prophet, pbuh, asked his daughter Fatima, r.a., "Do
you love me?" She replied: "Yes." "Then," he said, pointing
to 'Ayesha, r.a., "love the one I love." [Hadith, Sunan of
Nasai.]
