Syria's Alawite dictator Bashar Assad is committing the most horrific atrocities. In the latest, August 7, his tanks crossed into the northeastern town of Deir al-Zour and slaughtered 42 people. The killing was so cold blooded that some of the troops revolted and started defending the people.
Why is the Muslim world silent. New Trend urges Turkey to intervene or at least arm the people. Such courage as the unarmed Syrian masses are showing should write a glorious new chapter in the history of Islam.

1. Israel, though bloated with US funding, is in an economic crisis! Crowds of Israeli Jews came out in the streets of occupied Palestine on August 6 to complain of high prices and widening rich-poor gap. [Will Allah punish them for what they did to Gaza.] [No coverage in US major media but for the Internet and BBC!] [Israeli air strikes on Gaza reported August 7.]

2. The Norway killer, Breivik, was a staunch supporter of Israel, and was ideologically linked to extreme right wing scum in the US such as Spencer [who abuses the Prophet, pbuh] and Pat Robertson whose media man CBN's Stakelbeck launched a hate campaign against Dr. Siddique. 3. USA's elite Navy Seals were hailed by the media as invincible because they killed the leader of global Islamic fighters Shaykh Osama who was unarmed. Now [August 6] the Taliban, in Wardak province of Afghanistan, have shot down a US Chinook helicopter with a grenade [from an rpg], killing 30 US special forces and 7 Karzai commandos and their translator. Twenty two were Navy Seals. [No reports yet in the media that the Taliban are invincible!]

4. The British "empire" is finally sinking. On August 6, in the Tottenham area of North London, hundreds of young people rallied against a police murder, set fire to police cars and a bus, burned buildings and rained stones on police reinforcements. Looting also occurred. The rioters were of African descent. [US media show British royalty and Britain as a show piece of a stable society! No report on Tottenham yet in the major media!]

On August 4, 2011, there was a 90 minute long protest in front of the Social Security Administration offices in western Baltimore city [Maryland]. As in other faiths, fasting is used to increase spirituality, discipline, and consciousness of God's mercy. It is also a reminder of the importance of reaching out to those less fortunate. The heartbreaking accounts of lost lives and the images of families and children in Somalia and the Horn of Africa struggling to survive remind us of our common humanity and compel us to act. Now is the time for nations and peoples to come together to avert an even worse catastrophe by offering support and assistance to on-going relief efforts.

My God! Someone's heart is breaking. You know, it's the news from Somalia. For a moment, I thought he was going to say "My heart is breaking." At least we were spared that confession.
I am sure he is going to remove the ban on hawala transfers of money to Somalia so that Somalis can help their families. ["ya gotta be kiddin'.]
I am sure he is going to stop supporting the little clique holding on to a corner of Mogadishu and firing artillery into civilian populations. ["ya gotta be kiddin'.]

After all there are 700,000 Indian troops in Kashmir, the biggest occupation army in the world. Of course he did not forget them. Crocodile Tears As Food Aid Blockade Continues in Horn of Africa

As predicted crocodile tears have begun to run down the faces of the likes of Anthony Lake, CIA director nominee turned Executive Director of UNICEF, as some 15 million people starve in the Horn of Africa. Tony Lake appeals to the world for tens, no, hundreds of millions of dollars to save the starving people of Ethiopia and Somalia, never once telling you that the majority, some 10 million, are in the Ogaden and Oromia regions and being subjected to a western funded food aid blockade by the Ethiopian military. Dont take my word for the size of the famine, a quick look at the UN's drought map for the Horn of Africa shows that almost the entire southern Ethiopia region is affected which includes some 20 million people.

Another five million people, maybe more, are starving in Somalia. The heads of the western food agencies are loath to admit that a million or more of those starving are refugees created by the UN funded Ethiopian and AU armies invading and occupying Somali since 2006. The very same refugees who had their minimum survival rations cut by 70% by the likes of Tony Lake due to "funding shortfalls" before all the crocodile tears began to flow.

SInce 2008 and the defeat and withdrawal of the Ethiopian army which invaded Somalia in 2006, the UN and its military wing in the African Union have intervened directly in the "war on terror" in Somalia in the form of some 10,000 troops, mostly from Uganda.

In the past 3 years the UN/AU army has laid waste to over half of Somalia's former capital of Mogadishu. Some 30 square miles of Mogadishu have been pretty much obliterated by heavy artillery, mortars, tanks and helicopter gun ships operated by the Ugandan army. In the last 3 years some 500,000 or more Somali residents of Mogadishu have had to flee for their lives due to the relentless UN/AU offensive, joining the half a million refugees created by the Ethiopian invasion.

The drought ravaging the Horn of Africa is already four years old and has developed into the worst drought to hit the region in 60 years. With the onset of drought in 2007 came the onset of a major counterinsurgency in the Ogaden region by the Ethiopian military, marked paid in full by the western aid and financial institutions. And with the counterinsurgency came the need to cover up this crime and so the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders were expelled. Out of sight, out of mind is the slogan today for most of the international media with no camera crews, no journalists, no news at all if they can help it about the 10 million facing forced starvation in south east and south west Ethiopia, the Ogaden and Oromia.

The last journalists who tried to get into the Ogaden, two Swedes, were sold out by the Somali Puntland warlords, ambushed by the Ethiopian para-militaries, their escorts slaughtered, with both journalists wounded and thrown into an Ethiopian dungeon, a message to all and wide to mind your own business when it comes to genocide in the Horn of Africa.

So the crocodile tears will flow and hundreds of millions of dollars supposedly meant to feed millions of starving people in the Horn of Africa will once again end up paying for the Ethiopian military's latest arms purchase or in the western bank accounts of Ethiopian P.M. Meles Zenawi and his cohorts. And for a while the international media will churn out stories filled with heartbreaking images of starving children in the Horn of Africa and never once tell you how some 10 million of these people are suffering from a western funded food aid blockade.

Iran attends NATO meeting for the first time

TEHRAN - For the first time the Islamic Republic of Iran participated in a meeting of the Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which opened in La Maddalena, Italy yesterday and closes today.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ali Ahani represents Iran at the meeting and is scheduled to deliver a speech at the gathering.

He will also hold talks with a number of participants in the meeting.

Representatives from 25 countries are attending the event, IRNA reported.

According to IRNA, the participants will discuss the situation in the Mediterranean, the Middle East, the Persian Gulf region, transition of power in certain Arab countries, the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region, the situation in Iraq, and NATO's operations in the Mediterranean.

The NATO PA Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group (GSM) provides a forum for parliamentarians from NATO countries and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to discuss political and security issues and to enhance cooperation.

As one of the first institutions to engage with the region, the NATO PA started a dialogue with MENA countries in the early 1990s. As a formal mechanism to address regional challenges, the GSM was launched in 1996


Kingship is Haram in Islam: Biblical Systems are not Applicable

Question and Answer

Question by Nadeem Khan [Virginia]: I have a copy of the Qur'an with commentary titled Ahsan al-Bayan by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf and Urdu translation by Maulana Muhammad Junagarhi. Some people say that Kingship is forbidden [haram[ in Islam. However. sura 2 verse 246 says:

"Have you not turned your vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after [the time] of Moses? They said to a prophet that was among them: ' Appoint for us a King that we may fight in the cause of Allah.'

In his commentary on this verse, Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf writes: "Calling for the appointment of a king in the presence of a prophet is a proof of the legitimacy of kingship. If kingship were not permitted at all, Allah would have rejected this demand. Instead not only did Allah not reject this demand, He appointed Talut as king over them. This should help us understand that if the king is not an absolute tyrant but instead follows the commandments of God, his kingship is not only permissible but is desirable and needed"

Then in his commentary on 5:20, Hafiz Yusuf writes: "First note this verse: " 'Remember Moses said to his people: O my people! Remember the favor of Allah to you: He produced prophets among you, made you kings, and gave you what He had not given to any other among the peoples."

Then he comments: Most of the prophets were from the Bani Israel whose cycle ended with Jesus, peace be on him. The final messenger was from the people of Ismail, peace be on him. Numerous Kings rose from among the Bani Israel and some prophets themselves were blessed by Allah in being awarded kingship, among them Solomon, peace be on him. Hence it is wrong to assume that kingship which is a blessing from Allah is entirely forbidden [haram]. If kingship had been bad, Allah Almighty would not have appointed any prophet as king. and mentioned it as a gift from him. In any case kingship or personal government, if the ruler is just and god fearing is a thousand times better than democracy.

Answer by Dr. Kaukab Siddique: Islam cannot be fully understood unless one accepts Allah's teachings that it is the final and perfected Word of Allah. It supersedes ALL previous teachings, revelations and laws. The Shar'iah brought by Muhammad, pbuh, makes all previous shariahs irrelevant and inapplicable.

"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favor on you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion..." [5:3]

We should be kind and good to Jews and Christians but Islam does not permit us to become part of their system and that includes the biblical system of Kingship:

"O you who believe, take not the Jews and Christians as your protecting friends and guardians: they are but protectors and guardians of each other.. And one among you who turns to them is of them. Surely Allah guides not a people unjust." [5:51]

So the idea that we can have kings because they had kings is not valid in Islam. The Qur'an shows us the rise and fall of nations and how Allah blessed the Bani Israel and how most of them disobeyed Allah. These stories of the past are NOT teaching us Shari'ah for our times. They are teaching us how Allah can both choose and punish. We must not become like the Jews otherwise we too will be [and have been] punished.

The final message sent by Allah through Muhammad, pbuh, is the most progressive system the world has ever seen. It is that of social and political organization through SHOORA or mutual consultation in which all the Muslims are equal. There is no place in it for kings:

In all matters Muslims are those "who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation... [42:38]

The Islamic system of governance is known as CALIPHATE and is the exact opposite of Kingship. The Muslims showed in real life what an ideal Islamic society is like by setting up the Caliphate. The authentic and legitimate Islamic Caliphs were:

Abu Bakr
Umar
Usman
Ali
[Allah be pleased with all 4 of them]

With them were women of the highest caliber such as Ayesha, Asma, Hafsa, Ruqayya, Nailah, Fatima, Zainab and many others. [May Allah bless them all].

Their lifestyle was based on equality, freedom of expression, frugality, love of Allah, love and practice of Sunnah-e-Muhammad, pbuh, and jihad.

Those who came after them were kings but called themselves Caliphs.

Allah alone is King, the only Ruler: [59:23 and. 114:2] Allah has made kingship HARAM forever.

Heavy fighting as Ramadan Begins: NATO's best troops stuck in Guerrilla Warfare. No reporting in US Media

On August 4, the third day of Ramadan, a top intelligence directorate official of the Karzai clique was killed in a Taliban attack in the northern city of Kiunduz. Earlier, on the first day of Ramadan, August 2, a Taliban human bomber killed a number of German-hired private guards at a "development" project in Kunduz.

In the first three days of Ramadan, six NATO troops were killed and more injured. US media did not report ANY fighting. "Icasualties" has collected the info from Pentagon death notices.

The source, very careful in reporting, notes that the NATO death toll for July totalled 53. Only 22 Taliban were killed. There were 1600 IED attacks in July. resulting in many injuries to NATO but a few deaths owing to armor. [IEDs are homemade bombs crudely manufactured by the Islamic resistance, reports say.]

On July 31, three of US marine special forces troops were killed in Herat district in exchanges of small arms fire with the Taliban mujahideen.

The Taliban are going after key Karzai officials planted by the US and known for torture and corruption. Karzai's brother, the most powerful and corrupt official in Kandahar area was killed by the Taliban, followed by the "Mayor" of Kandahar.

Karachi being destroyed by Foreign Powers to Undermine Pakistan
LAHORE, Aug. 4: The Jamaat e Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that foreign powers were conspiring to break up this country by worsening the situation in Karachi. In a statement here on Thursday, he said that different terrorist groups were serving their foreign masters by putting the port city on fire and destroying its Industry and economy.

While opposing military action in the mega city, Syed Munawar Hasan said that the Karachi situation could be brought under control by empowering the police and weeding out political elements from the force. Karachi could not be left at the mercy of the murderers and extortionists, he said.

The JI would soon convene a national conference on the Karachi issue, he said, and added that if all the political parties were serious and made joint efforts for improvement, the Karachi situation could be normalized.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the target killings in Karachi had increased and during the last two months about five hundred people had been gunned down. The entire city had been handed over to the mafias. The government and law enforcing agencies were silent spectators simply because selfish interests were dearer to them than the national interest. The gangs of killers were roaming about in the city freely. They emerged at different spots all of a sudden and began indiscriminate firing.

He said the patrons of these killer- groups were part of the government because of which the killers were not apprehended. When ever some gang was hauled up, its head got them released. He said as long as the government continued to be blackmailed by these people, peace would elude the port city.
The JI chief said that the Karachi situation had worsened to the extent that some circles were openly demanding calling out the army in the city. However, he said, this was not a permanent solution.

Instead, he said stressed that the the hands behind the target killing be exposed and the culprits be proceeded against under the law without any discrimination. Impartial enquiry should be held into the killings on 12th of May, 12th of Rabiul Awwal, 9th of April and 18th of October, the Ashura tragedy and other major killings, those responsible be brought to book and the city be cleansed of arms and ammunition.
