Rabi' al-Awwal 24,1432/February 27, 2011 # 9
Veteran Islamic teacher and scholar, Br. Shamim Siddiqui
[Long Island, New York] urges Jamaat al-Muslimeen activists
to prepare themselves spiritually to carry the message of
Islam in America. One of Br. Shamim's valuable books is
Al-Fateha & Its Significance. How many Muslims know the
great wisdom in the al-Fateha which is recited in each rakat
of prayer? This book is essential. If you are serious as an
Islamic activist for peace in America, we'll send it to you
for free, fi sabil Allah.
Press Release by Kaukab Siddique, ameer, Jamaat
al-Muslimeen
US Military Intervention in Libya will be opposed by
Muslims. Most of Libya is already under Islamic control
We urge the US not to intervene in Libya. The Libyan people
have not asked for any such intervention. Most of Libya has
passed into Islamic control both east and west of Tripoli.
Col. Gaddafi is carrying on a futile battle against Islam in
Tripoli and the nearby areas.
Gaddafi was a nationalist and Africanist at one time.
However, he could not tolerate the rise of the Islamic
opposition. In his fear of being overthrown by the "mullahs"
he linked up with the US, surrendered his nuclear assets and
paid for the Lockerbie act of terrorism.
Gaddafi's weird claim that Al-Qaida is behind the uprising,
and his constant harping on "Islamic extremism," indicates
that he is expecting support from the western powers. It is
quite possible that the West will use his stance to
intervene in Libya.
America and Britain have been friends of Gaddafi for quite
some time now. Both oil interests and the war against
"terrorism" have united them. It took President Obama nine
days of carnage in Libya to express criticism of Gaddafi. It
appears that the White House saw the opportunity to be seen
on the right side and to use the opportunity ONLY when it
realized that Gaddafi could not win.
Sanctions have been imposed on Libya just a couple of days
back. This will only hurt the Libyan people. They are going
to need international humanitarian support rather than
sanctions.
We understand that the Salafi movement is strong in Benghazi
and the eastern towns which have driven out Gaddafi's
forces. The Muslim Brotherhood, though very weak, also has
some resonance. It means that Libya will be Islamic,
inshallah, after Gaddafi. These facts might be goading the
Zionist lobby to urge US military intervention. That would
be very unwise. Remember Iraq! The people will resist!
Instead of intervening, America should concede the right of
the Libyan people to form an Islamic state.
Spotlights on Libya:
From Imam Badi Ali [National Islamic Shoora] Jamaat
al-Muslimeen, NC
Spotlight #1: The Pharoah considered himself God. How did he
arrive at this grave error? It was his courtiers and
admirers, his people, who made him feel comfortable with
this distortion of fact. That's what happened to Mubarak of
Egypt, Ben Ali of Tunisia and Qaddafi of Libya. They did not
suddenly arrive at the false view of themselves. Those who
surrounded them made them think so. These hypocrites are a
danger to their nations. In USA too we can see "Muslims"
blindly supporting the power of America.
Spotlight #2: Scholars like Muslim Brotherhood's Shaikh
Qaradawi did not issue a Fatwa against Mubarak for 30 years.
Nor did he issue a Fatwa against Qaddafi for 42 years. Now
he takes a high spiritual stance and pretends that he is a
new Khomeini. Not so! This behavior is not Islamic at
all.
Spotlight #3: See the Wisdom of Allah and His planning. He
gave 30 years to Mubarak and then wrapped him up in 18 days.
He gave 42 years to Qaddafi and sent him into a frenzy of
craziness within 9 days. Fear Allah! He gives you time and
then He grabs you and drags you by the forelock!
Spotlight #4: Look at the critics of Qaddafi, spouting their
condemnation from all over the world. The Islamic critics,
the honest voices of those sacrificing themselves within
Libya, are not being heard. Instead those who live
comfortably overseas and have been working for and with
Qaddafi for decades are claiming to be his critics. We need
honest leadership and it is in the liberated areas of Libya.
Even al-Jazeerah is constantly repeating the secularist
"outside" viewpoints. Why can't we see CLEAR photos of
Libya?

New Trend and Palestinian Tragedy/Appeal Distributed
On February 25, 2011 selected articles from New Trend were
given to 45 after juma' at the Muslim Community Center [MCC]
in the Silver Spring area of Maryland. Most of the people
were Arabs, and West Africans with a few from India and
Pakistan.
Separately, an information card printed by "If Americans
Knew" about Tom Hurndall was given to 53 people. Tom, a US
citizen, was killed by an Israeli sniper when he tried to
move Palestinian children to safety near Gaza. Attached to
the card was a sticker which said: "The war in Israel is not
a war between Muslims and Jews...it's a war between good and
evil."
The New Trend articles included Dr. Shabazz'

wisdom on
education and inequality, Imam Badi's Spotlights about
credit cards, Egypt and Gaza, Dr. Siddique's khutba on women
in Islam and the need for Shii-Sunni unity, plus Ghaddafi's
killing spree and Sis. Sofia's call for Global Muslim
Unity.
Outreach #2
Baltimore Activists to Help with Boycott of Businesses which
Support Israel.
After Dr. Siddique's khutba in Baltimore, Jamaat
al-Muslimeen's Boycott Movement brochure was picked up by 20
Muslim activists. They plan to spread the appeal to boycott
pro-Israel businesses far and wide in Baltimore. The
pro-Israeli businesses include Coca Cola, Nestle, Starbucks,
Calvin Klein, Gap and Estee Lauder.
Peace Activist Br. Hodari Abdul-Ali
African American Muslim Leader Speaks at Lincoln
University
On February 22, a Lincoln University [Pennsylvania]
audience enjoyed an hour long presentation by Br. Hodari
Abdul-Ali on "Changing Africa." The auditorium was almost
full when the peace activist spoke.
Br. Hodari brought unusual teaching skills which kept his
young audience alert and involved. He gave gifts to those
young people who answered his questions correctly. These
included educational videos of the correct situation in
Darfur.
Some of the points Br. Hodari made were:
-
Africa is central to the world's strategic balance as can
be seen in the events in North African countries such as
Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya.
 -
Africa is the richest continent in the world, with
products such as gold, diamonds, uranium, rubber, coffee
etc. The African people have been denied the fruits of their
own wealth but that will change.
 -
The Black or Kemet culture of Africa was highly advanced
and predated European advances in civilization.
 -
Africa is almost 80% Muslim. Hence, to understand Africa,
we must understand Islam.
 -
The map of Africa has been drawn by the western powers
and has cruelly divided the people of Africa. The
development of Africa as a continental unity, with great
diversity unified by values, affirms the growth of a new
Africa.

Br. Hodari is a prominent Muslim and African American leader
in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He was introduced
by Dr. Kaukab Siddique as a contributor to peace and unity
in Africa which in turn makes global understanding
possible.
Palestinians will Realize, US is no Friend of Theirs
by Molly Moore [Maryland]
This is one of the most hypocritical and shameful things the
U.S. has ever done ("U.S. vetoes resolution on Israeli
settlements" Baltimore Sun, 2-19-11), even surpassing in its
hypocrisy all the other U.S. vetoes of U.N. condemnations of
Israel's international law violations.
Through all these years, and all the peace "processes," the
U.S. began by affirming that Israeli settlements are in fact
illegal according to the Geneva Convention, then somewhat
later this is tempered by calling settlements "impediments
to peace," then later on they are termed "not helpful."
Now, apparently Ambassador Rice, even though considering
Israeli settlement activity "corrosive to the process," is
apparently willing for them to continue "in the interest of
preserving conditions for negotiations." What does this
mean? How can continuing these settlements be "in the
interest of preserving conditions for negotiations" when the
very basis for the negotiations -- the land -- is being
swallowed up by the other party to the negotiations.
Surely now Palestinians will realize that the U.S. is no
friend of theirs, and never has been an honest broker for a
just peace. This is a truly asymmetrical conflict, where
one side has all the power -- the U.S. and Israel against a
people who are being brutally oppressed by the very people
they are supposed to be negotiating with.
Merchants of Death
[Excerpted from the Independent of UK]
February 22.British Defense minister Gerald Howarth is in
Abu Dhabi, where he is leading Britain's biggest ever
delegation to an international arms fair. More than 100 UK
firms are showcasing their products at the International
Defense Exhibition and Conference, which is aimed at
governments in the Middle East and North Africa. Yasmin
Khan, senior campaigns officer at the charity War on Want,
called for the Prime Minister's "shameful" and "ill-timed"
trip to be cancelled. She said: "It is deplorable that David
Cameron is seeking to exploit the crisis by promoting sales
of weapons and torture equipment to the region." Sarah
Waldron, campaigns co-coordinator at Campaign Against the
Arms Trade, said: "The UK Government prioritizes the
interests of arms companies - it makes a mockery of claiming
to have a rigorous approach to arms sales. People in the
Middle East are dying in an attempt to get democracy and yet
Cameron and other ministers are still selling weapons used
to oppress them."

What does Islam say about Rape?
Hadith Stands by the Woman.
Merit in the Qur'an & hadith is Based on Behavior, not on
Gender
by Kaukab Siddique
Topics:
-
Basis of merit and Superiority in Islam.
 -
Hadith Indicate Process of Gradual Transformation of
Women's Situation. Death for Rape.
 -
Facts about Taliban go Against U.S. Propaganda. We reject
Imperialist/Zionist Agenda.
 -
Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine are Examples of Global Rape
and Resistance.

-
-
We Muslims must not let the opposing forces trap us
into a debate about male and female superiority and
inferiority. Gender is not the criterion for merit in Islam.
For instance, if a woman knows more Qur'an than a man, there
is no Islamic basis for saying that we will not listen to
her because she is a woman and that we will listen to a man
even if he is a fool.
 -
The Qur'an makes it very clear that it bases merit and
superiority on Faith-based BEHAVIOR, rather than on gender.
Here are the relevant quotes: Is the Qur'an a source of
guidance relating to men or to women? That question is not
relevant because the Qur'an says about itself: "This is the
Book in which is no doubt, a Guidance sure for THOSE WHO
HAVE TAQWA." [The Qur'an 2:2]
Taqwa is translated as conduct/piety/virtue based on fear
and consciousness of Allah. It is not limited to either
gender.
 -
All the forms of Islamic worship are similarly related to
TAQWA and not to gender. Let us take one of the most
important: Fasting in the month of Ramadan. The Qur'an
states its purpose in these words: "O ye who believe!
Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those
before you that ye may learn to have TAQWA." [2:183] Thus,
as the Prophet, pbuh, explained in Hadith, fasting is mere
hunger if it does not change behavior and brings about
patience and self-restraint [various forms of taqwa.]
 -
Where the Qur'an affirms the male and female identity, as
well as the differences between nations and tribes, it
restricts merit/nobility/superiority to those who have
TAQWA. There is powerful emphasis here on the affirmation of
TAQWA which makes gender and nationality/tribe secondary, if
not unimportant: "O people! We created you from male and
female and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may
know each other [not that ye may despise each other.] Surely
the noblest/best of you with Allah is the one who is best in
conduct [has the most taqwa] among you. And Allah has full
knowledge and is well acquainted [with all things]."
[49:13]

 -
Muslims who don't study Hadith are being told that Hadith
goes against the rights of women or that perhaps that it was
even fabricated. [The RAND Corporation was involved in this
campaign against Hadith.] Some people genuinely do
misunderstand Hadith because they are unaware of the purpose
of Hadith. The Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, did not right away
change the conditions of oppressed people, including women.
It took 23 years through a process of teaching, organizing,
hijra, jihad and consolidation of the Islamic community.
Hadith record the words and achievements of the Prophet,
pbuh, but they also record the terrible conditions of
oppression which continued to exist for years and were
gradually removed. For instance, the Hadith tells us that
some men used to beat women. It also tells us the
methodology the Prophet, pbuh, used to put an end to
beatings as well as psychological mistreatment of women. The
Prophet, pbuh, knew more women than any man ever has but the
Hadith tells us that he NEVER RAISED HIS HAND AGAINST A
WOMAN. In Islam, the Prophet's, pbuh, interpretation of
Islam is final in all matters.
Hadith tells us that Muta [temporary marriage] was rife and
polygamy was rampant and unrestricted. It also tells us that
the Prophet, pbuh, prohibited Mutah and put severe
restrictions on polygamy. The Hadith tells us that SLAVERY
was commonplace in Arabia and Persia and Rome. It also tells
us that the Prophet, pbuh, condemned slavery outright and
carried out various reforms to put an end to it.
In finality, Hadith in Bukhari's Sahih tell us that Allah
does not accept the prayers of a slaver. It also tells us
that the Prophet, pbuh, did not have a slave. Again, the
Prophet's, pbuh, example is final in all matters.
In war, Christians, Jews and pagans enslaved women captives.
The Muslims too did this for quite a while. The Prophet,
pbuh, gave a superb example in this matter, when he MARRIED
a captive women, Safiiyah, may Allah be pleased with her,
and honored her, and she became a Mother of the Believers.
Guess which of these Hadith, the enemies of Islam list? They
will always select Hadith about the transitional stage. One
will NEVER find a FINAL Hadith on these matters in the
collections of the rejectors of Hadith. These people are
dishonest.
Finally, the Prophet, pbuh, instituted the death penalty for
the RAPIST. Muslims of our times are so far from Islam that
they have not implemented this Hadith.
If superiority is given to anyone in Islam, it is given to
women who are mothers. The prophet, pbuh, put the mother 3
times above the father. The Qur'an puts the mother second
only to Allah. The Prophet, pbuh, in Hadith guarantees
Paradise to those who bring up their daughters well. He told
men that the best among them are those who are best to their
wives.

-
The enemies of Islam know that many women in the Muslim
world have not received their Islamic rights. This situation
gives these enemies an opportunity to project their power
into Muslim lands in the name of "justice for Muslim women."
The most important example of this projection is the
propaganda blitz which was used to demonize the Taliban.
Afghan women outside Kabul wore the chadri before the
Taliban rose to power, and Afghan women wear it today.
However the Taliban were blamed for the chadri as if they
invented it. A communist splinter group working with the
Zionists distributed pictures of a woman being executed in
Kabul stadium by the Taliban. [A man was also executed, but
this agent group focused on the woman.] The claim was made
that the Taliban are woman haters. Here are a few facts:
-
Taliban leader Mullah Omar first came forth to punish and
execute the rapists of a woman. No woman was ever raped
under Taliban rule.
 -
Yvonne Ridley, a British journalist captured by the
Taliban, has provided a detailed account of the way she was
treated by the Taliban. Her account contradicts all the
stories against the Taliban distributed by the Zionist
media.
 -
The Taliban did execute a woman and did beat up a few
women in Kabul, a city which they took by armed force. By
comparison, look at the treatment of German women by the
allied victors in 1945. The Russian armies raped EVERY
GERMAN WOMAN from the age of 8 to 80. The American forces
"bought" German women for one chocolate each. The French and
the British too instituted a reign of terror in conquered
Germany.
During the Vietnam war, the Americans turned a friendly
city, Saigon, into a vast brothel even without conquest. So
when we want to condemn the Taliban, let's ask: Whom are we
comparing them with?
 -
Why do American activists who are skeptical of news and
features broadcast by the Zionist-controlled media become
very naive when the same media report on the Taliban? Is
there any reason why the media reporting on the Taliban will
be honest?

 -
-
We must understand RAPE, the ultimate crime against a
woman, to be able to understand the world we live in. Most
sociologists, psychologists and criminologists agree that
rape has little to do with sex and is mostly related to the
projection of male power against a helpless victim. It is
the ultimate form of terrorism.
 -
The problem we are facing in uniting activist groups is
that those who are politically organized do not focus on the
rights of women [or rarely do], and those who support
women's rights do not oppose, actively, war and political
oppression.
 -
From the life of Muhammad, pbuh, we learn that there is a
natural link between human rights and women's rights.
Westernized women in Muslim societies are often linked to
dictators and oppressors who are backed by western powers
and hence are ineffective
 -
The condition of women in the Muslim world can NEVER be
changed by the forces of secularism linked to the West.
America oppresses women, with 4,000,000 women battered here
every year. On what basis can forces linked to America claim
to be liberators of women in the Muslim world?
 -
People like [names deleted] played, deliberately or by
circumstances, into the hands of Imperialism and Zionism.
They have misunderstood Islam. We can never change Muslim
society by attacking our traditions and sacred norms. A
WOMAN WHO PRAYS BEHIND A MAN IS NOT INFERIOR. The form of
prayer is sacred because it was taught by the Prophet,
pbuh.
Umm Sulaim, r.a., prayed behind her son. Only an ignorant
person would claim that she was inferior to the boy she
brought up and taught. The form of prayer, the formal
separation between men and women, has nothing to do with
inferiority and superiority. It has to do with MODESTY,
which, we learn from Hadith, is an essential part of Faith
in Islam.
 -
Muslim women should participate in activism against the
Zionist Jews and the racist power structure in America. Do
we not know that a blind scholar of Islam [Shaikh Omar
'Abdel Rahman] has been buried alive in the American gulag?
 -
Muslim women should join Jamaat al-Muslimeen's BOYCOTT of
businesses which support Israel.
 -
Help the families of innocent Muslims either in prison
[like Imam Jamil and Ahmed 'Abdel Sattar] or standing up to
the power structure .
 -
Once you are part of the struggle and become part of the
Islamic family, academic issues of male/female will become
meaningless. Remember why ABU BAKR, r.a., was chosen by the
Muslims of Madinah. They knew he had served Islam with the
Prophet, pbuh, every step of the way. He was with the
Prophet, pbuh, when he was in the cave and being hunted by
the kuffar. He did not need an election campaign. The
Muslims knew that he was the servant of Allah who had
sacrificed everything for the DEEN [the Islamic way of
life.]
 -
The U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and occupation of Iraq
should be seen as RAPE on an INTERNATIONAL SCALE. This is
the projection of power at a scale unknown in previous human
history: daisy cutters vs RPGs, B-52s vs defenseless
villages, 'shock and awe' vs puny ack ack guns. The victim
struggles and screams but the victimizer is too strong. Here
also we learn the lesson of RESISTANCE. The world is
changing because the Iraqi and Afghan people are resisting
the most powerful military machine in the world. The RAPE
VICTIM must resist to retain some dignity for the
future.
 -
Understand PALESTINE as a case of RAPE. The Zionist Jews
project their power into Palestine and then label the
resistance as 'terrorists.' The Jews insist that the rape
victim must acknowledge the rapist Jew as legitimate. The
rape victim must let the Jew have his home, his goods, his
olive groves and be content with the Jews' leftovers.
Finally the rapist here wants the rape victim to speak to
him with respect and to give up all resistance. "ISRAEL" is
the ultimate in legitimization of rape. The rapist puts the
rape victim on trial!

25 February 2011. Action Alert:
Yemen - Killings of peaceful protesters continue despite
president's promise to protect them
-
Summary IHRC is deeply concerned by the continued use of
violence in Yemen by the government's forces against the
peaceful protesters. The Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh
had promised earlier to protect the anti-government
protesters and pro-government protesters equally. Peaceful
protests and demonstrations should not be prohibited.
Western countries seem to have conveniently forgotten about
the current incidents and violence in Yemen making no
mention of this critical issue. The Yemeni President must be
tried before the International Criminal Court, for the
ongoing crimes committed through his security forces.
The British government must not remain silent whilst
innocent civilians are being killed in Yemen. IHRC urges
campaigners to write letters to their Foreign Secretary/
Minister of Foreign Affairs urging them to call on the
International Criminal Court to take action against
President Saleh, for the continued attacks and killings of
peaceful protesters by his government forces.
 -
Background President Saleh, who had ruled Yemen for 32
years, stated that he had given orders to protect
anti-government protesters. However, protesters are being
killed day by day by the government's security forces who
are using lethal weapons against them. Despite the Yemeni
mass demands for his departure, Saleh has stated that he
will not step down until the end of his term in 2013.
President Saleh ordered security forces to intervene and
prevent any clashes between the anti-government and
pro-government protesters. On Tuesday evening, armed
pro-government supporters attacked thousands of
anti-government protesters, killing two of them, in Sanaa,
the capital of Yemen. A heavy armed security presence has
been reported in the different cities in Yemen resulting in
seventeen people killed over the last week, during protests
calling for the end of Saleh's regime. IHRC urges the
campaigners to write letters to their Foreign Secretary/
Minister of Foreign Affairs urging them to call on the
International Criminal Court to take action against
President Saleh, for the continued attacks and killings of
peaceful protesters by his government forces.
 -
Action required Write to your Minister of Foreign Affairs
/ Foreign Secretary urging them to call on the International
Criminal Court to bring Saleh and the others to account.

Rt. Hon. William Hague MP Foreign & Commonwealth Office
King Charles Street London, SW1A 2AH, UK
Dear Mr Hague, Re: Yemen- Anti-government protesters killed
by security forces
I am deeply concerned over the use of live ammunition and
tear gas against the civilians in Yemen, despite the promise
made by President Ali Abduallah Saleh to protect the
peaceful pro and anti-government protesters.
The government's crackdown on protesters continues in the
different cities of Yemen where demonstrations are taking
place. A heavy security presence was reported resulting in
the death of 17 civilians over the last week by security
forces during the protests calling for the end of Saleh's
regime. Despite the Yemeni mass demands for his departure,
Saleh has stated that he will not step down until the end of
his term. He added that he does not intend to run for the
presidency elections in 2013, reportedly stating that he
will not concede to the demands of the protesters and will
not leave unless decided "through elections".
The incidents happening in Yemen are as equally as important
as the incidents in Libya and Bahrain. However, I have not
heard any statements by the British government condemning
the use of violence against civilians in Yemen.
I urge you to condemn the crimes of Saleh's regime and bring
it to the attention of the media. Please call for the UN
membership of Yemen to be withdrawn.
Furthermore, the imposition of sanctions on the Yemeni
government is vital until the government ceases using
violence against the protesters. The British government
cannot remain silent whilst innocent civilians are being
killed in Yemen. I urge you to call on the International
Criminal Court to bring President Saleh and all those
implicated in ordering civilian deaths to account. I look
forward to your reply regarding this urgent matter.
Yours sincerely, [Your signature] [Your name]

Pakistanis Rage Against US Intervention.
Brothers of Raymond's Victims Address Mass Sit-in Against US
Violence.
Islamic Leader Munawar Hasan Demands that Raymond be Handed
Over.
By Sh. Amjad [Lahore]
LAHORE, Feb. 25: The Jamaat e Islami chief, Syed Munawar
Hasan, has exhorted the armed forces, national security
institutions and the law enforcement agencies to protect the
citizens against the US terrorists and search out the spies
engaged in anti-Pakistan activities hiding in the US
Consulates.
Addressing a large sit-in organized by the JI at the Qartba
Chowk Friday afternoon against the killing of three
Pakistanis by Raymond Davis and to press for hanging the
killer, he urged the state institutions to foil the US
unholy designs against this country by rejecting
Washington's pressure tactics and temptations.
Terming the rulers as cowards and US slaves, the JI chief
deplored that President Zardari had not even uttered the
name of Pakistan's aggrieved daughter, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
He called upon the Punjab Governor and the Chief Minister to
register a case against the US Consul General for unlawfully
protecting the criminals and direct involvement in
anti-state activities, adding that the Consul General should
be kept in custody until the vehicle that ran over Ibadur
Rahman and the four armed terrorists traveling in that, were
produced.
Besides the JI leaders, the brothers of the Shaheeds, Ibadur
Rahman, Faizan and Faheem, also addressed the gathering that
raised slogans against the US and the rulers and demanded
that Raymond be hanged.
Syed Munawar Hasan told the emotional and responsive crowd
at the Qartba Chowk that if the Governor and the Chief
Minister were unable to perform their duty on this score, he
himself would accomplish the task, and warned that if the
killers of our sons were not handed over to the nation, the
government alone will be responsible for the consequences.
The JI chief said that the rulers loved dollars and were
even prepared to sell out their independence, sovereignty
and honor.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the nation was facing serious
threats from the anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan terrorism
unleashed by the US as Washington was out to punish Pakistan
for its defeat in Afghanistan. He said the JI had repeatedly
pointed out the presence of US terrorist organizations in
the country but the rulers kept complete silence on this
regard instead of nabbing the terrorists. However, he said,
the situation had forced the masses to come out on the
streets against the US and the rulers.
He said, the JI's "Go America Go" movement had now become
the voice of every patriotic Pakistani as the US wanted to
enforce its New World Order in the world, especially the
Muslim countries, through the IMF and World bank.
. Addressing the gathering, JI Secretary General, Liaquat
Baloch, demanded the hanging of Raymond Davis at the Qartaba
Chowk where Raymond had killed our innocent youth. He
saluted the martyrs' heirs for withstanding every pressure
from the rulers and refusing the sell out the blood of their
sons. He said this was also a challenge for the parliament,
the Foreign Ministry and the armed forces, and the killers
should not be allowed to leave the country in any case. He
sounded a clear warning to the rulers that if they took any
unconstitutional or unlawful step in this regard, the
Pakistani nation would make an example of them.

In February 1945, American bombers reduced this treasure to
crushed stone and embers; disembowelled her with high
explosives and cremated her with incendiaries .. .. It is
with some regret that I here besmirch the nobility of our
airmen, but, boys, you killed an appalling lot of women and
children. The shelter I have described and innumerable
others like it were filled with them. We had to exhume their
bodies and carry them to mass funeral pyres in the parks, so
I know .. .. The "Get Tough America" policy, the spirit of
revenge, the approbation of all destruction and killing,
have earned us a name for obscene brutality.

If the British Commonwealth and the United States last a
thousand years, men may say that this was their darkest
hour. Were all the crimes against humanity committed during
World War II the work of Hitler's underlings? That was
certainly the impression created by the fact that only
Germans were brought to trial at Nuremburg .. .. What is
less widely recognized .. .. is that the Western democracies
were responsible for the most senseless single act of mass
murder committed in the whole course of World War II.

Somali Sentenced to 9 Years: Attacked Cartoonist
A Danish court sentenced a 29 year old Somali to 9 years in
prison to be followed by deportation. He had forced his way,
with an axe, into a cartoonist's strongly secured home. The
cartoonist had published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad,
pbuh, which were condemned by peacefrul Muslim demonstrators
around the world. [One exception was Zaid Shakir in USA who
condemned the peaceful demonstrators.]
