Zulhijjah 15, 1431/November 22, 2010 # 46
Verse of the Week
"The Day they see the angels - no joy will there be to the
sinners that Day: The angels will say: "There is a barrier
forbidden to you altogether!". And We shall turn to whatever
deeds they did in this life, and We shall make such deeds as
floating dust scattered about. The Companions of the Garden
will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest
of places for repose."
-Holy Qur'an, 25:22-24
On the authority of Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him,
who narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
said: "Indeed, Satan has despaired of getting those who
perform prayer to worship him, but rather he instigates
hatred among them."

Jamaat al-Muslimeen NEWS
Non-Violent Resistance to Oppression
P.O. Box 10881
Baltimore, MD 21234
From Imam Badi Ali (National Islamic Shoora) Jamaat
al-Muslimeen North Carolina
Spotlight #1: We must protect the two Eids from attempts at
commercialization. These days are sacred and holy and should
not become like Christian holiday events linked to money
interests.
Spotlight #2: Never forget the central message of Eid
al-Adha: Sacrifice. Leave EVERYTHING for Allah. Sometimes
our children are shocked and their emotions are tested when
they see the animals they love being sacrificed. Allah tests
us by taking away what we love. We must learn.
Spotlight #3: Occupation is not peace. Groups talking to
occupiers, negotiating with them, and claiming that peace
will be achieved under occupation are living under illusions
which will not lead anywhere. Withdrawal by occupiers alone
will lead to advance in civilization.
Spotlight # 4: Serve the people. Feed them. Take care of
their children. Listen to their complaints. Help the youths
to be happy within Islamic limits. We tried it at the
Islamic Center of the Triad on Eid al-Adha and the days
after, and it works.
Outreach to 163 in Newark, Delaware
Zionism is Racism: Dr. Shabazz'
[
DrAAS.info]
Message and Shoora
Resolutions
November 16, 2010. After an Eid prayer gathering (wrong day)
in Newark, a college town in Delaware, Jamaat al-Muslimeen's
literature was given to 163 Muslims, a record for this area.
There was a steady, drenching, rain all day but exactly
after prayers, the rain stopped completely for exactly 30
minutes during which the literature was given to people.
Then it started again. (A little sign from Allah!?)
The literature was in three parts. Part one was a summary of
famous mathematician and philosopher Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz'
astounding analysis of racism during which he concluded that
Zionism is a form of racism which has the same
characteristics as the racism which people of African
descent have suffered for centuries. Palestinians are
non-persons for Israelis.
Part 2 consisted of Jamaat al-Muslimeen's resolutions
indicating that Jewish holocaust story should be subjected
to objective study, that American-NATO forces be withdrawn
from Afghanistan and Iraq, that Muslim political prisoners
rotting in U.S. jails be freed unconditionally and that
exploitation of women in America be condemned. It was the
entire list of resolutions.
Part 3 included Jamaate Islami Pakistan's expose of Obama's
visit to India and an intro to Sis. Nadrat's extensive
interview with Imam Jamil's wife.
The crowd was mostly Pakistani with a few Arabs and African
Americans. The imam was probably Turkish, a guest speaker,
who gave a very spiritual khutba, very different from the
"go to sleep" khutbas in US mosques.
Rude but important interruption
During the khutba, seemingly a new sister convert to Islam
grabbed a microphone in the women's area and loudly told the
women to stop talking during the khutba and pay heed. Many
Pakistani women are in the habit of chattering to each other
during khutbas. It was rude but effective.
Dr. Siddique's Interview with South African Radio
Discussion of Israel, Holocaust Story and Anti-Semitism
Zionist Censorship Exposed
On November 20, Dr. Kaukab Siddique was interviewed at 5 AM
EST by Al-Ansar Radio in Durban, South Africa. The veteran
interviewer, Abu Bakr Dawjee, was flabbergasted to see page
after page on the internet of Zionists and right wing
extremists from New York to Los Angeles to Israel attacking
Dr. Siddique. He asked the following questions:
1. Why are the Zionists and right wing extremists attacking
you?
2. What's your stance on Israel?
3. Are you a holocaust denier?
4. Why do the US media call you "anti-semitic ?"
5. How widespread is the campaign against you?
6. What is the US Muslim response?
7. What can be done to support your work?
8. If you are removed from your job, what will you do?
9. Which side is Obama on?
10. What are the chances of your defeat or victory?
Here is a summary of Dr. Siddique's responses:
I tell it like it is. Israel is an illegitimate
entity imposed by force of arms on Palestine. No Muslim in
America dares to say this truth and stand by it in public. I
say, Israel can and should be dismantled through united
action by the Muslim world. They say, how dare you! ("They"
are the White Supremacists and White Jews-zionists.)
When the Zionists and right wingers attacked me
for condemning Israel, they found little support. Then they
dug up discussions of the Jewish holocaust on my blog and
this time they found plenty of support.
The US is a deeply racist country but laws
against racist activities protect the public from blatant
expressions of hatred. So when the Zionists want to
discredit someone, they call him "anti-semitic, which is a
way of calling someone a racist. If the label sticks, the
person is discredited forever.
The Zionist Jews are having a problem making the
label stick to me because my religion forbids me from
opposing anyone for his or her race. Also, I am a semite
myself. My ancestors were semites from Arabia who moved to
what is now Pakistan. So to call me anti-semitic would mean
that I am anti myself!
The Jewish holocaust story needs to be analyzed
and researched. Most Americans do not realize that the
Holocaust was not an event in itself between bad guy Hitler
and the Jews. It was part of a horrible war in which many
nations suffered tremendous losses. The highest losses and
atrocities were suffered by the Russians followed by the
Poles, the Jews, the Japanese and the Germans. Americans are
not told that every German city was literally incinerated by
the British and American bomber fleets.
I am not an expert in Holocaust studies but those
who do study it point out big holes in the Jewish version,
including once popular stories which turned out to be sheer
fabrications (as often happens in wars). No one says that
the Jews did not suffer tremendously.
President Ahmedinejad of Iran has called for
objective and critical studies of the holocaust. He was
accused of being anti-semitic. President Carter called the
settlements "Apartheid." He was given the same label.
The campaign against me is continent-wide, and
has been fueled from Israel. Right wing extremists like
Limbaugh and CBN (a Pat Robertson Islam-hating "Christian"
network) made it into a campaign.
Seemingly under Jewish instigation, Pennsylvania
lawmakers came to my university, Lincoln, and pressured the
President of Lincoln to condemn me, which he finally did.
This would have reached President Obama if he had been up
for elections. These people have no case. They don't try to
argue. They go to your job and use censorship as their main
weapon.
The condition of Muslim groups in America is
pathetic. ISNA-ICNA-MPAC-WD have become like Muslim
extensions of the power structure. The leaders of ICNA and
ISNA work with/for the State Department. They dare not speak
critically of the Holocaust or question Israel's legitimacy.
Remember, we still have freedom of expression in
the U.S. No one is stopping the Muslims from saying
anything. ISNA-ICNA are behaving like puppet Qadianis of
their own choice, not because they are under any compulsion.
Alhamdulillah, owing to the efforts of Jamaat
al-Muslimeen, we are getting a steady flow of support from
independent Muslims, believing Christians, and even some
Jews. New Trend's website is getting impressive traffic.
Inshallah, we will not only survive, we might even defeat
the Zionists. Of course, the risk is high from Zionist nuts
and right wing extremists, and the risks range from death to
joblessness. I could be living on food stamps one day, but
Allah does not allow me to kowtow to the enemies of
humanity, the Israelis.

Hadith Studies
Both the Qur'an and the Authentic Hadith of the Prophet
(pbuh) are Safeguarded by Allah.
Evidence From the Qur'an to Refute those who Think the
Qur'an alone is Safeguarded.
By Kaukab Siddique, Ph.D
Question: Sis. Mehjabeen writes from Edmonton, Canada: I
read your article in which you say that Jewish scholars
attacked Hadith and rejecters of Hadith are influenced by
them. I have the book Maqame Hadith, by Allama G.A. Pervez
in which on page3 he quotes God's words from the Qur'an:
"Surely We revealed this Qur'an and surely We are its
Guardian." (15:9) Then on page 4 he compares the Qur'an with
the Hadith and writes: "Allah Almighty has not taken the
responsibility for safeguarding anything other than the
Qur'an." How can you disagree with that. Allama Pervez is
right and you are wrong. Qur'an is full of certainty, Hadith
is a human product.
Response by Kaukab Siddique: Dear sister. Asalamu alaikum.
Surah 15, verse 9 itself indicates that the entire edifice
of the rejecters of Hadith is built on a false premise. The
verse does NOT use the word "Qur'an"; it uses the word
"Zikr." In Arabic it says: "Inna nahnu nazzal-naz-zikra wa
inna lahu la-hafizun." Thus the correct translation is:
"Surely We revealed the Zikr and surely We are its
Guardian."
Yusuf Ali has translated az-Zikr as "the Message." The word
is used numerous times in the Qur'an and these usages
indicate that Zikr is not only the Qur'an but the entire
Islamic way of life implemented by the Prophet (pbuh).
As we shall see, when Allah says that Allah is the Guardian
of the Zikr, it's a reference to the WORDS of the Qur'an,
the MEANING of the Qur'an [explained by the Prophet, pbuh],
the way of life of the Prophet , pbuh, [documented in
Hadith], the entire system of Islam transmitted by the
sahaba, the spirituality, the Law. ALL these are safeguarded
by Allah.
Let us look at the Qur'an's use of the word "Zikr."
Surah al-''Araf 7:63 uses the word not for the Qur'an but
for Allah's message sent to Noah as a reminder to the
people. It says:
"Do ye wonder that there has come to you a reminder from
your Lord [zikrum-mir-rabikum] through a man of your own
people, to warn you,-so that ye may fear Allah and perhaps
ye may receive His Mercy."
Thus the "reminder" and "warning" aspect of Allah's message
to others than Muhammad's (pbuh) people is also called Zikr.
Where Allah uses "zikr" as referring to the Qur'an, Allah
makes it clear that it is to be explained to mankind by the
Prophet (pbuh), which is precisely the role of Hadith:
"(We sent them) with clear signs and scriptures, and We sent
down unto thee (O Muhammad) the Zikr, that thou MAY EXPLAIN
CLEARLY to MANKIND [li-tubayinna lin-naas] what is sent for
them, and that they may give thought." [16:44]
Notice that the Prophet's explanation of the Qur'an is not
given in the Qur'an itself but in the Hadith. For Muslims,
the words in the Qur'an are SEPARATE AND DISTINCT from the
words of the Prophet, pbuh.
At places Allah differentiates clearly between the BOOK and
the MEANING in that book (which as seen above was explained
by the Prophet, pbuh):
"We have revealed for you a Book in which is your ZIKR. Will
you not then understand." [21:10] or "Zikr for you."
It is this "zikr" within the Book which is explained by the
Prophet, pbuh, and is enunciated in Hadith.
Then Allah widens the meaning of Zikr and applies the word
to cover all the sanctities of Islam, the entire spiritual
and physical life of the believers, of which formal prayer
and zakat are only a part. The Qur'an is the center of this
Zikr, but the Zikr covers the entire area of life itself:
"...people whom neither sale nor trade can divert from the
ZIKR of Allah, nor from regular prayer, nor from paying
zakat. Their only fear is for the Day when hearts and eyes
will be turned about." [24:37]
The Islamic way of life, as established by the Prophet,
pbuh, includes the Qur'an and the entire way of life based
on prayer (salat). All of it is Zikr and is safeguarded by
Allah, as in 15:9. Note well this comprehensive meaning of
Zikr:
"Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee (o
Muhammad), and establish regular prayer, for prayer
restrains from shameful and evil deeds: and ZIKR of Allah is
the greatest without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that
ye do." [29:45]
Among the Qur'an's content is a strong element of admonition
as well as of good news. The Qur'an connects the Prophet's
role of being a warner (nazeer) and Bashir (bringer of good
tidings) with its own purpose. The verse about admonition
also indicates clearly that the ZIKR is the meaning of the
Qur'an and not the WORDS of the Qur'an:
"Sa'ad: By the Qur'an, full of Admonition [ZIKR], but the
unbelievers are steeped in self-glory and opposition ..."
[38:1-2]
Every Muslim, man and woman, is involved not only in
reciting the Qur'an but in the process of life enunciated by
the Prophet (pbuh). Hence the true believers, MEN and WOMEN
are "ZAKIRIN Allaha kathiran- waz- ZAKIRAT." [33:35] [Men
and women who engage much in Allah's remembrance.]
Once we have clarified the fact that by safeguarding ZIKR,
Allah is safeguarding the entire Islamic way of life,
including the Qur'an, let us note that the Qur'an sanctifies
the example of the Prophet (pbuh) as essential to Islam and
hence blesses and safeguards the Prophet, the sahaba (r.a.)
and the authentic role model enshrined in the Hadith:
THE ZIKR OF MUHAMMAD (pbuh). At a time of great stress and
difficulty, the Qur'an prophesied for Muhammad (pbuh) that
his Zikr or remembrance would be raised high in exaltation:
"And We raised high your ZIKR." [94:4]
Thus we find the name of Muhammad (pbuh) honored and exalted
next to Allah's in Adhan, iqama, khutba, kalima-e-tayyaba,
attahiyat, etc. Of special significance is the ZIKR of
Muhammad (pbuh) in the Adhan, the call to prayer, which
takes place FIVE TIMES A DAY around the world, from Nigeria
to Morocco to Sudan, from Arabia to Pakistan to Indonesia to
the Philippines. This call in which the ZIKR of Muhammad
(pbuh) is exalted is referred to in the Qur'an but neither
the command to give the Adhan nor the words of the Adhan are
given in the Qur'an.
IF THE ADHAN WERE NOT ENSHRINED IN THE HADITH, the entire
fabric of the Islamic world, which is knit into UNITY by the
adhan would not have existed. The ZIKR of Muhammad (pbuh) is
a telling proof that Allah safeguards the Prophet's ZIKR
(pbuh) as much as Allah safeguards the Qur'an.
The Pattern of Excellence and the Role Model for
Character
The Qur'an gives Muslims the example of Muhammad (pbuh) as
the pattern of excellence.
"Surely in the messenger of Allah, ye have the pattern of
excellence for one whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day,
and who does much ZIKR of Allah." [33:21]
Allah reassures the Prophet (pbuh) and the believers who
follow his example:
"And thou are endowed with an exalted standard of character
(and morality)." [68:4]
All Muslims believe that the Qur'an's teachings are for ALL
time to come. Like yesterday and today, tomorrow too
Muslims, following the Qur'an, will NEED to know that
pattern of excellence of the messenger of Allah (pbuh). Same
is true of the Prophet's (pbuh), personal character and
morality. Other than in hints and references, it is NOT
given in the Qur'an. If that pattern and that character were
not SAFEGUARDED by ALLAH, Muslims would not be able to
follow these important teachings of the Qur'an.
In the HADITH, Allah has safeguarded both the pattern of
excellence and the standard of character. How Muhammad
(peace be on him) lived and died, how he prayed and fasted,
how he fought and made peace, how he treated women and
children, how he dealt with slavery and oppression, how he
distributed wealth and transformed society, the SHARIA, the
Law and its application .... all that is SAFEGUARDED by
Allah in the Hadith. All that is part of Zikr of Muhammad
(pbuh) and part of the LARGER ZIKR which encompasses the
Muslim's entire life.
The Qur'an and the Hadith are intertwined and impossible to
be cut off from each other.
The SAHABA (companions) of the Prophet are the people who
transmitted BOTH the Qur'an and the Hadith. The way of the
Sahaba [with whom Allah is well pleased] is SAFEGUARDED by
Allah, otherwise how could they have successfully
transmitted the Qur'an and the Hadith to future generations.
Thus when the Jews attack Hadith and the Pervezis try to say
that the Qur'an is safeguarded by Allah and the authentic
Hadith of the Prophet (pbuh) is not safeguarded by Allah,
they are flying in the face of the Qur'an and are actually
saying NO to the ENTIRE ISLAMIC WAY of Life. They are
denying Zikr of Allah and the Zikr of Muhammad (pbuh). They
must be confronted and defeated on the battlefield of ideas.

Pro-US African Troops Kill 21 Civilians in Mogadishu:
Artillery Used
Witnesses said that African Union (AU) troops shelled the
area of Bakara market, the city's largest market, following
an attack on one of their convoys.
"The medical teams got an emergency alert and they rushed to
Bakara market where they have collected around 16 dead
bodies of civilians who were killed in the shelling," Muse
said.
Convoy attack
At least five other civilians were killed in crossfire after
a roadside bomb and an ambush hit an AU peacekeepers convoy,
witnesses said.
AU officials said that the attack on their convoy had
occurred but did not comment on any civilian casualties.
Al-Shabab, a key group fighting the government, said a day
earlier that they would continue attacks against anyone who
opposed their rule in the country, which extends to much of
Mogadishu and large parts of the south and centre of the
country. [Somali News.]

US Declares Jundullah a Terrorist Organization, Freezing all
Supporter Assets (Excerpts)
November 3, 2010. WASHINGTON: The United States on Wednesday
officially designated the shadowy Sunni rebel group
Jundallah a foreign terrorist organization as it blamed it
for a series of attacks in Iran.
"Since its inception in 2003, Jundallah has engaged in
numerous attacks resulting in the death and maiming of
scores of Iranian civilians and government officials,
primarily in Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan province," the US
State Department said in a statement.
"Jundallah uses a variety of terrorist tactics, including
suicide bombings, ambushes, kidnappings and targeted
assassinations," it added.
Jundallah (Soldiers of God) says it is fighting for the
interests of the southeastern province's large ethnic Baluch
community, who unlike most Iranians, mainly follow the Sunni
branch of Islam.
In July it claimed responsibility for attacking the Grand
Mosque in the provincial capital Zahedan, reportedly
targeting members of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards
Corps, killing 28 people.
The State Department statement "condemned the Grand Mosque
attack in the strongest possible terms." "The United States
extends its sympathy to the families and loved ones of those
injured and killed. The president and the secretary called
for the perpetrators of this horrific attack to be held
accountable for their actions," the statement said.
Officials in Washington said the designation is key to the
US fight against terror groups around the world.
The label as a terrorist organization means US citizens and
companies are prohibited from providing material support or
resources to Jundallah.
It also blocks any property and or funds belonging to the
group in the United States.
The Baluchis straddle the border with neighboring Pakistan
and Afghanistan and Jundallah militants have taken advantage
of the unrest in the region to find safe haven in the
frontier region. - AFP
Editor's note: As pointed out earlier, an Egyptian social
worker supporting Jundallah was killed in a U.S. air strike
in northern Pakistan, probably pin pointed by Pakistani
intelligence.

Mass Rally addressed by Munawar Hasan Condemns Price Rise,
Supports Kashmir
November 14: Syed Munawar Hasan, Ameer of Jamaate Islami
Pakistan and Sirajul Haq, Deputy Ameer, addressed a very
large anti-US rally in Jhang, an important city in Punjab.
Several thousand women were among the participants.
Hasan called for a dharna (sit down strike) in Islamabad to
protest the rising prices which are depriving the masses of
essentials of life while the rich are reveling in
luxury.
Syed Salahuddin, leader of the Kashmir Jihad Council,
condemned the treachery of General Musharraf, who he said
stabbed the Kashmiri people in the back.
The crowded was also addressed by Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui (by
telephone) the sister of Dr. Aafia who was reportedly
kidnapped by Musharraf-US agents and is now in a prison cell
in the US. Munawar Hasan condemned the arrest and
mistreatment of Dr. Aafia.
Famous Kashmiri leader Gailani also addressed the
enthusiastic crowd from Kashmir by phone.

MIRANSHAH: A US drone attack destroyed a vehicle in
Pakistan's tribal district of North Waziristan on Friday,
killing at least three suspected militants, Pakistani
security officials said.
Two missiles slammed into the vehicle in the semi-autonomous
northwestern district considered the heartland of militants
in Pakistan and the focus of a dramatic increase in US drone
strikes since early September.
Pakistani officials reported the attack as US President
Barack Obama and Nato leaders flew to Lisbon for a summit
designed to set a date to hand control of the fight against
the Taliban in Afghanistan to local forces in 2014.
"Two missiles were fired on a vehicle. So far three
militants are confirmed killed in this attack," a senior
Pakistani security official told AFP on condition of
anonymity.
Local intelligence officials said the dead belonged to the
Taliban and Al-Qaeda linked Haqqani network, but it was not
immediately clear whether they included any high-value
targets.
More than 220 people have been killed in over 40 strikes
since September 3, as intelligence claims emerged last month
of a plot to launch commando attacks on European cities.
The United States considers Pakistan's tribal belt an
Al-Qaeda headquarters and the most dangerous place on Earth,
and has reportedly criticised Pakistan's failure so far to
launch a major ground offensive in North Waziristan.
Friday's drone strike comes three days after a similar
attack killed at least 15 militants and destroyed a training
centre north of Miranshah. (Reported in pro-US daily
Dawn.)
NATO Supply Line Under Pakistani Attack
November 20: PESHAWAR: Unidentified assailants set fire to
10 Nato oil tankers in Peshawar on Saturday, reports
said.
According to police officials, six assailants attacked a

tankers, completely gutting them. The attackers fled while
opening fire.
The police also disabled a half-kilo bomb recovered at the
site of the attack. (DawnNews)
Spectacular Attack on Police Torture & Surveillance Center

November 11: Pakistani Taliban pulled off one of the
biggest strikes of the war between US-backed Pakistani
security forces and Islamic fighters. The target was the
CID police headquarter in Karachi which is notorious for
torture of Islamic suspects and for terrorism against the
public and opponents of the regime in general.
A handful of Islamic gunmen engaged the police in a fire
fight and used it as cover to drive a truck loaded with
dynamite into the building.
The explosion was huge and heard for miles. The security
forces have admitted 20 killed and 100 wounded. The actual
score may be much higher. The surrounding civilian buildings
related to the police community were also demolished with
scores of vehicles and motor bikes going up in flames.
Dozens of civilians were also injured.
