Historic Movement Against Zionism Launched by Jamaat al-Muslimeen:
Unite Against Zionism

On April 3, 2010, Jamaat al-Muslimeen's National Islamic Shoora delegates from various parts of the USA met in Greensboro, North Carolina to organize a nationwide movement against Zionism.

The Shoora meeting was a great success owing to the organizational efforts of Imam Badi Ali. He now has a team of activists from the local Islamic Center which organizes relief for Iraqi and Sudanese refugees, demonstrations for Palestine, particularly Gaza, and local links with civic works such as the census.

A segment of the meeting were chaired by Sis. Ashira who also gave the charge to the delegates by defining the meaning of worship in the Qur'an. Another segment was chaired by Br. Solano who is active in the Hispanic community. Most of the meeting was chaired by Dr. Kaukab Siddique.

Dr. Siddique emphasized the relevance of Jamaat al-Muslimeen's non-violent resistance within the limits of the law. A few people can change the destiny of a nation if their message is based in the Qur'an and the Hadith, he said. If the few devotees of Allah can mobilize the ummah, fearlessly speak the truth, organize with like minded people and constantly pray to Allah for help, they can be more effective than large crowds which lack direction and leadership. With Allah's help, with the Qur'an in our hands, with the Hadith as our light, we will defeat Zionism in its own stronghold, Dr. Siddique concluded.

Three eminent speakers at the Shoora were:

Attorney Thomas Ruffin from Washington, DC, who is defending Jamaat al-Muslimeen's civil rights. He is well-known as the attorney for the Black Panthers in prison whose parole is sought. He advised the Jamaat that if the FBI visits any member, they must be told to talk only to the attorney.Direct conversations can be harmful owing to the tendency of the FBI to interpret things.

The second eminent speaker was Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz who rebutted the existing theories of racism and connected Zionism to racism. Dr. Shabazz taught that race is a false construct and is used to divide humanity. There is only race: the human race, he said. Dr. Shabazz is a Distinguished Professor of Mathematics and Endoweed Chair at Grambling University in Louisiana.

The third eminent speaker was Imam Khalil Abdur-Rahman, International Representative of Imam Jamil Abdullah al-Amin. He quoted extensively from the Qur'an and the Hadith to debunk any cooperation with oppressors, particulary with Zionists. He gave specific examples of Imam Jamil's consistent opposition to and condemnation of Zionism.

JAM Committee to Teach Christian Churches the dangers of Zionism

April 3: The National Islamic Shoora set up a committee to educate Christian churches about the damage being done to America by Zionism and Israel.

The Committee will speak to the churches in the language of Jesus, pbuh, and the Bible. The committee is led by two Muslims who know Christianity from the inside. The representatives of the Committee are:

LAHORE, Apr. 6: The Jamaat e Islami has announced a countrywide movement against price hike, unemployment, load shedding [electricity stoppages] and frequent raise in POL and gas prices. The JI will work with the cooperation of other parties, traders, trade unions, and other organizations.

A decision to this effect was made by the JI central executive at its meeting here Wednesday and was announced by the JI chief Syed Munawar Hasan at a press conference at Mansoora. The schedule of the movement will be announced shortly.

The JI central body took strong exception to the ANP demand for waiving the conditional requirement for the Pakistan President to be a Muslim and also dropping the Objectives Resolution from the constitution terming it an attempt to undo the Islamic identity of the country and said every such move would be strongly resisted.

Syed Munawar Hasan said in view of the political consensus evolved for the 18th amendment, it had been hoped that the whole process would end up smoothly and the constitution would be revived in its true shape. However, these ANP demands had exposed its true agenda. He deplored the killings in the ANP rally at Timergara and said the party itself was responsible as it knew there was strong opposition to the naming of the NWFP as Khyber Pakhtoonkha.
He said that ANP move against the country's ideological character would lead to a countrywide movement like the one witnessed on "Khatme Nubawat "issue.

Commenting on President Zardari's address to the parliament, he said it was disappointing as the problems of the people were not addressed. He said the President was expected to assure compliance of the Supreme Court judgment on NRO to avoid clash of institutions but on the other hand, the President had mentioned the Law Minister more than once perhaps to chide the SC.

In reply to a question, he said that the Swiss cases must be reopened and the SC decision on the NRO implemented in letter and spirit.


Pakistan & Sudan: Islamic Unity & Investment Needed

LAHORE, Apr. 6: The Sudanese ambassador in Pakistan, Muhammad Umar Musa, visited Mansoora Tuesday evening and met with the former Jamaat e Islami chief Qazi Husain Ahmed.

JI secretary general Liaquat Baloch and Director JI, Foreign affairs wing, Abdul Aziz Ghaffar were also present.
The two sides exchanged views on matters of interest between Sudan and Pakistan.
The Sudanse envoy told the JI leaders that Pakistan and Sudan were linked by strong bonds of friendship and the hearts of their people throbbed together.
The envoy said that two countries were being punished by alien forces for their love for Islam. The US and the Western world was targeting them especially and attempts were being made to push them towards civil war.
However, he believed that the designs of the enemy would be foiled with the divine blessings of Almighty Allah.
The envoy told the JI leaders that Sudan would soon emerge a strong and developed country. He said at present, Sudan was the best place for investment and capital from all over the world was flowing there. He also invited the Pakistani brethren to avail the opportunity and invest in his country.
The envoy termed Pakistan as his second homeland and said he was thankful to the people of Pakistan for their warm love for his country and people.

Two of the tourists from Austria were arrested on Wednesday night in the southern city of Cordoba as they attempted to pray in the Great Mosque of Cordoba according to a report published by the Associated Press which appeared in the UK Independent newspapers website.
The Great Mosque of Cordoba was built after the Moorish invasion of Spain in the 8th century but transformed into a cathedral in 1236 when King Ferdinand III captured the city. Since then Muslim prayer rites have been forbidden inside.
The Great Mosque of Cordoba placed its importance amongst the Islamic community of Al-Andalus for three centuries. In Cordoba, the capital of Al-Andalus, the Great Mosque was seen as the heart and central focus of the capital. The Mosque was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984.

It hurt me no end to read your arrogant reply to my request, as a tax-payer who pays your salary to REPRESENT ME in the functioning of the US Government.
1. How is Israel a "key ally".
2. How can another country be a "cornerstone" to US policy?
3. What is "Arab forces"?
4. The bond "can never be broken" BUT Americans can be broken by continuing to send OUR money to another country, while our citizens remain in increasing disrepair.
5. Whatever wars Israel has fought is their business and of their choosing. America did not create the state of Israel - I believe the British did. So why have we inherited their responsibility?
6. I believe that your response does not address the issue of sending billions of our Pennsylvania dollars to Israel. It is a good thing to help establish peace. As long as we are financing the abuse of the Palestiinian people, we will continue to be looked upon as not remaining neutral; in fact, we draw the blood of innocent persons upon our hands.

Israel has been a key ally of the United States and cornerstone of U.S. policy in the Middle East since its founding in 1948. The country has worked strenuously to gain international support as a sovereign state and to seek an end to hostilities with Arab forces, against which Israel has fought five wars since 1948. Israel is one of our strongest allies and the bond between our two nations can never be broken.

The United States must once again take the leadership role concerning the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, to ensure that we can reach the common objective of a two-state solution, with Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peaceful coexistence and secure in agreed upon borders. A stalemate on Middle East diplomacy will only strengthen extremists throughout the world and breed further violence.

Atheists are not Against Muslims, says New Trend reader in San Diego

In an article in this edition written by Sis. Sofia [New York city], she mentions the many attacks against Muslims over the centuries by Christians and atheists. I would like to point out an error in her general allegations. I am speaking of current thought processes in the US and, unfortunately am not versed in history of hundreds of years ago about the subject.

Many atheists in the US today are outspoken against the hatred thrust upon Muslims by the US public. We have been open and vocal about such bigotry. Of course, we do have our own bigots, but, percentage-wise, they are much fewer than those who practive mindless Christian denigration of Muslims.

Atheists are religiously neutral. We are not bigots. We look at situations and assess them through logic. And, unfortunately for Muslims, our logic tells us that Muslims are unfairly denigrated by vile lies and a common misunderstanding by most Christians.

My record speaks for itself. I have written many articles condemning the denigration of Muslims. Many people write to me and ask if I am a Muslim and I tell them I am an atheist. For the most part, atheists are fair-minded people who use logic in their thought processes. Many of us conclude that Muslims are being unfairly depicted and this error in depiction has led to mindless violence against Muslims worldwide by Christian-dominated governments and individuals.

Please do not lump atheists together with Christians in the subject of denigrating Muslims. We are much more tolerant, and, more importantly, more intelligent in our views of all religions, including Islam. In my 15 years as president of the Atheist Coalition of San Diego, only once did a participant make bigoted remarks against Islam. Plus, he had a cartoon of a Koran being flushed down a toilet. I called him outside and banished him from the group. I told him that he did not belong with us and I never wanted to see him again. In addition, one of our regular meeting participants is Dr. Khaleel Mohammed, a professor of religious studies at San Diego State University. We kiddingly call him an "honorary member." It is a luxury to have him attend meetings because, if a question of Islam arises, he will gladly give us an honest and intellectual response.

But there are "self-appointed" and "self-anointed" preachers of Islam, who need to read this. Could the sister or you or somebody who owns the copyright submit it as opinion or "letter-to-the-editor" @ The Kalamazoo Gazette, as syndicated column, or whatever maybe the legal mechanism; you must know about these issues much better than I could ever do. It is not my forte.

"We've shot an amazing number of people and killed a number and, to my knowledge, none has proven to have been a real threat to the force."

That was General Stanley McChrystal, supreme commander of United States forces in Afghanistan, late last month - during one of the virtual "town hall" meetings held with US troops every two weeks, as reported in the New York Times.
McChrystal added, "To my knowledge, in the nine-plus months I've been here, not a single case where we have engaged in an escalation of force incident and hurt someone has it turned out that the vehicle had a suicide bomb or weapons in it and, in many cases, had families in it."

So here's the war hero responsible for conducting President Barack Obama's "good war" in Afghanistan admitting on the record what really goes on at times in these checkpoints, while also shedding some light over those recurrent missile bombings of Afghan wedding parties.

Since Obama's summer 2009 surge in Afghanistan, US and North Atlantic Treaty Organization troops killed 30 and wounded more than 80 Afghans in convoy and checkpoint shootings; that's only the "official", documented list.

McChrystal's spokesman, Tadd Sholtis, said the general was basically using his comments to urge his soldiers to exercise "courageous restraint". Public opinion in the Pentagon-defined "arc of instability" from the Middle East to Central Asia may see it for what it is: the "rules of engagement" for a Pentagon serially engaged in perpetrating "collateral damage".

'Look at those dead bastards'
The direct connection between the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the prevailing "shoot an amazing number of people" rules of engagement in both, has just been provided by the small, independent Wikileaks website.

This Monday, Wikileaks released an up-to-now secret, decrypted air strike video of a massacre of civilians in the southeastern suburb of New Baghdad on July 12, 2007, conducted by the 30mm cannon fire of Apache helicopters. The website said the video and supporting documents were offered by "military whistleblowers".

Wikileaks calls it "Collateral Murder" (see the video at www.collateralmurder.com) . This is definitely not Academy Award winner The Hurt Locker - where American soldiers are selfless heroes and Iraqis are faceless ghosts. This is real life - with American soldiers as video game killers and Iraqis as corpses. These are the kind of heroes who mistake a telephoto lens for an rocket-propelled grenade.

The video speaks for itself. Among those gunned down from above were Reuters photographer Namir Noor-Eldeen, 22, and driver Saeed Chmagh, 40 (both shot dead), as well as two Baghdad kids (both seriously wounded).

Reuters had been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act since 2007. David Schlesinger, editor-in-chief of Reuters news, released a statement on Monday saying, "The video ... is graphic evidence of the dangers involved in war journalism and the tragedies that can result." No criticism of the Pentagon, not even when all the signs point to a Pentagon-orchestrated cover-up. "There is no question that coalition forces were clearly engaged in combat operations against a hostile force," spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Scott Bleichwehl said at the time.

As a document of the tragedy and absurdity of the continuum Afghanistan-Iraq - and of a series of Pentagon-sanctioned war crimes - this video tells it like it is, louder than any anti-war manifesto published or broadcast since 2001. And no - it will not be running for Best Documentary Short in the 2011 Oscars.

Brooklyn Rabbi Baruch Lebovits convicted in sex assault on boy, faces decades behind bars

Rabbi Baruch Lebovits is facing a long prison term after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage boy.
A Brooklyn rabbi faces decades behind bars - and sentencing on the eve of Passover - after a jury quickly convicted him of sexually assaulting a teenage boy.
Rabbi Baruch Lebovits showed no reaction as Brooklyn Supreme Court jurors found him guilty on eight of 10 counts after three hours of deliberations.
"Thank God, justice is served," the victim's father said in the packed courtroom as Lebovits family members wiped tears from their eyes.
"This makes a statement to the Jewish community," said Beth Kaplan of the group Sacred Lives, one of several advocates who sat through the week-long trial.
"There is denial. The majority of the Orthodox community doesn't believe this can happen. Here we see it can happen."
Prosecutor Miss Gregory had told jurors that Lebovits, 59, lured his son's friend, who was 16 at the time, into a car with a promise of driving lessons in 2004 and 2005. The young man testified that Lebovits would have him pull over and then perform a sex act on him.
There was no physical evidence, and the accuser was a recovering drug addict and a thief - points defense lawyer Arthur Aidala hammered home.
He claimed the victim was trying to shake down Lebovits, who owned a Borough Park travel agency - and said a detective withheld a document showing the victim had talked about being paid off.
Lebovits, who still faces charges he molested two other minors, could get up to four years on each count.
