"Fasting is Mine and it is I who give reward for it. One gives up sexual passion, food and drink for My sake. Fasting is like a shield, and one who fasts has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. The change in the breath of the mouth of one who fasts is better in Allah's estimation than the smell of musk."

Outreach: Appeal to Southern California Mosques: Boycott Businesses which Support Israel

The new Jamaat al-Muslimeen card to BOYCOTT Israel has been sent to 53 mosques and Islamic centers in southern California. A cover letter went with the card appealing to Muslims to join the boycott.

America's nine million Muslims can make a difference. Everyone can join this form of non-violent resistance. The apartheid entity known as Israel can be brought to is knees if its economy declines. Around the globe, non-Muslims too are joining the boycott. The boycott has a ripple effect.

Ramadan can help us to stay away from Starbucks, McDonalds and Coca Cola. That should be easy. Nestle has many brands. Be careful of the water you buy or the evaporated milk, etc.

Let me know if you needs copies of the letter or the card. Let's do our part to remove the grip of Israel from Gaza and all of Palestine.

Outreach: Baltimore African American Community Embraced Islam in Numbers:Invite them to Boycott Israel.

August 21, 2009: Masjid al-Haqq is in the heart of the city of Baltimore. Here about 200 to 300 people, mostly African Americans, came for Juma. Years back W.D. Muhammad's men withdrew from here or were told to leave and the population in the area started embracing Islam, some of them quite young, including couples to whom I gave the shahada at our masjid on York road.

This Juma' Jamaat al-Muslimeen literature was given to 64 people. Of these, 32 were given the new card Jamaat produced urging a boycott of businesses which support Israel. Another 16 people were given an article about the FBI use of informants to arrest African American Muslims in upstate New York along with a note about chief informant "Imam" Siraj Wahhaj who slandered the Blind Shaikh [Dr. Omar Abdel Rahman]. Another 8 people were given a Jamaat report about Holy Land Foundation which was unjustly closed down by a Zionist related court in Texas. Another 8 people were given an article about the media propaganda against the elections in Iran plus reports on Taliban resistance to NATO and the tragedy of the Red Mosque in Islamabad,.

The khutba was upbeat and the imam promised that Ramadan would be based on crescent sighting Sunnah, not on calculation.

"My stance on this issue isn't politically expedient. I am the first Muslim in the legislature. Homosexuality is strictly forbidden in Islam. As such I have evinced much grief from my most conservative supporters.
But I recognize that I represent people of all faiths and no faith at all. If I tried to enforce religion by law — as in a theocracy — I would be doing a disservice to my both constituents and to my religion."

August 18: American Muslims can only hope that President obama does not know Hosni Mubarak and that the tyrant of Egypt had his way smoothed to the White House by Obama's doorkeepeers [some say "handlers"] Rahm Emmanuel and Axelrod.

Check out any human rights group. Mubarak's regime routinely carries out random and arbitrary arrests of "suspected opponents" of the regime. Torture is part of the routine. To crush Gamaa al-Islamiyya, Mubarak sent troops into mosques, killed countless Muslims. The wives of fugitive opponents were subjected to rape. Weaver exposed the situation inside Egypt. Judith Miller tried to justify it.

More recently Mubarak helped Israel to squeeze and starve the entire 1.5 million people of Gaza.

Egypt may have played a key role in creating the conditions which led 19 men to use American planes to attack the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The way Egypt devastated the lives of Islamic men and women might have led to the emergence not only of Dr. Omar Abdel Rahman but also Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri and finally Muhammad Atta.

On this visit Mubarak made it clear that recognition of Israel is no problem for the Arab rulers. The problem is that Israel doesn't want them!


August 18, 2009: Egyptian criminal Mubarak with Obama. Is this Obama's message for Ramadan?

The great Egyptian scholar Dr. Omar 'Abdel Rahman, the spiritual leader of Egypt's Islamic masses, is in an American "hospital prison" to please Mubarak. He was sentenced by a Jewish-Zionist Judge, Michael Mukasey [Bush's last attorney general], with the help of "Muslim" collaborators "imam" Siraj Wahhaj and Al-Amoudi's group.

The best way for Obama to show that he is genuine about not fighting Islam would be to release Shaikh Omar 'Abdel Rahman. He has suffered enough on fake conspiracy charges. Let him go Mr. Obama. Let him spend his last days with his family. His message of Jihad has already spread around the Muslim world. There is no point in keeping a blind, diabetic man in a cell. Gordon is well-known of his anti-Islamic motivations and also for being an outstanding supporter of the state of "Israel ". On January, 2009 and while Israel was massively bombarding schools and hospitals in the Gaza Strip, Gordon participated in a pro-Israeli rally in Scottsdale and expressed his support to the Zionist entity. Locally, the city of Phoenix banned parking during Juma prayers times by North Phoenix Islamic Center, Gordon refused even to meet personally with the Mosque committee to discuss the matter and remove the signs.

CAIR is also is inviting Senator Jon Kyle.
Kyle has a long history of hostility toward the Muslim community. For instance, Kyle hosted and sponsored a film screening at the Capitol building for a far-right Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders who claims that Islam inspires terrorism. Wilders was denied entry to London earlier that month because British officials said he posed a threat to public order.

Wilders' 15-minute film juxtaposes verses from the Quran with images of violence by Muslims. The film sponsored by John Kyle depicted prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a very negative and humiliating way, Wilders has called the Quran a "fascist book" and said it should be banned.
Our organizations will not be honored to attend this event with Gordon and Kyle.

American Military Base in Islamabad

It's an open secret that the Americans use their embassies to conduct intelligence and covert operations in the host country. There is no need to go in the explanation of such operations, as we clearly understand America is involved in anti-state activities in Pakistan. Besides the official attachments of their civil and military personnel in our establishment and cantonments, they have created a scattered network of minor covert command centres in different key locations in Pakistan. Following the attacks on some of their such centres, specially the Marriot Hotel, Islamabad and Peshawar, they manipulated to have a formally protected command centre along with a military base in disguise of Embassy in Islamabad.
They secured a very precious and strategic land of 18 acres just on the very back of the Presidency, at a dirt cheap rate of Rs 1 billion only, as they want to live next to their friends, the puppy and puppet rulers of this nation. Who granted them this land? Nobody else but our democratic leadership while ensuring their traditional commission. Following the failure of buying the Marriot Peshawar, they are going to make a state within state by building a de facto military base in disguise of an embassy, the world's second largest American embassy in the world.

It would be equipped with all necessary command, control and communication hardware along with hundreds of soldiers on this military base. And above all, it's around the Presidency, Parliament, Secretariat and GHQ. What else they may wish for? Without firing a single bullet, they are getting a de facto control of the nerve centre of Pakistan, to take charge of Presidency, parliament and GHQ, as they did in Iraq. Where is the writ of Zardari and Kiyani now? Isn't it a seamless challenge to their so called bloody writ, which they repeat every time before their own people.
What is an embassy meant to do on a foreign soil. It's only to coordinate and bridge the diplomatic ties between the two countries. But neither they grant visas to Pakistanis easily nor they involve in any promotion of trade and technology. Then what are they are doing? They are simply coordinating and facilitating the military operations, political manipulations bedsides sponsoring the Politicians, Generals, Journalists, Scholars and NGOs through media to destroy the socio-political and econo-religious fabric of Pakistani society. The current strength of 750 personnel in US embassy is already more than the double of it's limit. Now around 1000 strategic civil and military personnel are preparing in US to report to this new military base, in disguise of an embassy in Islamabad.
Our civil and military leadership has turned their eyes blind to their such activities. Just because they are their subordinates. The planted NRO criminals are looting and deceiving the nation in the name of democracy, whereas the sponsored military is fighting their war to eliminate all such elements resisting the American agenda, under the cover of war of terror. Who are these people? They are the traitors of this nation, who not only sacrificed the integrity, peace and prosperity but also the honour by selling the daughters of this nation to please their American masters. Just wait and see, whose daughter is the next? Don't they deserve to be made a symbol of Ibrat?

Everybody should realize the gravity of the situation and do whatever he can in his personal, political or official capacity to rescue Pakistan. It's constitutionally binding upon all to disobey any unconstitutional, unlawful and any such order which is against the interest of the nation. Anybody who supports such a sponsored leadership, due to his personal liking or interest, is indirectly involved in the treason against the state and it's people and would be responsible for any national disaster. A leader or an officer by himself is nothing without the support of workers or subordinates. Now it's a test of our conscience, whether we prefer the national interest over the personal benefit or not. If we can't, then there is no need to cry when there is suffering from poverty, injustice and humiliation all around. Only those nations survive and are respected, whose people sacrifice their individual interest over the collective benefit and sort out the evils. The choice is simple. Be remembered like a rich but hated Mir Jafar or live like a nationalist but honoured like in China.

Behind the Myth of 3 million

Many myths have been formed around the creation of Bangladesh. Among them is the fiction that the defeated Pakistan Army savagely killed three million people and raped three hundred thousand women during their less than nine months unsuccessful fight to preserve the integrity of a united Pakistan.

Recalling this 'heinous' Pakistani crime with suave moral indignation was made into a national ritual. Not only the beaten Pakistan Army but also the subverted Pakistan came to be portrayed as inherently evil and her dismemberment a triumph of civilized values over barbarism. No less a figure than the 'Father of the Nation' was made to consecrate the lore. With his stamp of authority behind it, his grateful children were implicitly compelled into faithfully repeating it. Not to accept it as 'the whole truth, nothing but the truth' with unquestioning faith was to fall short of being a 'Bengali patriot'. In those hallucinatory days of 'liberated' Bangladesh, the premium for such a terrible shortcoming was not merely dear, but potentially fatal. The 'permanent disappearance' of Zahir Raihan, the celebrated writer and film director, who showed the audacity of forming and heading 'The Buddhijibi Nidhan Tayithanusandhan Committee' (The Fact Finding Committee on the Killing of Intellectuals), in January 1972 [1] was a calculated warning to all doubting Bangladeshis. Understandably, the skeptics kept quiet and the scoundrels and the credulous joined the chorus masters in singing the saga of three million 'martyrs' and three hundred thousand 'heroines'.

Chapter- I: The Making of The Myth

1.1.   A Belated Bust-up:

In May 1973, Abdul Gaffar Choudhury, a well known newspaper columnist and close associate of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said: 'We are now saying three million Bengali's have been martyred. Without any survey we are telling three million Bengali's have died.' [1] After openly raising doubts about the alleged figure, Choudhury left Bangladesh for good for Britain.

It took another twenty years for the question to be raised again. Participating in a debate in the National Assembly of Bangladesh on 15 June 1993, Col. Akbar Hussain, a decorated 'Mukti Juddha' and a Cabinet Minister under both General Ziaur Rahman and Mrs Khaleda Zia, returned to the question. Making a pointed attack on the Awami League for its 'propensity to falsify history', he said that the Awami League had created the myth of 'three million killed', whereas in reality it was closer to a tenth of that figure. On the following day Shudhangshu Shekar Haldar, a Hindu member of Awami League, challenged Col. Hussain to substantiate his assertion with 'recorded proof'. Responding to the challenge, the Minister told the National Assembly that after the creation of Bangladesh an announcement was made to pay Tk. 2,000 to every family that suffered loss of life where upon only three hundred thousand families had claimed such compensation. Had there been three million individuals dead, their families would have claimed for compensation. Poignantly, Haldar could not, and did not, challenge the figure of those actually claimed compensation. Nor could he give any satisfactory explanation for the missing two million seven hundred thousand. Instead, he began inquiring as to what could have prompted the Minister to question' a well-known fact'.

Jamaate Islami rally in Islamabad Protests US Embassy-Marine Base Wednesday, August 19, 2009

ISLAMABAD: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) activists on Tuesday marched on roads in the federal capital to denounce US policies and reported expansion in the US embassy in Islamabad.

JI Ameer Syed Munawwar Hassan led the 'Go America Go' rally. It was the first rally organised by the JI after the emergence of reports about the increase in the US mission in Islamabad and the arrival of US Marines.

The participants of the rally, who were in hundreds of cars, mini buses, wagons and motorcycles, were carrying JI flags , banners and placards chanted anti-America slogans, calling friends of America traitors. They were demanding that America leave Pakistan. "The establishment of American garrison in Islamabad is not acceptable," said the rally participants.

They started their march from Aabpara and intended to go near Convention Centre. The demonstrators were also displaying banners with slogans against extension in the US mission in Islamabad. The rally ended near a highly guarded five-star hotel where it was addressed by party leaders.

Syed Munawwar Hassan questioned silence of the Parliament over the extension in the US embassy in the federal capital. "The National Assembly session is in progress for the last two week but neither opposition nor treasury members have raised this issue."

He said the allotment of additional 18 acres of land for the expansion in the US mission in Islamabad was yet another example to accept slavery of America. "All this has been done with the backing of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani," he said.

The JI ameer termed planned expansion in the US mission a threat to Pakistan's security and its nuclear programme. He also referred to a statement of the US president in which he said US forces would remain in Afghanistan and Pakistan till the elimination of extremists. "Whereas our point of view is that the extremism will remain here till US forces do not leave the region," Munawwar Hassan added.

The JI chief announced that his party would continue resisting US policies in Pakistan and the nation would not accept America's supremacy and slavery. "We will challenge and contest every policy against Pakistan's integrity and security," he added.

Important Islamic School bombed by U.S. Drone: 21 killed, scored wounded.
Dead include children and women.

August 21, 2009: In the Darpa Kheil village of North Waziristan an American drone fired missiles into a large Islamic school [medressa] set up by Jalaluddin Haqqani [who fought Soviet occupation at one time]. By August 22 the death toll had risen to 21 including 10 women and 6 children. Many others in the village were wounded.
It is said that America was trying to kill Siraj Haqqani, son of Jalaluddin and veteran Taliban leader.

Owing to a wave of anger in the population, Pakistan army ordered curfew in the nearby town of Miran Shah which is under Pak control, to pre-empt protests and demonstrations.

"Elections" Under US Guns Boycotted in Southern, Western and Eastern Afghanistan. Guerrilla Warfare Wearing Down NATO

Both National Public Radio [NPR] and BBC admitted that the election drama of August 20 was a flop in most of Afghanistan. Only employees and paid "voters" turned up in Pashtun areas, which are 75% of Afghanistan. In the north and Shi'a and communist enclaves, voting did take place but it was very thin. Abdullah Abdullah, one of America's men, is accusing Karzai, America's man in Kabul, of rigging and fraud.

Meanwhile bands of Taliban kept on hit and run raids across the country. Here is a sampling from AP and Reuters:

Kunar Province: August 20, 2009: An elite US trooper died of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit . He was assigned to the1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th MountainDivision (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y

Also Aug. 20 in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, an elite US trooper died of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was from the 2nd Battalion of the same regiment as in above item.

KABUL — August 19: The U.S. military said Wednesday 3 American troops were killed in Afghanistan, as militants killed six election workers amid growing fears on the eve of the presidential election that insurgents would mar the vote.
Two troops were killed in gunfire in the south on Wednesday, the U.S. military said, while a third was killed in an unspecified hostile attack.

Forty-four U.S. troops died in Afghanistan last month, the deadliest month of the eight-year war.

August 18, 2009:A US Army 1st Sgt. died in Kabul, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to International Security Assistance Force Kabul, Kabul, Afghanistan.

August 17, 2009: The U.S. said a roadside bomb Tuesday in the south killed two troops, while another died of noncombat-related injuries. No other details were released.

August 20: The son of a SAS hero was one of the latest British soldiers to be killed in Afghanistan, it has emerged.
Serjeant Paul McAleese, 29, of 2nd Battalion The Rifles, died alongside Private Jonathan Young, 18, of 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, in Helmand province on Thursday, said the Ministry of Defence.
Sjt McAleese's father, John McAleese, was at the centre of the dramatic raid which ended a siege on the Iranian Embassy, in London, in 1980.
The deaths took to 206 the number of UK troops killed in the conflict.
Meanwhile, the bodies of four soldiers killed in a weekend of violence in Afghanistan have been flown back to Britain..
The coffins were carried from the C17 plane before a private service was held at the base's chapel.
