WAR NEWS: Latest: Very Brief but Very Important:

Palestine: Israeli forces violated the cease fire several times, killing 3 civilians. In response, Mujahideen from Gaza killed an Israeli soldier and wounded 3. Hamas is distributing relief funds among the victims of Israeli bombing. Hamas remains strong and disciplined.

Pakistan: Maulvi Fazlullah's Islamic forces are implementing Shar'ia in Swat where rampaging Pakistani troops had made 500,000 people homeless since last year. The Maulvi told BBC [Jan 30] that the propaganda about his opposition to female education is false. Already the forces of Shar'ia are re-starting elementary education for girls in the war torn region. The Pak army devastated the valley and Islamic forces are beginning from the beginning. On January 30, Pakistan tried to re-take Swat but the army couldn't find any of the fighters. The capital city, Mingora was put under curfew to prevent the people from rising up and joining Fazlullah. Nine civilians were killed in the army's mortar attacks. [Pak troops came under Taliban attack in Malakand losing 4 killed and 7 wounded. They drove back the Taliban with artillery fire.]

Afghanistan: 3,000 U.S. troops have arrived in Afghanistan on a RUSH basis and have been deployed on an emergency basis in Logar province and Wardak province to stop the Taliban from capturing Kabul. Another 30,000 will be sent in April with a major plan to destroy the Taliban. U.S. sources say 14 U.S. troops were killed and 8 wounded in fighting in Afghanistan during January. British troops are looking for Taliban in Helmand province but can't find any. Jan. 30 the Taliban appeared, killed a heavily armed Brit and disappeared.

Iraq: January 31: Provincial "elections" were held in some areas of Iraq to provide an honorable cover for the withdrawal of U.S. troops. In areas where al-Qaida is strong, such as Diyala province and Mosul, curfew was imposed. There was extreme tension in Fallujah and Ramadi as tribal groups who have sold out organized elections. Roads in the Shi'ite areas were controlled by al-Maliki's troops with outer roads under U.S. control. These are "occupied" elections like ones in Indian-occupied Kashmir. The Shi'ites are benefiting from U.S. occupation as are some Sunnis. The CIA agent al-Maliki, now Prime Minister, has asked the U.S. military to stay till the end of 2011 though Obama wants to leave by mid-2010 to save America from bankruptcy.

During January 2009, 15 U.S. troops were killed in Iraq and 25 wounded. For 6 months U.S. forces have not carried out any operations, leaving the Sunni areas under al-Qaida and Islamized Ba'athists and Shi'ite areas under rival Shi'a groups. Iran trained Shi'ites, funded by Iran, are the mainstay of the Shi'ite regime in Baghdad. [Parts of Baghdad are controlled by al-Qaida and the Ba'ath.] [The situation in Iraq is dismal. PBS reported on January 23, 2009 that there is COMPLETE FAILURE of civil faciities in Al-Adhamiya, an upscale district of Baghdad. There is sewage in the streets and electricity is not one fourth of what it was under Saddam.]

The Republicans in Congress put up a united front against Obama's economic reforms but failed miserably. They ruined this country for 8 years under Bush. Now they want to stop reforms.

Under Bush, right wingers abused and attacked Islam and Muslims for EIGHT straight years, and tried to create war psychosis, fear, hatred and enhanced racism. These attacks were irrational and without right of reply. Emptyheaded trash like O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin, Hannity, Bernard Goldberg, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter and others carried on blatant warmongering and a steady spate of insults against Islam. O'Reilly went to the extent of claiming that a U.S. soldier who murdered a wounded, unarmed Iraqi lying half unconscious in a mosque was carrying out an act of self-defense! Malkin [mentally "white"] was pleased beyond measure when the Qur'an was dunked in a latrine. She made up a picture of it and put it on her web site.

These evil people were as much responsible for the war and the war hysteria as were Bush and his Jewish advisers like Wolfowitz.
Remember that millions of people, America's hate based White racist mass, still voted for McCain. Fortunately, America's majority did not buy the Zionist propaganda coming through the right wingers. The evil is still there, lurking just below the semblance of sanity provided by Obama.

After bloody attempts to crush the people of Somalia, the U.S. backed Ethiopian tank columns withdrew unconditionally and unilaterally from Somalia January 23-30. By January 31, Islamic forces had taken back ALL the positions held by the Ethiopians. Al-Shabab movement is insisting that troops from other African countries should also be withdrawn because they too had US/UN support.

Day 10 of Obama:
New Trend Congratulates the Turkish people for Prime Minister Erdogan's rebuttal of Israeli terrorist Shimon Peres.

January 30: When the Turkish Prime Minister returned from the Economic Summit in Davos, large crowds gathered to congratulate him for his reply to Peres, the president of the terrorist entity known as Israel. Others left flowers at Erdogan's home. At Davos, Shimon Peres had started the usual Israeli story that all those civilians in Gaza had to be killed because of the rockets being fired into Israel. Erdogan replied:
"When it comes to killing, you know very well how to kill."
The Israeli terrorist raised his voice to claim that Israel is the victim! [One has to be a Jew to believe such nonsense --Editor]
Prime Minister Erdogan replied:

"President Peres, you are older than me and your voice is very loud. The reason for you raising your voice is the psychology of guilt ... I know very well how you hit and killed children on the beaches."
The prime minister's wife, Emine - who this month organised a Women For Peace In Palestine lunch for the wives of Islamic dignitaries - also became involved, bursting into tears after telling reporters that "everything Peres said was a lie".

Earlier Erdogan had called Israel's rampage into Gaza a "crime against humanity" and demanded Israel's expulsion from the UN.

Most shockingly, David Ignatius of the Washington Post, who was moderating the debate, cut off Erdogan's reply, while he had given maximum time to Peres. [Source: British paper the Guardian.]

I could not help but commend your bravery after your confrontation with those brothers from the placid, struggling masjid Nur. In you I have found a renewed strength in the implementation of speaking against wrong. See, I have come to truly appreciate that it is definitely tougher to speak against evil than it is to speak for good because for the most part, as witnessed by you last jumah, people don't attack you for speaking for righteousness.

One of the things which I found disheartening, even before you wrote about it and thank God you wrote about it, was talking to a few of Muslims right in the heat of the Gaza massacre and finding out that some of the imams did not even mention the issue in their Khutbah. Even before evaluating their relationship with CAIR & ISNA, I found immense weakness in this.

So I thank you for doing what Hamzah, the prophet's uncle, would have done and I thank you for inspiring us by writing about it. May Allah continue to strengthen those amongst us who have the courage you portrayed! May Allah give the wisdom to the weak leaders among us to step aside so that the rightfully courageous and righteous one may rise to the position. Ameeen! More grease to your elbow Dr. Siddique! Answer to your comment: [Iran, for all its talk, has not helped the Palestinians. They have no anti-tank weapons other than RPGs usable at close range and NO anti-aircraft guns. If al-Qaida or the Taliban had been facing the Jews, the entire Israeli tank column would have been blown up.]

I am purely Muslim (not Shia nor Sunni); I do agree your second part of your comment but at the same time please DO NOT blame Iran.

Iran does not have access to Gaza since "Sunni" Missr is holding the access to Gaza. Sunni "Saudi" Arabia, Missr, Urdon were those who blame Hamas for this mess. (Shame on Sunnis). These Sunnis ba.t..rds are waiting for Israel to crush Hamas once for all. But Insha Allah they (filthy Suinni Arabs) will have to buy houses in US (Maabod of Arabs) now.

What's Wrong with the Jewish Auschwitz and Holocaust Story?

From my pre-teen years I was interested in the Second World II. I remember collecting the price, Rupee by Rupee [Pakistani currency] . of a two volume picture history of the War. The two volumes were a fine collection of the photos of allied armies in action which fought Germany and Japan. I was fascinated by the great moral endeavor of the allies against Fascism and Nazism.

For more than three decades I read books on the war written from the allied viewpoint, all the way from Churchill's history of the war, the American navy's version of the war, the memoirs of various generals down to the stories of soldiers and officers doing the dirty work in the battlefield. I swallowed the allied version of the war in its entirety, hook, line and sinker.

The first break in my adoration came when I saw a Soviet version of the Fall of Berlin. I was left with the disturbing impression that the Germans fought with great tenacity to the bitter end, and Hitler refused to compromise or surrender. Why would a nation cling to a man who was downright evil?

It took quite a while for authentic reports about Germany to become public. I used to read that Rommel was a great general. Later I learned that Hitler had some of the best generals Europe has ever known, among them Manstein and Guderian. About 50 years after the war, classified documents about the war started coming out. During the last 20 years or more so much information has come out that no serious student of the War blames Hitler alone as the source and instigator of the war. The breakdown of the Soviet Union [which was brought down in part by Islamic fighters in Afghanistan] highlighted the brutality and horror of Stalin's regime which made Hitler look like a neophyte.

Gradually the hysteria of war has been overcome and facts have made it difficult for me to accept the conventional wisdom of the Second World War. It is common knowledge now that Hitler did NOT want to invade England. Also, now we know that Hitler allowed the British army trapped in Dunkirk to escape. Hitler did not destroy cities for the sake of killing civilians as the British and the Americans did. He spared the beautiful cities of Paris and Rome almost without a scratch.

It was a war filled with horrors. Everyone suffered. War rumors caused each side to believe the worst stories about the other. War time propaganda reached new levels of sophistication. Goebbels became a household name for his pernicious ability to undermine the enemies of Germany through evil propaganda.

However, most people do not know that the Soviet Union had a war propagandist, Ilya Ehrenburg, who outdid Geobbels and primed the Russian armies to commit genocide against Germany once the Soviet Union broke through and won the war. Ehrenburg had with him a team of commissars including a superb propagandist/journalist named Vasily Grossman. Most commissars, including Ehrenburg and Grossman, were Jewish.

The WORST ATROCITIES AGAINST THE JEWS were committed on the eastern front when Germany invaded the Soviet Union. Most of these atrocities were committed not by Germans but by Ukrainians, Poles, Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians and still later by Hungarians. They had suffered serious actions at the hands of the Jews working for the Communist regime in Moscow. When the German armies came in and the USSR started collapsing against the German blitzkrieg, the victims of Stalin took bloody revenge from the Jews. The Second World War was not "nice." The Europeans broke all records in human history for barbarism.

After the war ends, usually efforts are made to create conditions for peace, to carry out processes for objective study of the war and to move into a hopeful future. However, what the Jews and their Communist allies did was to project war time propaganda into peace time: They successfully turned the horrors of war into a PERPETUAL THEME connected to the PERPETUAL collection of funds for International Jewry and in particular for Israel.

The Jews claimed that they had suffered more than anyone else and their suffering was the product of a mindset to be called anti-semitism. To make this horror come alive, the story of the GASSING of the JEWS in Auschwitz and other concentration camps was invented. This story is so horrible that once it's accepted, it puts the Jews as victims above ALL OTHERS for EVER. The claim was that the Nazis "exterminated" Six Million [always with capital letters] Jews. Of these FOUR MILLION were said to have been GASSED in the conglomerate of work camps known as AUSCHWITZ. Later, under criticism from revisionist scholars, this figure was revised down from 4 million to ONE million. However, the total continued to be touted as Six Million. [Poor math! Subtract 3 from 6!]

Revisionist scholars have shown that there were no gas chambers in Auschwitz, and even if there had been gas chambers, it would have been impossible to gas 4 or one million human beings in them during about 4 years. It would have been impossible to get rid of ALL traces of four million [or one million] people after they had been gassed.

The Soviets propagated the Auschwitz story because it helped to cover up the genocide they carried out against German civilians in western Poland, eastern Prussia and Germany itself. The western allies went along with it because it covered up their genocidal destruction of German cities. Every German city was bombed and burned with all its churches, schools and libraries. Civilians were systematically targeted. All this information is now available, thoroughly documented. However the Jewish horror story preceded this documentation by 50 years and preempted all condemnation of the victors of the war.

Here are a few basic facts about Auschwitz which Americans should know: Americans have been influenced by historians of the war who have shown little concern for facts. Hitler was seen as so evil that there was no scope for critical review of famous "histories." Here is my review of the most famous of these histories:

The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. A History of Nazi Germany by William L. Shirer, 1249 pages, Simon & Schuster, Inc. 1959, 1960, 1987, 1988, 1990.

Israel's war again against Gaza has been supported by a campaign of disinformation let loose by the corporate media in which Israeli officials and American Zionist Jews have played an important role. Language has been mutilated in this endeavor and extremely far- fetched interpretations of elementary facts have become commonplace.

This disinformation is distributed in the U.S. about Israel's victims. What would the Israelis/Jews and their supporters say about the Germans who were their avowed enemies? Within that context, let's look at a book which is central to America's view of what happened in World War II.

Shirer's book is the most famous of the histories of the war written from the viewpoint of the victors. In can be found in just about every public library in the U.S., from coast-to-coast. The Book-of-the-Month Club sold more copies of this book than any other.

By contrast, David Irving's book, Hitler's War, or his monumental Churchill's War, are not available in any library [with very few exceptions] and the author was imprisoned in Austria to silence his expression of dissent.

My reading of Shirer's book indicates that it is shoddy history, lacks any attempt at objectivity and is ridiculously low in research quality as compared to Irving's book. Here is a sampling of Shirer's tome:

Before Shirer begins his book, he makes it very clear that he is writing a condemnation of Hitler's Third Reich, not an objective history which would provide the facts and let the readers decide. He gives a page to four quotes meant to condemn Germany. The most propagandistic of these is from Hans Frank, the German Governor of occupied Poland: words which he spoke during his trial by the allies at Nuremburg after the war. Frank was trying to save his neck by condemning the regime which he had served. His words: "A thousand years will pass and the guilt of Germany will not be erased." [Frank did not escape the hangman's noose.] One opens this thick book and reads that quote from Frank before the book begins. Thus Shirer makes it very clear which side he is on: He is not a historian but a spillover from the hatred of the war, yet Americans think he is a historian!

For argument's sake, let's accept Shirer's familiar assumption that Hitler was the devil incarnate. Does that help us to understand Hitler's tremendous popularity among the Germam masses? If he was a criminal and all his men were thugs, how does one understand the willingness of his people to fight and die under his command in their millions? Here Shirer's history is hollow. Let's look at one of Hitler's greatest pre-war successes: The unification of Austria with Germany.
[Austria is now such a wretched servant of the Jews that in the year 2006 it sentenced David Irving to three years in prison. So much for democracy and freedom of expression!]

Shirer calls his chapter on the unification of Germany and Austria [page 322-356] "The Rape of Austria." This is comparable to the Israeli insistence that Hamas election victory in Palestine means that now the 'terrorists" have taken over the government of Palestine! As one goes through these 34 pages, there is almost nothing in them about the love the Austrian people had for Hitler. Almost as an after thought Shirer tells us that Hitler was received with tremendous acclaim when he visited Austria after the unification. He takes on the tone that perhaps the Austrians were crazy.

Most of Shirer's chapter is a blow-by-blow account of the machiavellian intrigues and intimidation Hitler used to get rid of the government of Austria to bring about the unification. In a footnote, Shirer tells us that in fact the government of Austria was dictatorial and communistic. Thus Shirer conceals the real conflict in Germany-Austria and the rest of Europe: the struggle between Communism and Nationalism.
[Communists were often Jewish and that played into Hitler's diatribes against Jews. A political factor was involved, not raw anti-semitism as we are often led to believe.]

Archives from those times are still available and they indicate that no human being in the history of Europe has EVER received such popular support and veneration as Hitler did from the Austrian masses. That's simply a fact of history, not a trick which Hitler played!

SHIRER and the "HOLOCAUST"

Shirer dug a hole for himself in the beginning of the book and in the later part fell into it. He tells us that he was able to write this monumental book because the "confidential archives of the German government and all its branches" were captured by the allies. He says this was "an event unique in history" that even "private diaries, highly secret speeches, conference reports and correspondence, and even transcripts of telephone conversations of the Nazi leaders" fell into the hands of the victors. [P. ix]

With that kind of availability of secret information, Shirer later in the book, during his coverage of the "holocaust" story, admits that Hitler's order for the extermination of the Jews is NOT TO BE FOUND in WRITING. From this he surmises that the order must have been given orally.[pp. 964-965.] He then claims that every time a German leader referred to the "final solution" of the Jewish question, he MUST have been referring to extermination. Thus he builds up his case for the Jewish claim that SIX Million Jews [in captal letters] were killed by Hitler's war machine [many by "gassing" in "ovens."] Sadly, he can't find Hitler's order for this vast operation. An objective historian like Irving admits that there is no order from Hitler ordering the extermination of the Jews; hence it is historically wrong to surmise that Hitler gave such an order.

A fatal flaw in Shirer's monumental history is his naive acceptance of the testimony of Hoss, the Commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Shirer quotes repeatedly from Hoss's confession to affirm the horrors allegedly committed at Auschwitz against the Jews.[pp.967-969] Shirer never took the trouble to study the origins of the Hoss confession and the process and circumstances through which it emerged. It has been used by the entire gallery of Jewish propagandists who wanted to affirm that 4 million people were "gassed" in ovens.

As Irving has shown, Hoss was subjected to severe torture by his captors after the war. He was beaten into a condition where he was willing to sign anything and was willing to embroider the alleged accounts of the "atrocities" he had committed, when he was brought to the Nuremburg tribunal. Hoss saw his life hanging in the balance and thought he could save himself by recounting the most astounding stories of "gassing" and killing which he was willing to assign to himself! [After the court got what it wanted from him, he was hanged.]

No serious scholar of Auschwitz accepts Hoss' confession which was compiled in stages and which he signed without reading it. Irving does not specialize in "holocaust" study but one of the best critiques was provided by a German judge, Wilhelm Staeglich, in his Auschwitz: A Judge looks at the Evidence.

Staeglich presents a detailed critique of everything Hoss wrote [or was made to write]. The whole story concocted by Hoss to save his own life was bogus and does not stand up to critical scrutiny. Again, owing to the power of the Jewish censorship machine, Staeglich's book remains almost unknown in America, and, of course, is excluded from all public libraries.

Shirer's account of the Battle of Britain too is shallow, to say the least. He ignores the data Irving has unearthed which indicates clearly that Hitler did not plan to invade Britain. In fact he allowed the trapped the British army to escape from Dunkirk.

Shirer is a popularizer of myths and legends. Unfortunately, the American people have been led to believe that he was a historian, even a great historian.

Statement on Obama Actions Thus Far re: Gaza: Hamas are Legitimate Reps of Palestine

"Mr. President: Give Us a Clean Break from War"

In a message to President Obama today, former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney wrote:

"It is time that the United States negotiate in good faith with Hamas, the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. It is also time that the U.S. government tell Israel to release the Hamas Parliamentarians it illegally arrested. President Obama, please say something about Gaza. You have been roundly condemned for your continued silence in the face of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel in Gaza. Silence is complicity. Not one more bomb for Israel."

Israeli action in Gaza has outraged the world. Starting with Israel's inhumane blockade of Gaza when it didn't like the 2006 election results that put Hamas officially into power. In September 2007, Israel declared Gaza an "enemy entity." Of course, Israeli efforts to isolate the Gaza Strip can be traced back to Ariel Sharon as early as 2005. In carrying out its military Operation Cast Lead, Israel not only committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, it also carried out a long-standing goal of Gaza isolation. The President's continued silence on Gaza and the Palestinian right of self-determination is unacceptable.

I would like to commend President Obama for recognizing that peace is the imperative and that the United States can play a constructive role in its attainment. However, placing a phone call to an irrelevant "leader" in an attempt to revive his political standing is not a route to peace: it is a journey down the same road that we're already on, that is massacres, genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, torture--all with U.S. weapons, paid for by U.S. taxpayers.

The President must call the elected representatives of the Palestinian people and that means dealing with Hamas.

President Obama has already spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. George Mitchell, the President's Middle East Envoy, is reportedly scheduled to visit the region, but is expected to meet only with Egyptian, Israeli, Saudi, and Jordanian leaders, and the West Bank's Abbas. Unfortunately, despite worldwide revulsion and United Nations outrage at Israeli actions in Gaza, Gaza has not been reported to be one of the Presidential Envoy's destinations.

Even worse, one of the first officials that Obama called on his first day in office was Palestinian Mahmood Abbas. Abbas, however, is no longer President, heading a government that has no opportunity to govern, from a state that exists only as a construct not made by the Palestinian people. For the United States to embark upon the path of peace, it must recognize and act on the fact that Mahmood Abbas is now irrelevant.

I believe that the call to Abbas occurred because of pressure on President Obama from outraged activists around the country and around the world calling for him to do something. But Abbas is irrelevant if the goal is peace.

If the goal, however, is to appear to be doing something while all the time doing nothing but allowing the violence of U.S.-sponsored military action to spread including saber rattling against Syria and Iran, then the President is on the right path.

The American people voted for change and peace. President Obama's current path will produce neither.

I have implored President Obama to say something about Gaza. He has been roundly condemned for his continued silence in the face of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel in Gaza. Silence in the face of such criminal behavior is complicity.

President Obama must urgently place a call to the elected government of the Palestinian people.

President Obama can send a strong message to the warmongers inside his own party and present them "a clean break" from war. I encourage him to do so. We will not be fooled by actions that have the appearance of putting us on a path for peace, but that are public relations projects that buy time for more war.

To activists and human rights lawyers around the world I say: Now is not the time to let up. We must be unrelenting in our pressure for justice and recognition of the rights of all peoples embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Those rights include the right not to be occupied. And the right to resist occupation. This is the embodiment of self-determination. And the Palestinian people are holders of these rights.

In al-Siyar (11/238), al-Dhahabi reports from Abu Ja'far al-Anbaari: When Ahmad was taken to al-Ma'moon, I was told about it, so I crossed the Euphrates and found him sitting in an inn, where I greeted him. He said, "O Abu Ja'far, why did you go to the trouble (of coming here)" I said, "Listen to me, today you are the leader and the people are following you. By Allaah, if you accept that the Qur'aan is created, a lot of people will go along with that, but if you do not, then neither will they. Even if this man (al-Ma'moon) does not kill you, you will still die, because death is inevitable, so fear Allaah, and do not go along with (al-Ma'moon).? Ahmad began to weep and said, "Ma sha Allaah" Then he said, "O Abu Ja'far, say it again,' so I said it again, and he kept saying, "Ma sha Allaah."
With regard to his being taken to al-Ma'moon, Imaam Ahmad said: "We reached al-Rahbah at midnight, and a man came to us and said, "Which of you is Ahmad ibn Hanbal" He was told, "This man." He said to the camel-driver, 'Slow down.' Then he said, "Listen to me, why should you worry if you get killed here and go to Paradise" Then he said, "May Allaah be with you," and left. I asked about him and I was told, "He is an Arab from the tribe of Rabee'ah who deals with wool in the desert. He is called Jaabir ibn 'Aamir, and they say good things about him." (Siyar A'laam al-Nubala', 11/241).
In al-Bidaayah wa'l-Nihaayah, it says that a Bedouin said to Imaam Ahmad: "Listen to me, you are a representative of the people, so do not be bad news for them. You are the leader of the people today, so beware of doing what they are asking you to do, lest you bear their sins on the Day of Resurrection. If you love Allaah, then bear this with patience, for the only thing standing between you and Paradise is your being killed." Imaam Ahmad said: "His words strengthened my resolve not to do what they were asking me to do." (Al-Bidaayah wa'l-Nihaayah, 1/332).
It was reported that Imaam Ahmad said: "I never heard any stronger words at that time than what a Bedouin said to me at Rahbat Tawq, a village between al- Raqqah and Baghdaad on the banks of the Euphrates. He said, "O Ahmad, if they kill you for the truth, you will be a shaheed (martyr), and if you live, you will be praised." And so my heart grew strong." (Siyar A'laam al-Nubala', 11/241).
Imaam Ahmad said of the young man Muhammad ibn Nooh, who accompanied him at that time of trial: "Even though he was so young, he had such great knowledge, and I never saw anyone who adhered more firmly to the command of Allaah than Muhammad ibn Nooh, and I hope that his end was good.
He said to me one day, "O Abu 'Abd-Allaah, you are not like me. You are a man whom people follow, and they are straining their necks to see what you will do, so fear Allaah and adhere to His commands. Then he died, and I prayed the janaazah (funeral) prayer for him and buried him." (Siyar A'laam al-Nubala', 11/242)
Even his fellow-prisoners, whom Imaam Ahmad used to lead in prayer in chains, had a role to play in helping him to stand firm. One day when he was in prison, Imaam Ahmad said, "I don't care about being in prison: it is no different from my home or about being killed by the sword, but I am afraid of the trial of being whipped. One of the other prisoners heard him and said, "Don't worry, O Abu 'Abd-Allaah, it is only two lashes of the whip, then you don't feel where the rest fall." It was as if this reassured him and calmed him down. (Siyar A?laam al-Nubala?, 11/240)

Al-Ma'mun adopted this belief, and came to torture Ahmad bin Hambal, so that he would do the same. al-Ma'mun died, al-Mu'tasim continued in torturing him, and he took a stand for Allah - the Mighty and Exalted - in which he honored this religion. Eighteen years, and three rulers who tortured him so that he would accept and endorse the belief of the Qur'an being created, but, he refused. Then came al-Wathiq, who reversed all that had happened in terms of the affair of the creation of the Qur'an. He wanted to honor Ahmad bin Hambal publicly, but, Imam Ahmad refused. So, he sent for his sons and showered them with gifts, which they accepted. When Ahmad bin Hambal learned that his sons had accepted the gifts of al-Wathiq, he built a wall between his home and theirs, boycotting them.

One day, Ahmad bin Hambal became sick. So, his doctor instructed him to roast a ear of corn in the oven and eat it. So, he bought the corn, and asked that it be roasted. So, it was taken to the oven of his uncle, Salih. When it was brought back to Ahmad, he asked: "Where did you roast it?" They said: "In the oven of your uncle, Salih." He said: "I will not even taste it, as his wealth has been mixed with the gifts of the ruler."

Surah Isra 17 verse 80 Say: "O my Lord! let my entry be by the Gate of Truth and Honor and likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honor; and grant me from Thy Presence an authority to aid (me)."

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2482 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (May Allah be pleased with him)
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) used to say, " O Allah, grant me benefit in what Thou hast taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase my knowledge. Praise be to Allah in all circumstances. I seek refuge in Allah from the state of those who go to Hell."
Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it, Tirmidhi saying this is a tradition whose isnad is gharib.
