Ramadan : Message #5. The anniversary of Ayesha Siddiqa [r.a] was on Ramadan 17. Most Muslims do NOT remember this important date. Their forgetfulness shows the big gender problem in the minds of colonized Muslims. 'Ayesha, r.a., is the greatest Muslim woman. Forgetting her means that our Islamic understanding is very fragmented and incomplete. Here are a few points about her which are available in authentic hadith.
1. Daughter of Abu Bakr, r.a., wife of the Muhammad Mustafa, pbuh, cherished and honored by both.
2. Greatest narrator of Hadith especially in the quality of Hadith about the life of the Prophet, pbuh., and among the top in number of Hadith transmitted.
3. Greatest Faqih in Islam. Even senior male sahaba sought her rulings on issues of Islamic Law.
4. Leader of Muslim women. Led Muslim women in prayers as their Imam.
5. Leader of Muslim men, particularly at the Battle of the Camel where her army included sahaba and reciters of the Qur'an.
6. Through her Allah Almighty gave women their rights. For instance, the Qur'an condemns men who gossip about women and who try character assassination if a Muslim woman is alone with a man.

6a. Through her, the stigma attached to menstruating women [perpetuated by Judaism] was clarified by the Qur'an [2:222] and condemned by Muhammad, pbuh, in Hadith. As opposed to the Jews, the Prophet, pbuh, taught men to show physical love for their menstruating wives, caress and kiss them, do everything short of actual intercourse. {Hadith in Sahih Muslim, Sunan of Abu Dawud, Jami' of Tirmidhi, Sunan of Nasai.}
6b. When she temporarily lost her necklace in the desert, Allah ordained tayammum [ablution for prayer without water], a great blessing because prayer ON TIME is obligatory.[4:43]
6c. Through her the Qur'an ordained that the woman's CHOICE and CONSENT in marriage is essential even in the case of the Prophet, pbuh, himself.

7. The enemies of Islam attacked Ayesha, r.a., and do so now, because she was wedded to the Prophet, pbuh, as a child. 'Ayesha, r.a., accepted the Prophet, pbuh, when she grew up. She was his student and his critic and thus became the Mother of the Believers, and through her the other wives of the Prophet, pbuh, too became Mothers of the Believers, as role models and teachers. She lived for decades after the Prophet, pbuh, and spent her life in spreading the sublime message he had brought. People came from far away lands to listen to her. Her students, male and female, became leaders of Islamic thought.
8. She was the greatest orator of her time and an excellent poet and genealogist.
9. All the Sahaba [Companions] of Muhammad, pbuh, were people of great piety and worship of Allah and diligent in helping the needy and the downtrodden, but even among them she stands out as extraordinary.
10. Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, died with his head in her lap after having asked the rest of his large family to let him spend his last days in her room.
Dear Muslims, wake up and recognize the Mother of the Believers. Islam is not male oriented. It is from Allah and Allah loves those who have Taqwa, regardless of gender.

PALESTINIANS FACE DAILY ISRAELI TERRORISM

October 14: Israel used air strikes to kill 8 Palestinians in Gaza.

October 13: An Israeli air strike killed 3 Palestinians in a car in Gaza.

October 12: Israeli artillery and air attacks killed 7 Palestinians, including 2 children.

[In each case, the Jewish terror entity issues a justification for the murders it commits.]

On Friday, Oct. 13, Israel barred entry of all young Palestinians, 18 to 40, into Masjid al-Aqsa thus desecrating Ramadan.

Earlier on October 8, Jewish settlers disrupted Tarawih prayers in a masjid [mosque] in Ukka, a suburb of al-Khalil on the West Bank. They blew hooters to disturb the prayers and then broke in, damaged the mosque and and disrupted electricity.

As the Jewish acts of terror continue, 260 Palestinians have been murdered, with not a word of protest out of the U.S. or the U.N. If by contrast, the Palestinians were to attack the Jews, there would be a worldwide campaign against "terrorism!" Even the capture of an Israeli soldier out of his TANK was described as terrorism by the West!

[U.S. MUSLIMS are urged to take EFFECTIVE but PEACEFUL steps against U.S. Jews who are supporting Israel. CUT OFF RELATIONS with American Jews who support Israel. Remember that almost ALL American Jews not only support Israel's existence on Palestinian land but send funds to Israel and publicize Israel as a legitimate entity. "Good Jews" who are critical of Israeli atrocities, among them real good ones like Amy Goodman and Noam Chomsky, support Israel's right to exist on land the Jews usurped from Palestine. We urge Muslims to CUT OFF ALL relations with Jews except for those about whom you are sure that they do not support Israel.]

On October 13, the latest issue of New Trend was given to 100 Muslims after Juma prayers at Masjid Noor on the east side of Baltimore. This is largely an Arab-Pakistani-West Indian community. The issue distributed includes articles on the recent absurd verdict against Imam Warith Deen Umar, a letter from Pakistani-American prisoner Masaud's mother, a notice of Jamaat al-Muslimeen's National Shoora and an article on revisionist critique of the Jewish version of World War II.

Concluding Scene of Most Shameful Trial in U.S. History: Ahmed 'Abdel Sattar, Lynne Stewart, Yousry facing Punishment for contacts with Blind Shaikh & Egyptians Overseas

On October 16, Monday, the Judge will hand out sentences in the cases of Ahmed Abdel Sattar, Lynne Stewart and Yousry, the paralegal, attorney and translator, respectively, of the blind Shaikh Dr. Omar 'Abdel Rahman. The venue is:
Federal Building, room B on the 12th Floor, Pearl street, Downtown, Manhattan, New York city.
Time: 10 AM

Ahmed is facing life in prison, Lynne Stewart 30 years.
Ahmed has already been in prison for more than three years. For the last 6 months, he has been denied visits by his wife and children because he said "asalamu alaikum" to his brother who was allowed to visit at that time.
Lynne Stewart is somewhat of a celebrity in the human rights community and is getting widespread support from attorneys and non-Muslim activists. There is a slight chance that she might get a suspended or at least a reduced sentence. She has been free on bail since the case began. During that time she developed cancer. Let's hope the court will show mercy.
Ahmed has been abandoned by the Egyptian community who are scared stiff of the double tyranny of Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak and Hosni's sponsor, the Zionist regime in Washington, DC.

Muslims in America should study Ahmed's case. He has been declared a terrorist on the most ridiculous charges. Here are some facts:

The article about sexual deviants in America strikes a nerve because the pedophiles are in the white house! Mark Foley had been having inappropriate dialogue with young boys for years but, excuses his behavior by claiming he'd been abused as a teen himself. Now, it's been revealed that other GOP members were well aware of Foley's behavior and suppressed it. That's nothing new.

There is a book on J. Edgar Hoover, the name escapes me, that reveals how he was aware of Sen. Joe McCarthy's (famous for the communist hunt in the 1950's) thing for pre-pubescent boys. Sen. McCarthy was aware of Hoover's homosexuality and so they kept each other's secret with the threat of blackmail, basically.

The two Presidents whoever got any laws passed were Lyndon Johnson and FDR. Why? Because previous to their taking office as President, they had been a senator and congressman for over 30 years. They knew everyone's secrets and were able to get everyone to go along with their plans.

It's the same thing that may be going on now. Pollard, a zionist spy, and AIPAC, were all caught spying on congress. Now, Israel can get anything it wants through Bush II!

Foley's Folly, Ethics and Morality vs. Legality

According to ABC News, and other sources, approximately five months ago, Rep. Thomas Reynolds (R-NY) told House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL.) of concerns that former chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, former Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL) may himself be attempting to exploit children.

In fact, ABC News reported, "Despite repeated warning signs going back at least five years, almost nothing was done in Congress to stop Foley's suspect behavior with pages." According to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, in 2001, pages were warned to be careful with Foley and in 2005, one page complained to his congressman about "sick" e-mails from Foley, a complaint that was passed on to the Speaker's staff." Now, the FBI is investigating if Foley's e-mails and text messages to underage House pages have violated any laws. Did Foley, using the screen name Maf54, actually seek to meet with the pages in order to solicit sex?

Many are asking what did House Speaker Hastert and other members of the Republican power structure know and when did they know it. Some people are calling for Hastert's resignation; others are saying that the outcome of a full investigation should determine the fate of those involved.

This takes us to the great dilemma, ethics and morality vs. legality. Merriam-Webster defines ethics as, "the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation." Moral is defined as, "of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior." Law is defined as, "a binding custom or practice of a community: a rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority."

So here is what we have, Mark Foley, a fifty-two year old congressman, is at best, sending salacious and inappropriate e-mails and text messages to a 16 year-old former Congressional page. At worst, Mr. Foley illegally used the Internet to send pornographic e-mails and text mails, possibly for the purpose of soliciting sex from male minors. According to ABC News, "...the congressman, ...made repeated references to sexual organs and acts."

Information on Foley's suspected transgressions was passed to Speaker Dennis Hastert, Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-LA) and others. Without personally conducting further investigations they allowed Foley to retain his position as chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children and retain his seat in congress. Their actions may have satisfied the legal requirements of Congress; they may have used proper channels and protocol, but were their actions (or lack thereof) ethically and morally acceptable?

Once Speaker Hastert (R-IL), Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-LA), Rep. Thomas Reynolds (R-NY) and others became aware of this information, they were ethically and morally obligated to do everything in their power as members of Congress, as men, and as parents to protect the children placed in their care. They have failed on all three counts. They chose to protect the interests and image of their party instead of protecting our most valued asset, our children. Just because their actions may be deemed legal, it does not mean they were right. After all, wasn't this the party that boasted of representing the "Moral Majority" and the "Christian Coalition"?

According to the Associated Press, Representative Reynolds said, "Rodney Alexander brought to my attention the existence of e-mails between Mark Foley and a former page of Mr. Alexander's...Despite the fact that I had not seen the e-mails in question, and Mr. Alexander told me that the parents didn't want the matter pursued, I told the speaker of the conversation Mr. Alexander had with me." The fact that the parents did not want the matter pursued is somewhat understandable but irrelevant. As with most sex offenders, Mr. Foley's focus was not limited to a single minor. There is statutory law at play here and other children possibly at risk. By statute, it is illegal for an adult to solicit sex from a minor. There is no room for equivocation here.

Speaker Hastert is now trying to hold himself to a lower standard of conduct as Speaker of the House than he was held to as a high school wrestling coach. Any teacher who is confronted with this type of information about another teacher and a student is compelled to take action. Hastert should have asked Congressman Alexander for copies of the e-mails (which I have seen); after reading them it would have been clear to him that there was a very grave problem with Mark Foley. Speaker Hastert should have then called Foley into his office and given him three days to get his affairs in order before demanding his resignation. He then should have turned the information over to all of the proper authorities. Clear moral judgment and ethical action are how one protects the image of the party.

All of these individuals swore an oath to protect this country and its citizens from threats both foreign and domestic. Fifty-two year old congressmen who at best send salacious and inappropriate and at worst pornographic, illegal e-mails and text messages to pages under the age of eighteen are domestic threats. Contrary to Speaker Hastert's claims, this has nothing to do with Democrats taking political advantage of Republicans but everything to do with adults taking sexual advantage of children. House Speaker Hastert should resign. Congressmen Alexander and Reynolds should resign as well, not for violating our laws, but for failing us ethically, morally and violating the public trust.
